Based on my experience with the build editor, I plan to pursue a build that involves pooping out a bunch of ally-assisting Phantasms and makes attacking either them or myself as nasty a prospect as possible.
I can't get the idea out of my head of a Mesmer who suffers from split personality disorder, and every time a new personality decides to take center stage, he compulsively splits off a clone. Nobody will ever know which one is the real him.
Further bizarre character idea: an antivegan sylvari. That is, a sylvari who is convinced that the only ethical material source (whether for food or crafting) is something capable of defending itself. She considers the eating of plants (besides sylvari) to be amoral and will only eat meat and wear leather.

I hope the whole "it's near-impossible to actually play with your friends" thing gets worked out ASAP.
That, and the most dreaded words in all of Kryta.. "you have been moved to the xxxxx overflow".
Which in normal english means: "You'll have 2 second input lag and get midway into a jumping puzzle or rare event when you get the pop-up to transfer back"
Honestly though, that and the trading post being down, and the guild master bug are the only annoyances I have with this game. Literally everything else in the game is stupefyingly brilliant.
Also, it's not so much that the trading post isn't working, it's that my wife and I can't see the 'down for maintenance" message without feeling horrible for WaM.
Hmm, I'm seriously considering deleting my level 40 mesmer so I can get the right order. I reeeeaaally don't want to redo all the stuff I did, though. I have 100% completion in 4 zones and two cities and doing those zones again would be really tedious.
I've seen places to *spend* skill points, so I'm guessing that they're done similar to GW1, where you keep earning them every time you "level", even after 80. So there's no need to reset, just earn more and get things you missed.

I thought zone completion was account wide?
That is, once you finish it on one character, you do not need to do it again?
Dash it all, I want to play Guardian but there seem to be so damned many of them around. I want to be a special snowflake but Guardian greatsword skills (or sword + torch???) look so damn fun.

The character select screen says the Map Completion Medal is with a single character.
I made a pretty modest guild, we haven't had any trouble with the invites but we have done it on the overflow server every time.
My wife got up at the buttcrack of midnightwhatever, to race to create a guild right at launch. I think she was in Lion's Arch about 2 minutes after the servers came up (literally) because she'd traded gems for gold and got "Calamitous Intent". That probably pissed off some folks, because it's like, a 3 person guild... But the joke was on her because now she can't do anything with it, can't represent the guild at all (she shows up as not in a guild). Meanwhile, I'm the only person in the guild. D'oh.
But seriously, I'm not griping, this game is the best GAME that I've bought in, I don't know how long.

Argh!
there's no such thing as a special snowflake in an MMO. there are tons of every class running around.
you will never, EVER be special no matter how unique you think you are. so stop it and just have fun with what you like to play.
Are you the magic man?

Well, you could make a female dwarf in WoW, but why the hell would you?
Hmm, so it seems right now my choices are:
1) Play the rest of the game with a storyline I don't want.
2) Replay 42 hours worth of levels just to get the storyline I want.
3) Quit the game
Just do it. You're going to be regretful about it forever if you don't. If you enjoy playing the game, replaying those hours shouldn't be a big chore anyway.

Yeah, also you have made like 10 posts about it so it's clearly very important. Just restart.
i'm having serious trouble with my thief and i'm not sure if its just thieves in general or that i'm terrible =/ but I'll see warriors/guardians/necromancers fighting groups of 3 or 4 equal leveled mobs no problem, like, lazily, barely having to use any skills. I can *barely* take two making extensive tactical use of stealth and backstabs. At level 18 a level 19 or 20 mob can 1 shot me if it hits with the right attack. Also the sword roll around and hit them from behind skill is buggy as fuck, it's supposed to move you behind the enemy where you attack them twice for decent damage, but 50% of the time it rolls you out of attack range then you just stand there like a jackass
They do good damage, kinda, but not enough to make up for how squishy they are. I'm playing one and you MELT. With ANY lag at all, its almost impossible to dodge as much as I assume thieves are supposed to (and evade), and it makes it annoying as hell. Cooldowns are so long that if you fuck one up you're probably dead when facing a big mob or a 4-mob group.
Anyone make any kind of head way with cooking yet?
It seems to be taking forever to get it anywhere.
Im at 168 or so?
The biggest boon to getting that high was getting to the points where you can make recipes with mats you can buy from the vendor right next to you. Stuff like bread or a roux. Stuff that only has flour/water/butter/etc in it.
Then discovery.
The biggest difficulty now is bag space. Both storing it and making stuff. A lot of the stuff you make are components... and they don't have a component slot in the bank. So my bank is full of cookie dough, tomato sauce, pasta and the like. Then while making stuff you want practically everything your bags so you can discover stuff.
I have that happening with weapon making.
Where the hell do I get yeast!!!!!!!!!! bread would making things so easy
All of time and space; everywhere and anywhere; every star that ever was. Where do you want to start?

I am still flabbergasted by people who seem to have spent more than eight hours a day playing the game.
Can someone explain to me how "exploration" bonus Xp on monster kills works? I was fighting some grubs earlier and was getting a ridiculous 24+51 exp and I have no idea why.
Also, how does the +10 exp on food actually factor in, because it pretty clearly does not add a flat +10 to every monster you kill. Does it only work at full effect on higher level monsters or something?
Ugh, I'm terrible at resisting the siren call of big MMO releases. I was adamant that I'd skip this until about five minutes ago. Guess I should read up about classes while the client downloads.
How big is the footprint for the initial install if you buy the digital edition? I'm weighing downloading on my shitty rural connection vs. having to drive 15 minutes in the morning only to deal with Gamestop and their shit.

None of these really seem appealing.
Roll an alt and do a completely new storyline?

Wuvwuv will do a number on your system - RvR in DAOC was always a killer. The trick was, if you weredoing zergy stuff, turn off shadows, turn settings to low and, key bit here, turn off spell effects I dunno if GW2 lets you turn off effects.

Clones and phantasms don't mix.

No, but there are so many skill points around the world that you shouldn't need to.
