    The first album I bought that I remember enjoying that wasn't weird al or some bullshit was probably Master of Puppets I bought for myself when I was like 17.

    So it was like a 20 year old album when I got it.

    Mind you the only music I ever got to listen to when I was younger was the oldies station or my step brother's ICP/Manson shit.

    So basically it was like discovering that music can, in fact, be good if it's different.

    It took me a long time but I can even listen to stuff with harsh vocals now (metal, not screamo)

    Still can't stand punk music unless it's pop punk.
