I purposefully stayed away from this thread and the betas after the first one confirmed I like this game. I'm updating my client and will be on in a short while!
Just once I'd like to see an mmo launch that isn't a total clusterfrak. Can't even complete registration, so for now I am the proud owner of a $60 email. I have named her Jimmie. She's got a good heart, but is a little rough around the edges- the perfect heroine for the feel-good movie of the year.
Imperfect I don't know if this helps you but maybe it will be useful for someone. I just took my pre-order key and re-regestered a new account with it on a different email (it gave me an error but apparently made the account) and now I can log in on this email. I have a hunch it had something to do with my beta account email conflicting with my new account email (dispite not giving me any errors or anything the first time).

I logged in right as the servers came up at midnight EST. I experienced no crashes. I experienced no lag. I experienced no login issues. I was never kicked to desktop.
At one point I got booted to the login screen and rolled back 5 minutes but that was it.
I know a lot of people were experiencing lag and problems, but I stayed in the overflow zones (and tried to use waypoints and change zones a minimum of times) and it was fine for me.
The hardest part was getting the names of the officers sorted..."how you do spell pyhenyhlhelm again?"

Man, the only problem I'm having is the game won't let me make a guild or re-represent the G&T guild.
Having so much fun already today. No idea what I'm doing, honestly, I'm just wandering around doing events as they happen and harvesting stuff and it's already been a ton of fun!

Any profession works, but for necros I'd use Tailoring and Jewlery. If you want to go as anything else, you could still transfer whatever you make to your other characters, or sell them on the trading post for some money. The system's pretty flexible that way.

This is so good. I haven't even touched the main quest much since so much random stuff keeps popping up. It's so easy to get distracted. I love how I'll just be collecting items for some random quest and then OH SHIT MONSTER and everyone around me suddenly becomes an ally and we're all kicking it's ass.
The cap's 400, so we wouldn't remove someone unless we absolutely had to.
If you need an invite, ask over TS or in here. If you want one, though, you need to give a character name; it usually won't let us invite someone through their accountname and id.
EDIT: It would probably help if @Corehealer posted a list of officers in the OP somewhere so if someone needs an invite they could just check there.
I'm just trying to figure out what's going on, because I was in the guild last night when the servers came up and when I woke up I'm not. I don't know if it's a display bug and I'm still "in" but it won't show me, or if It somehow rolled itself back, or what.
I'm gonna assume it's a bug related to the invites.
@Scogslen you're in the guild, but not representing it currently. Are you sure you're not in the guild? If not, I can kick and re-invite you to see if that fixes it.

reddit is really funny right now. a few posts bragging about how awesome of a community they are, but the entire front page and probably the second are filled with server whining.
Yeah, looks like guild invites are broken right now. If you aren't in the guild yet you'll have to wait a bit for them to be fixed before you can see the invite.

Some initial mega-lag (completely expected) for me around midnight EST until 1:30 or 2, but then after that everything smoothed out well. Played until 6am without realizing it.
Personally I feel like this has been a very smooth launch. Edit: I realize that's not the consensus though, and that there are issues effecting many.

So I'm in virginia... apartment has about a foot of water in it now. This happened about 5 hours after the launch last night.
So ya.
At a friends house, on a laptop now... I did get my PC off the floor before hand and its not going to be sitting in water. Hope to get in there and save some valuables like our computers.
I see others are having similar account issues as me. Just bought the game for the head-start, tried to register and it timed out, tried again and now my key is "already in use". Never setup a password or anything. Followed a support thing for help but it didn't work. Kinda bummed on that.

Stuff you can try (just basic stuff, may be useless in this case):
Update video drivers
Give the launcher admin privileges
Lower the launcher process priority
Steam (Ansatz) || GW2 officer (Ansatz.6498)

Any level, really. The experience scales with your level, so you don't lose out on experience if you started later, or gain more if you start earlier.
