The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It is a recording you make (like an audio blog, say) and then release for general listening-to's on the Internet. It's called a "podcast" because it started out with a bunch of people making their own talk show or whatever and then putting it up for streaming through one's iPod.
I'm sure Wikipedia has a better explanation, but fuck, I'd rather just say what I know.
he's head something-or-other of Silicon Knights, a game company that's made, among other things, Eternal Darkness and the MGS remake for the gamecube
basically his beef is that some dudes from egm were sent out to their company and played a round of Too Human and wrote good words, and then when last E3 rolled around the demo SK had up of Too Human was shitty shit shit, and egm rated it a ''terrible''
he goes on to condemn the practice of previewing games entirely, saying that no one should even know about them, should see anything, until games are 100% done

showing games before they're done is a good idea though
keeps interest up, and if someone is developing a shit product then everyone can go HEY THIS IS SHIT and the developers can maybe fix it
i think most people are smart enough to tell the difference between a rough, unfinished game and a shitty one

Imagine it the other way around, where there is 0 information about a game until it is released.
The rumor factories would be a peak production until then, and game launches would be terrible. It's not like a read every review before I buy a game, but I figure if one is bad enough for me to hear about it's terribleness, then maybe I shouldn't invest in it.
I'll wait until this comic is in a more finished state before I review it because I've heard a lot of hype about this comic and really, this early demo doesn't live up to them.

Hey, first post!
Mike has writers block probably.
Is this a good birthday comic? I dunno.
Hahaha
the thing is, the points he made were entirely reasonable and pretty smart, he just presented them in the most batshit way possible

I'm not sure myself, but I always imagine that it's an escape pod shooting out of the mothership and is cast away on a deserted island
So who the fuck is this dyack dude anyway?

There was pretty much never a comic you needed to read anything prior to, to "get".
"Look sir; Droids!"
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
I don't know, I've played a lot of games that were supposedly finished that were rough and shitty.
STATE OF EMERGENCY, ANYONE?
You basically beat me to that.
I'm a little upset.
