I mostly work by myself for long periods and i get bored fast when there's nothing to do which is normally the case during the summer. I was looking for some browser based games that are trustworthy and entertaining. Considering PA users are generally very helpful and mindful i thought i'd ask you guys first.
I hate to say it.... but have you though of asking your boss for more assignments? Or proposing some? Thats typically the best way to stay occupied during the work day...
I would agree but due to the nature of my work it's mostly just sitting around in the first place and once again it is unsupervised so I normally get all my work done quickly.
Illig's got a point. If that's not feasible for some reason, consider that anything you do on the work computer or work network can be monitored.
I'd suggest if you can't get more work to do, then you bring a book to read. Ideally something relating to your work in some way.
Actual games, the AdultSwim website has some entertaining flash games. Maybe not work safe, but fun.
Depending on where you work, I wouldn't do it from a work pc. I'd bring a phone, kindle, iPad or anything else that can access a different network and use that, provided they don't care if you do so during down time.
I've worked jobs where we were primarily reactive to situations and it wasn't as simple as asking for more work. So I get where you're coming from, but they also monitored the hell out of our PC because of the data we had access to.
I had a similar situation at work, and decided it was a good moment to going back to drawing. If drawing is not your thing, Im sure you can find something else you would like to learn or improve, music learning? programming? anything that you need a theoretical base for it, that way you can train a new skill while getting payed, instead of just passing time.
Yes, with a quick verbal "boom." You take a man's peko, you deny him his dab, all that is left is to rise up and tear down the walls of Jericho with a ".....not!" -TexiKen
read a book that will teach you things you need to get a better job.

I was a security guard for a while, and I mostly brought books or homework.
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

Personally, if I had enough time to be bored at work, I would invest some time and money into improving/gaining skills that would further my career down the line.
Even if it's just some books on leadership, conflict resolution, or communication skills, it's better than just sitting there playing a game.
I used to work in a similar situation and the only thing that helped me get through the long and boring days was my jump drive. I had several roguelike games on there (like Esh...ADOM has always been my favorite), several versions of various console systems as well as a lot of games that were specifically designed to run off a jump drive. I also stored a lot of music on my jump drive. None of this stuff had to be installed on the computers which kept them clean and none of them required the internet. That also kept me clean and away from network/computer troubles that can happen with boredom.
On a side note...I know a lot of people will disagree, but if you have access to Facebook, there are a few good games out there to play if you can find the ones that you like. But...this is easily tracked by IT and security.

Just my opinion though.
Edit: But if you are going to play a game, I always found Ginormo Sword to be fun: http://babarageo.com/flash/ginormo/
