On that note, I think it really is impossible to have any horror-related elements work in a game like Mass Effect, Shepard is just too powerful.

I mean even in games like DS2 and RE4 which take a more actiony approach to horror genre there is still a feeling of isolation that makes them at least a little tense.

I don't know what you're talking about. There's an easy way to inject horror into ME: just cast the player as a Batarian, and Shepard as the antagonist.

    That would be... awesome.

Imagine being some poor merc or batarian or whatever and your gang just pissed off Shep. All you have to do is survive by running and hiding your way to your ship to escape. You go around a corner and the wall explodes with Shepard going rawr! If you try and fight him, you get skull crushed, you must run!

But then he charges you and you die!

    Mass Effect: Torfan

    No, wait!

Skyllian Blitz, but from the Batarians angle! Cause Shepard was an unknown back then, so the dawning horror of what they just bit into would be hilarious.

"Ok men, we're gonna attack Elysium, a small human (spits) colony. There is only a token force there, so it'll be easy. Ready? Charge!"

    Later...

    "OH GOD, WHY?!"

    Wasn't Shep there on leave?

    Ooo, hawaiian shirt of doom.

Depends on the background. All the military service records vary depending on origin.

Colonist was the only person on assignment, which goes with the general trend of colonist being the veteran and spacer being the rookie.

Shep's mother always an highly placed naval type with non-Spacer backgrounds? Always kind of assumed...

    No.

    She's dead, Dave.

In Earthborn, Shep's just street trash, doesn't even know her folks. Colonist, she came from an ordinary colonist family. Farmers and so on. Well, until they got murdered by Batarians.

Dang it. I missed that Marksman and Reave required you to get Ash or Kaiden on the ship. I either got them killed or left them behind as assets in my multiple plays. Are they unlocked when you get either onboard the ship, might not be too painful to run through for just that.

I actually was kinda worried at the underwater section because
I wasn't sure if I had blown up all the Leviathan relics before hopping into the water, and I was not sure something bad wouldn't happen to Liara and/or Javik while I was gone.

Shepard might be unstoppable, but she does leave the room sometimes.

And if Liara had gotten indoctrinated or killed, she wouldn't have been able to utter her best line of the series to date after the mission.
Does destroying the artifacts do anything? I went and made sure I got them all once I found out they could be destroyed, just in case.

    No clue whatsoever. Probably not.

Better to be safe about it, though.

anyone know what happens in me2 if you dont let wrex join your party in me1? thinking of excluding garrus and wrex this time for shits and giggles but i want wrex around in me3.

worried if i dont let him join he'll just get replaced by wreav as if he had died.

edit: nevermind, found my answer.. apparantly wreav takes over and wrex dies somewhere else before me2.

Shepard practices yagh-boxing in her spare time, of course she can hoof a backpack.

So yesterday I posted that human Wrex fan art, and a while back I found a pretty cool human Garrus that Orca has on his soup page. So I wondered how many humanized fan arts there are out there. Turns out, a lot!

Legion, that's who I forgot to search! Damn. I did searches on liara and tali but they provided nothing, as you sort of might expect from those characters; they already look human enough that most people don't feel the need to speculate.

Also I do not recommend searching "turian shepard" without safe search on.

Well here's a couple of Legion pics since I forgot him.

ME2 gets buggy and acts like Wrex is dead on Tuchanka but alive on the Normandy, but in ME3 it treats him as dead properly.

The accent is Kenyan, but since Tali is given a nod as princess Jasmine I think that style just carried over.

Yeah, I had to check comments to realize that was Samara in, as someone put it, an Annie Lennox style. Edit: Oh, and species are paired, so the two krogan, two asari, and two robots are side by side.

    So Leviathan was good!

I ended up taking EDI everywhere since it felt very much like her and Shep's investigation. But having the whole cast voiced for it was really nice.

Also, Liara's best line is definitely the one you get right after the mission.

    EDIT:
What did suck though is that there is still no ME4 prospect on the horizon yet. Because I really want an ME4 now.

So anyone else on xbox run into a problem where a friend can't join your multiplayer game because the host has DLC the other player doesn't? The only difference is the fact that I have Leviathan and they don't. They have no problem joining public matches.

I'd imagine that in a public match they would be matched against a pool of people with the same DLC. Have you tried the other way around (him hosting)?

edit: The other thing to consider is that there may be stuff in the Leviathan DLC that impacts the MP content. The new weapons/etc could change something internally, idk.

Why would anyone "bunker up" in the middle instead of somewhere actually defensible?

look man I don't fucking know okay? don't ask me to explain pubbie behavior

it's just like how on white when the game first came out, people would try to hold that top area between the stairs and the landing pad. It's elevated and has clear fields of vision, so people think it's a decent place to fight from. Which isn't a bad instinct to have, and on rio it actually wouldn't be a bad place if it didn't result in enemies immediately spawning on both sides of you

I used my Destroyer as an Infiltrator with crate-based cloaking in that one area of Rio. Brutes are extra easy to dodge there, somehow. Even at walking speed.

There's a cover on the other side that looks very open, and gives enemies some weird, jutting covers and elevation, but somehow works out if you have enough firepower and can get it around corners. Like a Demo. I could grenade-snipe past the side of the main-building.

these leviathan guys seem to be able to shut reapers down completely. So how did the reapers beat them and force them into hiding?

I have to assume it's a numbers thing. One-on-one the Leviathans win. Outnumbered ten-to-one or 100-to-one is harder.

The Leviathans actually had the advantage in the DLC; it was three-to-one.
