"I am looking at my stats page right now. I'm not some mouth-breather on the official forum. Are you saying I'm just making this up?"
Yes. No. Wait...what are we talking about?

No, I don't doubt that is actually the case. I'm saying that I have been given an actual refund in the funbux arena, and that giving back people all the money they lost buying mechs would be really easy to return using (average earnings) x (matches played) as opposed to configuring something which refunds the exact values of all the mechs and items involved.
The part that's silly is the idea that, beta or not, PGI would just screw people out of a bunch of C-bills because the people on the beta forums tend to overreact massively.
You mean patch notes? Whole MWO site is still inaccessible for me.

Launcher has changed faces again. Now has game, media, support, community, forums and patch notes buttons on the top. Advertisements in the middle and the crawling slow patch bar on the bottom.
One of the ads was for the "Yen-Lo-Wang", 3750 mc, 30% cbill boost, custom skin, unique variant.

If the hero mechs are MC only, I'm going to be really grumpy.

Yes, because heaven forbid PGI does something to make money. That's how you, I dunno, run a business or something. Totally insane, right?
EDIT: Patched up, logged in. Full refund on lost moneys, as advertised. HOLY SHIT, NON-SILLINESS WINS AGAIN.
I'm not really sure why people are so upset about getting average c-bills per match times the number of matches participated in. Last time I played, it erroneously reported average c-bill per match as my total available funds divided by my matches played, but if they've updated it correctly, who cares. To within a million c-bills the average c-bill/match x # of matches should be pretty accurate. Not only that, it doesn't account for money lost when you sell a mech back at reduced value.

It surprises me that people thought this wasn't going to be the case. Get over it. Given BT rules, everything should be pretty much self-balancing. It's not like it's a 50 ton mech that can carry 55 tons worth of equipment.
so, the amount of C-bills you have on your stats page IS what you have now in-game. Modules are still unlocked, and you have been refunded all of your mech xp.

Please shove your snark up your ass. I'm not some petulant child on the official forum whining about pay-to-win. I expect them to have an MC option to pay for stuff, but it'd be nice if was just like the regular mechs where you could either grind your ass off to buy one with CB or take the shortcut and buy it with MC.
For the record, I was never upset about getting an amount of C-bills based on your average earnings back. I just thought it was a weird thing to do. I do think it's rather bush-league to do a wipe without warning everybody first.
As for YLW, I would have been surprised if it WASN'T MC-only. These things are pretty obviously MWO's counterpart to World of Tanks' premium tanks. Although a lot of the WoT premiums are, as actual tanks, mediocre at best, whereas it remains to be seen if "Hero 'mechs" are significantly superior to the vanilla versions of the respective chassis.

New module added, Advanced Zoom. The mech lab has changed up a little. There is only a select mech option on owned mechs above the bay on the bottom. There are four tabs at the top now after clicking on a bay, Loadout, Modules, Upgrades, and Camo Spec.
Loadout is the old configure mech area, Modules is the same but with the new one. Upgrades has Armor, Structure, and Heat Sink sections. Amor where standard ablative or ff armor may be added, price showing for FF is 684352. Structure shows standard or endosteel, price showing in ES is 650k. Heat sinks show standard or dhs, price showing on dhs is 1.5m.
In the pilot lab, the XP that had been spent on mechs is available. The unlocked pilot modules are still unlocked. GXP was not reset.
Looks like I was given some cbills for something, but all the mods to founders mechs are gone.
In the "buy a mech", YLW is MC only. Jenner lists D, F, and K variants. Raven has 2X, 3L, and 4X. Cicada 2A, 2B, 3C, and 3M. Centurion just has A and AL variants. No changes for AS7, HBK, DRG, or CAT variants. Awesome has the 9M.
dag nabit! leaving work in a few straight to parent teacher conferences, then a pit stop at mcdonalds on the way to pick up my sons cousin. then haul everyone off to boy scouts for the holloween party that my wife got put in charge of. so that means set up/ tear down. get home by 9 if were lucky, toss the kids in bed... so i may be on by 10 or 11 depending if the wife wants sexy fun times or not...

Yeah, I figured it was just miscommunication about what we were talking about. My "non-silliness" thing was just a reference to the beta board hysteria, not you at all.

Hmmm. HMMMMMM.
No.
Considering the relatively generous C-bill earnings in this game, letting people simply buy everything through F2P means would mean basically no money earned. And even with the YLW requiring real-money expenditure to get, you get a freaking thirty percent bonus to C-bill earnings forever. Even when this game goes open beta, I'm already strongly considering getting the YLW for funbux, simply because it means I'll have my dream Centurion forever plus earn extra C-bills with it.
EDIT: FYI, just purchased the YLW and it's fully customizable, with a kickass camo scheme.

Yes, the module price for capture and target info was 100k each. I didn't look at their cost now. The advanced zoom was 200k? Not 100% certain on that one.
Nope, 2m cbills for advanced zoom, 6m for capture, 4m for target info gathering.
So why haven't we talked about other potential "Hero 'mechs" yet?
There are very few in the BattleTech universe that are as uniquely customized as YLW is the problem. You could have a "Rhonda Snord Highlander" but it would basically just be a Highlander with a different paint scheme and a C-bill bonus, essentially a founders 'mech.
Running into another Mech will no longer knock it down.
NNNOOOOOOO! [/vader]
Considering the collision/falling/standing up mechanics were still a laggy shitfest, this is for the best. And it will stop cheese like the game I saw last week where two Jenners just took turns tackling and then unloading into a lone Catapult in a fight which decided the match.

I mean patching. MWO's site is... probably a nuked crater at this point.

EDIT: Nevermind I found them in the upgrades tab

Because... well, you know.
I couldn't bring myself to change the name. It's too perfect already.
I feel there's a "Krogans got quads" joke here, somewhere, but I just can't seem to make it work.
