You know those little breadcrumb quests that give you like 10 faction rep or whatever to get you to go to another quest hub?
They seem to give full Guild XP and Guild Rep. My warrior is wearing the tabard that doubles guild rep and just got the 350+ or whatever guild rep while gaining 11 Kirin Tor rep.
Edit: Oh yeah, you know how the Pandaren that choose Horde have to fight in the Orgrimmar Arena for part of their quest chain? Because of that, anybody can enter the Orgrimmar Arena and dueling is enabled there. It still looks like it's being built from the outside (and has a roof) and the door is even still boarded up, but there is a portal sitting in front of the door so you can enter.
Not related to anything; anyone else playing with SSAO on now? It's making my graphics cards run really hot (i.e. playing for a few hours it's the first time I've ever been able to feel heat distinctly radiating from my pc under my desk).
I'm not sure if it's implemented poorly or? I should check for new drivers but I doubt that'll make a huge difference.
Nvidia card? I noticed it too and turned it off. My last few Nvidia cards have been nothing but trouble, especially on any game that I can set to DX11. It's supposedly an issue of cards being overclocked not syncing up probably with the games and the drivers, which is beyond ridiculous.
SSAO on my 560TI turns the fans from barely there to living in a wind tunnel levels of annoying. It's supposed to be a "minor" decrease in performance for better visuals but it tanks the card hard. It's not worth it for the minor difference it makes.
Yeah the thing is, performance wise, turning SSAO on for WoW doesn't really push it any harder. The game still runs silky smooth. It just makes my system run super hot.
And nothing else makes it do that; battlefield 3, Crysis etc. None of them make it just get so hot.
I can turn SSAO off but man, I really like the effect. It didn't seem to be causing any actual problems, it wasn't actually overheating or anything.
I feel like my fans were making funny sounds the other day (not vid card, system) so I need to take a look anyway and see if all my fans are running right.
Maybe I just need to break down and finally get a new case that isn't just complete shite.
I ran the game on low settings otherwise I get horribad framerates in raids. Kind of sad, really.
I've found shadows in the main offender in any MMO. I can crush any game I throw at my system, except crowded areas in MMOs. Turn shadows down or even off? It's fine. If that doesn't do it, lighting too. Honestly, you never see those things in a raid anyways, no huge lose.

Yeah I've tried various settings and 'tricks' and yet I can never get the game to run in a manner that's pleasing to my eye. My computer isn't great, but I'd think it could get ~60 FPS at low settings at 1680x1050 (it can't).
The CPU is a dual core at 2.8 Ghz, I have 4GBs of RAM and a 6870. I can run much more graphically intensive games at a much better clip but this? Not so much.
I ran a taint log last night and saw AtlasLoot taint all over the place. I haven't looked in depth though, so it might be something else tainting that AtlasLoot is getting blamed for.
Essentially it's a security system to prevent AddOns from being able to do things they shouldn't be able to do.
Unfortunately, the default user interface has some parts coded in ways that can make it difficult to avoid tainting the ui. Some are simple coding errors (leaked globals) and others are design issues.
If you noticed messages like "ADDON has been blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI.", that is taint in action.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

Oh man, I just discovered that LFR queues don't go away when you log out and back in. That's new, right?
Anyway, that LFR proved to me (anecdotally of course) that the new system is better because I finally got the ledger off of Ultraxion. I hadn't seen it drop once, LFR or Normal, the entire time since 4.3 hit.
I found out today that I can finally do raids (albeit not the most current one) with my real id friends, no matter what server they're on. This makes me extremely happy because now I can get older achievements and farm for mounts without having to transfer off my backwater server
However, I'm still trying to figure out whether people from other servers in my zone can steal rare spawns that I'm tracking (I'm on one cross-realm servers being beta tested for MoP). My guess is no but I'm not completely sure
Holy crap. Thunderclap is some great dps now. I topped dmg on Congealing Bloods tonight. As Prot. With just thunderclap.
We had a wipe on heroic spine because we killed some 5 amalgamations accidently with dots and such. We got one of the tendons down to 7% on the first lift. I can't even imagine what normal is like now.

Spine is the only fight that actually gets harder as the debuff increases. Well, not harder, but annoying, in the sense that it becomes easier to kill the tentacles/amalgs etc. My guild just straight up stops dps at 30% on the amalg, so we just kind of twiddle our thumbs for a bit as we wait for bloods. We've had several cases of the tentacles dying accidentally to dots while we still had an amalg up. Close calls and crazyness to be had.
I've found one thing about the new looting interface in 5 mans that I really don't like. You don't get the message "x chose need for y." when your other party members pick need or greed. Under good circumstances this means as a dps caster I can't wait to see if the healer needs on that spirit gear then need it if he doesn't. It also means I can't tell someone's going to ninja something until he's already got it.
Is there any way to turn those notifications back on?

I think there is an option to put loot rolls into a new chat tab, but I'll have to double check. Maybe it was an addon, not part of the UI.
EDIT:
Under Controls, there is an option "Auto Open Loot Rolls Windows". - When checked, the Loot Rolls window will automatically open to show you your group members' rolls when Bind on Pickup items drop.
So I said fuck it last night on my pally and went Holy for the first boss of DS LFR to try to get the damn boots off of Morchok.
With half my holy 'set' being prot gear, so I could even queue, and only putting about 5 skills on my bar because I didn't want to dick up my prot bars because I don't intend on staying Holy; I was still 3rd in hps and overall heals.
3rd isn't anything to brag about, and I'm not bragging. But that there were 3 other people (not disc priests) who were behind me in healing, with a spec I've never played, with gear that wasn't even for my spec, and what was, wasn't gemmed or enchanted, and didn't even bother setting up my bars properly...
No wonder I wiped on Madness 4 times on my priest afterward.
Regarding an earlier comment I responded to about the ratio of bads:goods since the patch...yeah. LFR has been flooded with people who have no clue what is going on, and don't seem at all interested in bothering to figure it out.
We're back to tanks not knowing how to do Ultra; dps not knowing to not attack more than one corruption on spine (and not just trolling), not knowing to switch to shards/blisters on madness; not having any fucking clue about the ooze kill order on yor; let alone to go kill one.
So that's awesome. I can't even rely on a quick jaunt through LFR to not get any gear. :rotate:
*LFR is still stupid, expect multiple wipes on Madness.
*I love the Fire mage rotation now, pyroblasts everywhere
*The Arms warrior rotation still "makes sense" Same with the Ret paladin one.
*Demo lock is more complex than it appears.
*Picking and choosing which character is more "done" in a zone to finish out the quest achievements can be tedious.
I am finding it had to swap to monk now. I was given the go ahead to plvl a monk in MoP for my raid char but with the changes to Warrior they are very strong now. I still find myself making old mistakes on my rotations though. Like using HS too much heh. As arms it still feels the same which is very nice. I had to just take HS off my main bar and replace it with slam. Yay slam is usefull! I have played the Monk in the Beta and it is very fun but so is my Warrior too. Well I know who will be my main alt will be.
Side Note: I was getting 450k execute crits on the arm tentacles on HMadness last night. We can single tank it now with our DK 3rd tank easy.
I some of the things i had hot keyed that went away like rend I really have to get out of the habit of using that button in the rotation
heroic strike is one that rarely lit up for my warrior and I found out why because it hits like a truck now
Does Deathwing in the LFR still drop his weapons?
How does one spec holy as a paladin
Why does the shaman talents really look like something out of vanilla of the go heal that's what you are for talents.

35% nerf aura in DS? Jesus, I thought for sure they would stop at 30%. For comparison, the buff in ICC capped out at what would be equivalent to about a 23% version of the DS aura.
Guild leveling feels great now. God I hope it doesn't get nerfed.
Some new mounts posted on the WoW front page. Loving the flying disc and even the astral mount - which is a better use of the whole "transparent sheen."
I am, but haven't done raiding since Lich King outside of a 10 man DS boss or three.
I don't mind it so far, other than having to remember to shield slam on cooldown or rage starve pretty quickly. Shield Block or whatever (the big one) seems to require just a little too much rage (60 I think..do they expect us to sit on that much rage constantly?).
It seems like once we get the banners...just alot of abilities to keep track of and use
Warrior Raid Tank here. It feels slower. This is mainly because most of my threat builders are either rage builders or "free" now and have a medium CD. Revenge, Shield Slam, Bladestorm/Shockwave/DragonRoar, Heroic Throw, Thunder etc. The only real spammable button I have is Devistate. This makes me think I have only one rotation now. It is no longer split between Multi/Single mob based. The only thing limiting using all of these items is GCD. But I have found I can easily keep all of these on CD.
In terms of absorbing damage it feels the same after I reforged and regemmed from what gems I had in the bank. The dmg I output has been increased by a good amount which is a bonus I was pulling agro off of the Pali and DK raid tanks my guild has. I guess it is nice that I can keep threat on mobs easy now and not really have to spam anything.

As a DK tank it feels almost exactly the same! The 1s GCD is weird, though. Of course, I'm semi-used to it from being mainly a DK DPS.
Edit - Also, Jubal, are you on alliance? Wanna BattleTag swap?
