Wow, I was so busy with some real-life stuff that I didn't even notice that Rogue Legacy was greenlit! Nice.
Yeah, I hadn't been back to this thread after a bit as it seemed my post went unnoticed at first. I did notice Cellar Door mention on twitter that they'd been Greenlit though, so that's good. I already bought it from them, so I'm getting a Steam key anyway when available. I haven't played the demo myself, just waiting for the full game at this point. Seems very cool though.
For a company that is supposed to handle things so well, Greenlight is such a shitshow.
edit: So far, it appears that the game has to have a certain amount of Yes votes AND/OR someone at Steam likes it/wants it to get on Steam. Hence why the AVGN game was Greenlighted.

This is a new thing, there's going to be mistakes and outright stupidity. Lots of stuff annoys me about Greenlight, but I think in the long run it's a dialogue that needs to happen. It's not going to make any progress without missteps. I hope the indie community doesn't throw the baby out with the bathwater, and I hope Steam/Valve get some people working on Greenlight's boatload of issues. It'd be a shame to see this project fail.
And speaking of games that shouldn't languish in Greenlight purgatory, Wyv and Keep recently put out a Release Candidate! It's only a year late! I don't really begrudge them this though, the game is pretty sweet stuff. Here's the Greenlight page, you know what to do!
Just curious if this works. I Favorited some Survival/Building/Adventure (a la Minecraft/Terraria) games.
Do you guys see them or do they default to yours.

Welp, when the forums slow down (and I'm a work or killing time) I always go vote. Regardless if the system is stupid, it exposes me to games I don't go out looking for. I'm a harsh voter, I like wierd games, if you're horror or adventure (myst like), sorry.
There are quite a few games about building a base on a hostile world.
Well, they had it coming. Caring is sharing, when you don't share. You know, murder.
I checked out Space Nomads last night. It's pretty cool. It needs a ton of content. But it is pretty amusing.
First day, went out, extracted some materials, built a base and not enough guns, got wrecked.
Game 2: First day, went out extracted some materials, made enough guns to cover all sides and one facing my Pod (what the monsters are after). and was able to stay alive. 2nd night, got wrecked.
I think it'll be much better in the future, especially coop. Also doing something about the harvesting is pretty important, cause it got pretty boring after 3 rounds. Among other things, has potential though for sure.

I'm pretty excited about INFRA and Satellite Reign. Maia looks cool, definitely curious about that. Strike Vector looks fun but who knows what kind of community it'll be able to keep.

I'm kinda excited about '7 Days To Die.' The whole 'survival-zombie-apocalypse-in-minecraft' thing really appeals to the sandbox lover in me. Also, according to this interview, there might be zombie bears. Zombie bears, you guys. Bears that are zombies.

Oh man I'm actually pretty surprised the Novelist got greenlit, that looked really neat.
Haven't been paying all that much attention to Greenlight lately because it is frustrating seeing stuff like Escape Goat and Cook, Serve, Delicious and many many others just fucking languishing there.

Wow, that was a game that I got the alpha from from some dev bundle or something way back when but couldn't play it properly on my laptop. I'm glad it didn't just disappear as I liked the premise.

That's fantastic. It's good to see forward motion, and it didn't even take much Valve Time. Also congrats to LaCabra and hopefully this means we'll see a better variety in the type of games that get through the process.
edit: Holy shit that list. So many of the games I've been pining for to get through the process are on it. Escape Goat, Dino Run SE, Bunny Must Die and a ton more. I already have a lot of this stuff on other services but I'll probably see Steam keys for a lot of it (yay consolidation) and the gifting of awesome indie games shall truly be awesome. Awesome.
This game is quirky, funny, and awesome. 2D top down space shooter, 65 ships based on 5 archetypes, tons of mods and weapons that are roughly analogous to the character skills you see in MOBAs and aRPGs, outright spaaaace magic, arcade modes, peanut butter cups, regicide, space flails, fast food that gets teleported directly to your stomach and more!

It's got a Kickstarter but it won't make the funding at this point. I hope it gets Greenlit.
I found another one that looks fairly fleshed out:

2D Metroidvania game with great pixel art and animation. There's even a proof of concept demo.
It's also on kickstarter, but it's up in the air whether that makes its goal.

Thankfully, I am pretty confident that will never happen
