So, I while flying around to do Serpent daillies, I came across a level 90 elite Makura with a name. I drop down, kill him, and he drops a shell and a scroll detailing that there are 6 others to be killed. So I fly around Panderia, killing these guys one by one, and combine their shells. Then I go to the last spot listed, and summon their dad. <The Pinch King>
After a long, drawn out fight, I emerged victorious, and recieved a blue fist weapon. Lobstermourne.
Also, while exploring the area, I found a flying turtle spirit (Yes, a turtle with wings), named Lon'li JuJu. Apparently /hugging him causes him to follow you. So adorable. I also found a Tuskar named Wally, and a Hozen carpenter named Tik Tok, on an island in the middle of nowhere.
also once you hit revered with cloud serpents you get access to more secondary profession based dailies (bandage serpent hatchlings, archaeology, etc.), but of course those aren't helpful unless the character actually has those professions.
Hmm....I've had those profession ones from the get go. The only new things I got from Revered was the race and the monk battle; both of which are randomly interspersed into the rotation.
huh, I only started seeing them after I hit revered. But apparently there was some bug where some of the dailies weren't showing up for some people, so maybe it's related to that

Do monks like crit and mastery? Because that's all I seem to find on agility leather in pandaria, and as a rogue, are my two least favored stats. The two golden lotus crafted recip
I asked this right before MoP launched but I am now more curious:
Combat Rogues: 2.6 offhand.
EJ says it's even with a 1.8 dagger and might actually be very very very slightly better; but the EJ post on combat isn't very complete atm as i'm sure things are being figured out.
Does anyone have any more concrete information?
From what I'm gathering from searching around everything is normalized to the point that for combat it's irrelevant for most things the offhand speed and a slower offhand actually makes killing spree a lot more powerful so that's how it pulls ahead. It seems to make sense given what I understand about my rogue, but I just want to check with people who actually know about rogues.
Slow offhands work now, yeah.
The only things holding 2.6 offhands until now were Deadly Poison (IP procs have been normalized for a while now, but not Deadly) and Combat potency procs for energy generation. Both have been fixed to compensate for slower offhand weapon strikes, to make more weapon configurations viable. So yes, it works.
I go dagger/dagger for mutilate, fist/fist for combat.
So thats w duoed hat that makes Makura by the serpents is. Was wondering as I flew by. I did kill an elite goat in kun lai that dropped a 3 charge 440% land mount (30 sec duration). Now I wonder if it is usable in rated bgs...
Hit Exalted with the Tillers this morning. Sixteen plot field GO! So far I'm just spamming bells for motes so I can mass produce Imperial Silk. Then, when I hit revered (exalted?) with the August Celestials I'll make a few bags and hopefully turn those around for mass money.
Heirlooms are so ridiculous in low level battlegrounds. My 14 Monk destroys practically everyone.
What's the best moneymaker that people have found? I thought about mass producing the greater spellthreads, but I'm not sure if that would be worth it. 2k per thread isn't bad, and I could make 20, but I also have an engineer, a jc, and a scribe. I just don't know the market.
So I was a bonified Jenius (this is on purpose). I saw that Living Steel belt buckles on our server were selling for 1400k and the living steel itself sold for 9k. So as a BS I thought, why not? Make some profit! So I buy three living steels, make them, and throw them up.
2 days go by and nothing sells. 2 guys on our server are on a price drop war apparently to the point that the belt buckles are selling at most for 1000k. And on top of that, they're posting like 10+ each.
... I guess I'll just hang onto them until it settles down but I'm afraid I'm going to lose gold in this endeavor.
Brewmasters like crit because it gives them stacks of Elusive Brew, which lengthens their dodge skill. Mastery increases Stagger amount.
Though I am getting lots of haste right because, goddamn, I need energy.
Yes. We also like teh brews!
I was talkin with some other friends that are playing monks and they are focusing on the DPS side of the ball. I have DPS as an offspec but I only daily with mine. It was kind of sad to hear that they Windwalkers are sooo closely tied to crits poppin to be able to get decent dps numbers. I then tested this out on the dummy for a bit. This was single target only. There were spans of time where I noticed I didnt crit often. Those spans were 30-40kdps. The spans of time where I crit a higher ammount were 60-95kdps. This is a small data set I know but it would explain why all my DPS monk friends are bitching.

Ditto. Though I am still working on food since I want to get my various cooking skills up (if I can get Brew leveled up I can free up a bag slot... got a BoP recipe that requires 600 skill that has been taking up a slot for almost two weeks now ). Way I see it there isn't much to spend motes on at the moment - I've already crafted the two Leatherworking epic pieces to wear :P
Also I seriously hope those bags are reasonably priced on AH. I know they won't be, but I need the space so bad

They take twice the cloth as the epic robes, so I would expect the bags to consistently be double the price, I hope.

Knowing my server, they will be 300,000g each Until no one buys them and then after a year they might drop to 100,000g..
I know it was said earlier, but seriously, fuck becoming friends with Nat Pagle. At best, it's 3 rare fish per day, every day, for about 4 weeks. At least the Tillers throw some random quests at you to increase the friendships.

Can't agree more. I turned in those fish a total of four times (total, not each) and I just can't do it. I have far too many other things to do in game than fish for 4 hours a day to make sure I get all three fish.
Nat is one of those ultra factions. At least its not tied to the Angler rewards. The rewards from Nat himself are actually very nice but with any grind like this they are for a select few that put the time in. I am actually happy I wont see hundreds of people sitting in chairs fishing. It should stay somewhat rare.
I haven't even seen one of those fish in about a week, and I've been doing the Order of the Cloud serpent fishing daily and all Angler dailies every day.
And one of those three fish I've never seen.
Edit: Lots more datamined voice files, more spoilers related to that earlier big spoiler.
They involved Dalaran, Jaina, and the Blood Elves.

I've seen the flying tiger fish like 3 times total...and I'm not fishing for it specifically, I'm just getting it on occasion from doing the fishing required for the cloud serpent dailies.
That's going to be a slow as hell one, and one I'm going to wait until I literally have nothing better to do to farm on.
I got all three of the daily fish relatively quickly the first time I did any fishing, and I haven't seen any since. I might've just been lucky, or they might be zone specific drops or something (I got them quickly in jade forest, but since then I've mostly been fishing salmons in valley of the four winds.)

Personally, I think you should've gotten at least a *little* bit of starting rep with Nat Pagle if you've done any of the big quests from him in the past.
Like fishing up Ghaz.

Nat and I have been bros back when he was standing in the god forsaken rock in the middle of the Threramore Bay. I've done everything's ever asked of me.

There were three locations given to me by a guildmate that work really well to fish up the rare ones. One of the items fishes up in a little lake in the SW corner of the summit. The other fish I get pretty regularly in the split river used in the daily quest for the Anglers just north of the the quest hub. I get the octopus pretty easily fishing right by Nat.
Since we're railing against The Anglers, I really hate the Shocking one, the one with the eels.
Every other daily takes maybe 20 minutes tops, if I get unlucky on that one it will take me 45 minutes easy. And yet, because there are only 3 Angler dailies, they have me over a barrel.

Yeah they need to bump up the drop rate on that one. I didn't particularly mind before because I needed the stupid goldfish for the Cloud Serpent daily anyways, but I'm exalted w/ them now so now it's kind of annoying :P
I also wish the ones that require you to do some underwater stuff would at least have the courtesy to give you a swim speed buff.
On the plus side, you do get a shit-ton of rep per daily (600 for humans, yay racials) for a hub that only has three up per day, so at least you don't have to usually spend a ton of time doing these overall.
that one doesn't bother me so much because for some insane reason, I can sell the goldfish for ridiculous cash. I guess everyone would rather just buy the mats to level cooking, but damn.

Chairs fishing? Is that something his hat does? I only see a hat and a book as rewards specific to him.
Anyway, I don't mind it being something generally more rare than other factions; I just think they went too far. Either up the catch rate on the fish, or increase the rep they give; or do like the tillers individuals and have periodic quests that give a nice chunk of rep.
I mean, it's nice that his fish also give Anglers rep, but I think the requirements for his rep are just unnecessarily extreme.
I say that as someone who took the time to get Salty; so I'm aware of killer grinds and rare achievements relating to fishing.

The goldfish aren't for leveling cooking. There is an Order of the Cloud Serpents daily every day that requires you to make 5 Fish Cakes. Each one requires 2 goldfish, so that's 10 per day. That's a lot of annoying fishing since they ONLY come from open water, not pools, so it's not a 100% guarantee (in other words, usually 15-20 casts to catch enough). So I can see why people would want to buy them.
Edit: I agree w/ Dude w/ Herpes. I have Salty too and his rep just seems dumb. At the very least there should be an additional, more reliable method once you hit exalted w/ Anglers. Or else the rare fish need to give WAY more Pagle rep.
I don't have a problem with it because it isn't really like salty (or the winterspring mount, or whatever.) It's something you can just kind of make progress on while you do the fishing you'd do anyway to get raid food or whatever. He doesn't have anything that's important gameplay-wise.
although, there's really no reason he couldn't have a 'bring me #X fish of whatever type" as a daily the way the tillers NPCs do.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet

well, it's definitely not like salty in that everyone can get the fish for Pagle. Salty has been around 4 years, with 2 tournaments per week, so per server you have tops just over 400 people per server with it? That's rare, rarer by far that most achievements. It's not something you can just grind. It's just that all the other achievements required for it too are grinds, particularly the dal coins, among others.
Again, I'm not against it being something rare, but I just don't like that they've gated the rarity behind a painful and otherwise rewardless grind.
Plus I have zero faith that they won't add more later and make it easier down the road so I'm certainly not going to kill myself getting it asap; ideally I'll just get it over the natural course of the xpack.
My current hunter pet, I've had since damn near WoW's launch. However long it took me to get my hunter to STV and get bhag'thera. it was also about the time I got my RL cat, and they're both named after my cat.
Now...Pandaria has some cats that actually look more like my real cat and I'm not sure if I want to get a new one and rename my in-game cat, or ust keep with the one I've had from the get go.
