I'm actually in the same boat Dude, except my cat passed away before I tamed the hunter's pet. The hunter's pet was an honor bestowed upon King Bangelesh also.

So, I did LFR for the first time ever.
Zerg rush ftw?
I suppose there is something to be said for ignoring all mechanics and downing bosses. Like, I know there are mechanics involved in these fights, but if you asked me what they were, I could only somewhat explain the second boss (move out of the aoe if near melee, some sort of tank swap, and move out if you're the bomb).
The first boss we stacked the three lions together and I have no idea what I was doing. I just shot them until they died. We wiped the first pull on those bosses, or rather, they despawned after a whole bunch of the raid was frozen, while I could still act, and thus got killed. Still don't know why.
The second boss, well at least I hate to pay attention somewhat. The third boss was pretty much tank and spank, as far as I could tell. I think someone went into some other dimension for a bit, but from raid chat, seemed like maybe 1 dps went inside.
In pretty much straight PVP gear minus a heroic gun and a few misc. items, I was top 3-6 depending on the fight. Strange.
Also, I hate, hate, hate hiding what everyone gets. I used a luck token and received a sidegrade to my chest, since I had just crafted the epic one that morning.
Being a spec that relies on front-loaded burst (which got kinda fucked by base 40% resilience) on a PvP server, and not being all that interested in the whole PvP thing (since in the world it's 99.9999999999% ganks, and in battlegrounds the Horde in my battlegroup is hilariously bad), I can't say I've been enjoying getting anally penetrated by every single ganker when trying to do dailies. This whole thing has me wondering if it's wise to even have different gear progression at all, since a PvP-geared Blood DK just holds me down and shits on my face.

The second boss is very complex for tanks if you go in blind. There are two crystals, and each tank grabs one. The first creates a shield that protects from his varying AoE spells. The second will channel on a friendly players and steal any spell cast during the channel. During phase 1, you can steal his stun and stun him during Epicenter, saving your raid a lot of grief. Or you can steal epicenter and do a lot of damage. Ultimately not worth it since the dps it does probably doesn't outweigh the dps loss from melee being forced to flee.
Phase 2 and 3 you can steal his buffs to put a dot on him, which adds a great deal to your DPS (I was apparently very high on the chart because of it). The problem is that you can only use the crystal on other players, so the other tank should be tanking as much as possible so you can steal lots of spells. Varying stacking debuffs means that you have to rotate tanks eventually, but the debuff fades off sooner than the other tank hits the upper limit.
So no, not super "zerg 'em down," but dps has it easier.

Yeah, no clue if the tanks did that or not. Melee ran out when the AoE went off. One tank told the other to taunt occassionally.
Like I said, in a real raid, I'm sure I'd figure out what I was suppossed to be doing, but in this, as a ranged dps, it was like doing a raid from a prior tier when my guild from WoTLK would have offdays. Just zerg and power through whatever boss mechanics were in place.

shroud isn't needed in lfr, barrier has a 30s CD instead of the normal mode 1 min, so you can use it every epicenter/draw flame/arcane thingy
Nat is one of those ultra factions. At least its not tied to the Angler rewards. The rewards from Nat himself are actually very nice but with any grind like this they are for a select few that put the time in. I am actually happy I wont see hundreds of people sitting in chairs fishing. It should stay somewhat rare.
Chairs fishing? Is that something his hat does? I only see a hat and a book as rewards specific to him.
Anyway, I don't mind it being something generally more rare than other factions; I just think they went too far. Either up the catch rate on the fish, or increase the rep they give; or do like the tillers individuals and have periodic quests that give a nice chunk of rep.
I mean, it's nice that his fish also give Anglers rep, but I think the requirements for his rep are just unnecessarily extreme.
I say that as someone who took the time to get Salty; so I'm aware of killer grinds and rare achievements relating to fishing.
I thought best buds with him gave you the trading card placeable fishing chair.
I've hit honored with the Order of the Cloud Serpents and can now make all of the non-epic jeweled cats. Since I will probably only ever afford to make one, I'm leaning toward sapphire and ruby, but thoughts?

Introducing a pvp daily zone now is the best possible time. All those servers that got wonky ratios that got especially worse when WG came about? That issue got solved apparently because otherwise having a zone which again rewards you for simply playing on the massively populated side would be a bit daft. Lets not forget that pvp balance is really good at the moment and in no way has some classes doing extreme amounts of damage while others struggle to do any damage.
The new pvp area will be fine. Because if it's anything like BG's at the moment, then a big chunk of them will be bots.

Just got the Alani mount. Now just two weeks or so until I can learn it..
So checked out the game the other day after a year away.
Much has definitely changed, especially with the skills but the one I got to ask about is when did they change the mount thing? Specifically allow multiple characters to use a mount another alt had? When I saw that I now had mounts for various characters that blew me away.

(Most) mounts, titles, achievements and pets are now shared between characters both current and future. This was changed back in the 5.0 patch.

my current server is high pop pve 99% alliance 1% horde. My old server was high pop pvp 85% horde 15% alliance. I don't anticipate the new zone being very fun on either.
more fun with crz:
one of the rare pets only spawns at midnight. Iog on to try for one, get stuck in a server that's already at 2am & they're all gone.
Whoo yay! Guild downed Will of the Emperor today, we are now 6/6 Normal! Gonna wade into Heroics next week and see how much of a trainwreck that is. Fun fight though! Especially as a tank, dodging the Devastating Combo is awesome. We were struggling with things like positioning, adds, and healing at first. We decided to tank the bosses at the stairs, go with 3 healers (since the "enrage" isn't until 12 minutes in, and it's not really an enrage). We also learned that Emperor's Strength don't actually need to be tanked; they don't melee, and their only source of damage is easily avoidable. So we have a ranged or whoever's out there "tank" it while they kill it.
Me and the other tank were getting absolutely trucked during the fight, and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. I was constantly sitting at Moderate Stagger, seeing a few Heavy Staggers every now and then. Nope, turns out the bosses just hit ludicrously hard, simple as that. Having a third healer definitely made that easier. The Devastating Combo took a little to learn, but it was pretty easy once I learned it. Pivoting around the boss's hitbox helps a lot. Also having abilities like Roll and Transcendence doesn't hurt :P
It was a lot easier than Elegon though! Definitely another Spine/Madness scenario. All in all, loving the fights so far. Elegon is/was by far my favorite.
Hi guys, thinking about resubbing to check out MoP and wondering if anyone in the EU would be kind enough to send me a scroll of resurrection (you should get a free mount out of it). Let me know and I'll PM you my email.

Any boomkins here? I'm playing one as alt (90 tho), and can't seem to get their AoE. There's a point where you want to switch to Hurricane from dots, but how many monsters is that? Is there actually any way to get even decent AoE out of them?
The old thing with Typhoon + Shrooms + dots was may more fun and effective

I just sent out the Scroll. The page says it's not instant, but I don't know how long it takes.

How was it with farming the stuff you needed to bring down his shield? I haven't seen even one item yet and I'm hitting revered with Golden Lotus tonight.
Last time I looked at wowhead they had the drop rate at 0.2%. That means that, on average, you'll get ten shards in 5000 kills.
But average only matters in large numbers; you might go out and get all ten off the first ten you kill today, or never find one in the whole expansion.

I'm really unsure how they will turn out. On my server the Mechano-Hog never sold for any kind of markup, because people just gathered the mats themselves and either got someone from their guild to build it or found a crafter for a nominal fee. The new mounts need 12 Spirits of Harmony, though. And noone knows how to price those yet.
As with everything, if you can get a mount done quickly, you might get a very good price right now, because they are still very rare. The price will probably drop a lot when more people have max level engineers and the harmony market settles.
The Hog also was one of the first 2person mounts, wasn't it? I know that it definitely was hyped back then, it was just cool. Pandaria, on the other hand, has lot's of cool new flying mounts, so the price point might be a definitive drawback on the new ones.
As a jewelcrafter, I'm unhappy with Spirits of Harmony. I have 14 or so of them already. I'm not going to use them to do a cooldownless research, but that's the only purpose they serve for me until I get lucky with the Golden Lotus daily reward package. I wish they weren't BoP because I could get some much needed upgrades from a guildy leatherworker. I wish Bind for Guild was a thing.
Now that I've been 90 for a few days and have experienced a little more of it, god damn this expansion made a ton of small steps backwards. Mists of Inconvenience. Or maybe more like Mists of Annoyance.

Elaborate? There are some things that were fine that they didn't need to change, but for the most part I've thought MoP has been great.
I think most people have problems with Faction gating but it is a minor annoyance for me. There is so much gravy added in this xpac I think it is the best one to date for an opening. That is saying something because I absolutely loved BC and Cata which I think from a lore/story point still wins out but otherwise by this time I am usually bored and into raiding mode. I have yet to touch pet battles, I still need to finish the world quests, brawler's guild will be out in a bit and I still have to do the schenarios for the stories (basic as they may be). Edit: Also I capped VP this week with only having to do one or two random heroics. Numnum.
Anyone know where (if at all) you can buy the tier10 pvp sets? Come MoP the vendors disappeared out of Stormwind. I wanted that outfit for my hunter, dangit >_<

I agree that it's absolutely the best start to any expansion they've ever had, bar none. That being said, I also agree that they've taken a bunch of steps backward that really didn't need to be taken. The big complaint (well, one of them) with Cataclysm's opening was that, once you hit 85 it was pretty much 'grind dungeons lol' until you raided. That worked fine for Wrath because at least some of Wrath's heroics were much more accessible than pretty much any of Cata's heroics. Whatever, lesson learned, heroics were made farmable again in this expansion, BUT, everything is so goddamned incremental now it really doesn't feel as though I'm accomplishing anything. When I was doing the Cloud Serpent dailies, I was gaining about 1500-1700 rep a day doing 3-4 quests. I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Conversely, doing half a dozen Klaxxi dailies in Dread Wastes nets me maybe 900 rep. Lots more labor for far less reward, and you start off much further behind than what you do with CloudSerp.
Basically once you tell me "you've got about 3-4 weeks of these before you see a reward", you've lost me. I'm out. If we're talking about a game-affecting, powerful item? Sure, a month or more is fine. But a mount/tabard/(insert clickable item with an 8 hour cooldown here)? No. A couple weeks worth of dailies to get my cosmetic item? Yeah, that's fair.
And again, there are simply SO MANY things to do, between factions, scenarios, dungeons, pet battles, LFR and all, it's not like making any of those things more easily attainable would have been a detriment, especially in light of the (apparently) faster patching we'll now be experiencing.
