First post ever  So ya, though I'd show you guys what I'm messing around with these days.
You can probably tell i was thinking about Dreanei here from the WoW series. This i a 3D Image using 3DsMax and ZBrush.
I'm in a HL IB-Art course that involves me doing about 20-30 peices of work in two years and they revolve around a theme, mine being Personifacation of Nature. I'll post some of my other stuff here when I get the time, things like a cheetah mixed with a horse though only made out of Vines (Not finished, though my drawing of it is finished and i'll be moving on to painting it soon.) Also a teen like girl morphed with a crow. So on...
ZBrush is a bitch to use at first, isn't it? Basically, you take everything you know about 3D, and 3D software interfaces, and you throw it out the window and start from scratch :P
I'd like to see the original Max wireframes, just to see your geometry... out of curiosity.
The model could definitely do with some refinement, it seems to have some pretty unrealistic looking facial features... kinda like you've just gone nuts with ZBrush without really thinking too much about a realistic facial structure.
I gotta run now, but if you post more work, I will try to give more crits when I log in tomorrow.

That was my first thought.
I'd work on adjusting the face/head into a more realistic structure. Also, play close attention to the curves on the surface - you seem to have just put random bumps around the cheeks, for example.
Ya, I'll post some more work. For the moment I'm in school, so I'm unable to. I have looked at the structure of the face and I want to fix the nose and mouth mainly because they appear to be to... "unrealistic". I'm teaching myself how to use these pieces of software, Zbrush being a rather new program to me and it's the first time I have used it.
When I get the time, I'll post a Wire-Frame render from 3DsMax. The above render is just some play with the head in Zbrush to see what I could pull off as a beginner for it. For her I have atually created the entire body and she has been given bones, really nice for changing poses.
More crit. analysis you guys give me the better my work and the better my over-all grade for my Art Course ;-)
Regardless of your intention of making this unrealistic, your face has reasons for looking the way it does. Your lips are not pieces of flesh attached to your face, they're simply a change in pigment as the flesh of your face ends around your mouth hole (with slight exception, what I mean to say is that they're not "attached" like clay addons, like ears, for example...). Unless you intend this creature to have more of a beak, the mouth you've installed seems to be simply an incorrect realization of what lips are.
Sorry I haven't been to active lately. The model wasn't done in ZBrush, only the texture. Model was from 3DsMax. Modeled out of one planes. I knoew of the unrealistic parts, which is mainly why I did it. To improve on my weakness's. One of you were interested in the wire frame, so here it is below.
I have modeled the intire body, though I'm sketchy right now on it. Not to sure how to do hands properly. I'm trying though
This attempt was probably my best, takes practice I guess with knowing where to start.
This was a project I was doing, and I decided to make a nice picture for it.
Then this was when I was playing WoW, I attempted a Ragnaros.
How are those, some early stuff I did. I'll show some actual drawing later though, really busy atm lol.

As TB said, I want to see the mesh you started with, man.
