Yeah, I doubt I'll do it anyway. I'm horrible at pvp, and it's hard to fight against people with such low ping from all the way over here.

My wife got up at the buttcrack of midnightwhatever, to race to create a guild right at launch. I think she was in Lion's Arch about 2 minutes after the servers came up (literally) because she'd traded gems for gold and got "Calamitous Intent". That probably pissed off some folks, because it's like, a 3 person guild... But the joke was on her because now she can't do anything with it, can't represent the guild at all (she shows up as not in a guild). Meanwhile, I'm the only person in the guild. D'oh.

I'm in the exact same situation, it's very frustrating. And the new build didn't fix it? =(

I feel like i read on these forums earlier that when you finish a zone by discovering everything, the rewards you get are scaled to your actual level, not just the zone level. Is this true? If so, I would leave one point "undiscovered" until you reach level 80.

Is this true? Do I have a genius idea in the making?

Confirmed! My actual account is messed up, not my computer or network. I had a friend log in on my machine, and he was fine.

So now I go back to waiting. I wonder if actual launch will fix my problems.

    I lack faith.

I am uncertain if they scale. For the record, I have 100% the Wayfayer Foothills (when I was lvl 18) and Queensdale (when I was lvl 14). Both cases I was rewarded with 2 random Green weapons that were lvl 14, 40 of a random resource, and 3 Transformation Stones.

for those playing warriors that use 2h weapons, are you going more for Power and Precision for big hits/crits or using more toughness and vitality gear for survivability?

I'm favoring power/precision, but I'm not explicitly stacking it - I try to grab gear with vit/toughness too, especially if I'm finding myself frequently stuggling to survive (right now i feel like a god so i'm back to more power). Basically I'm going Power > Precision >= Vit > Toughness > Condition Dmg (largely b/c hammers don't do much in terms of conditions, if I was sword i'd rank it much higher).

On this note - LOL at the talent that gives you +40 precision for each unused signet. With 2 signets equipped my crit chance at 25(?) went from 15% to 78%. I cannot wait to go smash some events with that.

thats about the same I am doing, this is what my spread looks like at Lv22 with current accessories:
    307 Power
    223 Precision
    157 Toughness
    144 Vitality

I have 533 Attack and 28% Crit Chance, sometimes i do feel the lack of survivability when facing too many mobs and really only one heal to fall back on. With some new accessories my friend made i can have:
    285 Power
    204 Precision
    167 Toughness
    175 Vitality

Not sure if i need more health or more toughness.

In almost all cases Vit >> Toughness, simply because conditions/spells bypass armor, so how big your HP pool is what matters. That's not to say ignore toughness, but IMO unless you're going tanky you want HP more than DR.

@Bullhead, what are you doing trait wise? On the build i was given it had 30 Str, 30 Def, 15 Disc for skills that up Hammer damage and lower weapon swap times. Should i go less defense and more for a precision stat or critical chance?

i'm having serious trouble with my thief and i'm not sure if its just thieves in general or that i'm terrible =/ but I'll see warriors/guardians/necromancers fighting groups of 3 or 4 equal leveled mobs no problem, like, lazily, barely having to use any skills. I can *barely* take two making extensive tactical use of stealth and backstabs. At level 18 a level 19 or 20 mob can 1 shot me if it hits with the right attack. Also the sword roll around and hit them from behind skill is buggy as fuck, it's supposed to move you behind the enemy where you attack them twice for decent damage, but 50% of the time it rolls you out of attack range then you just stand there like a jackass :(

They do good damage, kinda, but not enough to make up for how squishy they are. I'm playing one and you MELT. With ANY lag at all, its almost impossible to dodge as much as I assume thieves are supposed to (and evade), and it makes it annoying as hell. Cooldowns are so long that if you fuck one up you're probably dead when facing a big mob or a 4-mob group.

Fighting groups of mobs with a thief is insanely easy as long as they're melee enemies. You just have to adapt. Instead of abusing backstabs, use death blossom to put bleed stacks on all of them, then use crippling dagger to cripple all of them. Then just kite while you regen initiative and keep putting death blossom on to keep the bleeds flowing. The AoE damage of death blossom bleeds is actually quite strong. If some of them are ranged it gets trickier, but still doable.

So has anyone gotten their collector's edition from gamestop yet? My wife ordered one on day-one pre purchase and has yet to get it. To say she's getting a little antsy, is an understatement. Doesn't even look like it's shipped yet according to her order status.

Personally I've never missed a release day shipment from gamestop, pc or xbox. It likely depends on the area.

Air has some amazing abilities with the staff.. static field is wonderful, both as a stun and a combo field. The shock is also quite nice, and who doesn't like a runspeed buff? :)

Edit: also, the auto-attack hitting multiple enemies is really great for events.

Man, I hate only have 5 char slots because I want to try all the chars (tried ele in beta) but every time I think about deleting a character I try a new weapon on them and end up liking them again.

I think my mesmer is going to go sword/pistol and staff. I was liking the greatsword at first but not really digging it as much anymore.

Oh no, she pre purchased, so she's been playing since bwe1. But she doesn't have all her collector's edition items, etc. Also I think if you don't input the code that comes with the game within 5 days you lose access. That's just not an option for her...

So does anyone have any tips for WuvWuv yet? I tried it a little bit earlier but it just seems difficult to get around/find where people from my server actually are. I was heading towards the active combat symbols, but I would just keep encountering a huge zerg and few, if any, people from our server. Is that just because we're getting stomped hard right now?

Also, I noticed my damage FELT low. I don't know if it actually was, but I'm curious how much low level gear will kick you in the pants when you try to engage in WuvWuv.

Never hurts to ask in team chat where things are going on. There should always be a big fight someplace. I typically latch on to the first party of 8+ people I come across. At night, yes the blue side (Jade Quarry) stomps everybody because they have a ton of Aus/NZ players on that server. Last night they owned EVERY point on ALL the borderlands, so we just took the fight to Eternal. Our server is still faring better than the poor green side (Gate of Madness).

I guess because I play a thief I don't feel like my damage is low, since I focus on cc and conditions instead of spiking, but it's true that when you get traits you become statistically more deadly. Fortunately every class has support skills and anybody can contribute. I started out just killing pets and mobs in our back ranks during big team battles. Now I'm comfortable skirmishing on the front line.

I'm Chetter ingame, hit me up and we'll go stomping some face.
