Summoning experience I had this morning.
I summoned someone this morning on impulse after kindling the bonfire at painted world. Last night I had fought through most of the early area, killed phalanx, opened up the shortcut, taken on the pinwheels down below including those tunnels which were HOLY SHIT etc.
At the start he bowed. My dragon head man did nothing, because pressing select wasn't working. I was standing on a message so I tried backing up a bit, but it didn't work. He bows again, clearly wondering what kind of idiot he got summoned into. He attacks near me with his weapon then starts wandering off just as I figured out why I couldn't press select and chose a bow. As soon as the bow happened he paused, so I know he had to have kept the camera on me.
Then finally I was ready and sprinted past him up the stairs, parried the first zombies jumping attack, riposte with my claw, parried the next one coming from the side, then backstabbed the third, without getting touched, all before he could even swing his greatsword.
We headed in and took out the right side of torch zombies, looted stuff and then jeramiah spawned. He walks up and faces off to him, mano a mano, shield at the ready, preparing for normal npc combat. I sprint straight past the both of them and backstab jeramiah, then tear him apart with my claws after he gets up, before he can react.
Then we went and took out phalanx again.
He focused on a single area, while I was running around the whole area clawing bits of phalanx looking the other way, backflipping out of range and not taking a scratch.
At this point I wasn't really sure who was helping who. I had to estus flask for him a couple of times. He wasn't incompetent or anything. I just have a completely merciless and aggressive playstyle so if a thing can be killed fast I kill it and I have to learn how to avoid their attacks with rolls as a matter of course.
After phalanx was cleaned up he headed on down to the pinwheel skeleton area. Now I was thinking "Wait no I've looted that whole area" but I followed him anyway. He was careful about only aggroing a few pinwheels at a time. While I chased one he chased the other. Eventually we cleared the room. At this point I was confused, then he walks up to a pillar and a cutscene happens showing the door of another place opening. Realisation dawned.
We head down this area, me being slightly more cautious since I didn't know this area yet. We take out the zombies fairly handily, but I accidentally triggered a zombie clambering over the edge ambush going for a zombie further ahead. When I finished with that one the zombies were surrounding him and I was all "bugger". Then wham he takes them all out with one blow.
Apparently he could fight quite well. I just wasn't letting him.
On the black knight I dodged most of its attacks but got tagged by one accidentally. Soon as I did he suddenly busts out this spell that obliterated it. And I think "This guy has got some firepower stored away in there if I give him time to use it."
Then it was time for priscilla.
He let me talk to her. Then we walked around the outside and he shot a soul arrow at her. Priscilla didn't react at all, so I gathered that summons can't help.
Deciding that I don't really give a damn about anyone in this game I started tearing into her with my lightning claws. She goes invisible. We both spread out immediately, circling the room.
Then I saw a splash, quite a distance from me, followed by a weird sound and then a tink as something hit the ground near me. I had already backflipped reflexively after hearing the sound so it missed. Knowing what to look for now, I started strafing around watching for the splash then immediately attacking where I saw it with dashing attacks. The other guy was wandering around but was very cautious. He was probably thinking "Be careful!" to himself as I'm swinging at air.
Finally I saw one close enough to me and went to town with my lightning claw. She tried to move away but the lightning effect showed her outline, so I was able to follow her and keep going until I ran out of stamina.
I lost her briefly after that, then got randomly hit by something. I thought "GOT YOU CHUMMY" and immediately attacked the place where I had had got hit, turning her invisible with that next set of combos. After that it was easy to take her down.
I wonder what that guy thought of the random dragon head guy with the lightning claw who was sprinting and backflipping all over the place obliterating everything, then tore into an invisible boss giving no fucks.
He probably thought I had played the game before. But I clearly had no idea where the opening for that bridge was and was more cautious when we went over the bridge. So I probably confused him a lot.
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
if you throw a talisman at a mimic, it opens its mouth and you can safely take the item out

You can use this to farm their rare drop as well, which turns your entire head into a mimic. It also boosts item find and maybe soul drop but those are tertiary benefits at best. Treasure chest head is where it's at.

There's speculation that the Symbol is guaranteed to drop from the last mimic you kill. So far, this has happened in both of my playthroughs that got that far.
has anyone used the Black Knight Greataxe recently and can comment on how badly it has been nerfed? One of the wikis says it has, but doesn't get into specifics, and I'm curious if it'd be worth me going back into the catacombs to try and get for this high strength and faith character. Love the way it looks.

The hardest part is getting to Lower Undead Berg to free the Sorc dude. Then it's tolerable with his spells. Then you get to Sen's and free Big Hat Logan AND WHOA WE GOT A BADASS OVER HERE.
And that feeling continues for the rest of the game.
Edit: Oh, and you can safely kill the Four Kings after getting Big Hat's spells(With Beatrice's help, of course. )
And make sure you don't past SL 55.
Tearing through Shaq and Kobe on a Sorc that was summoned is the BESTEST feeling.

As of one of the earlier patches, monsters that only have a fixed number of spawns in the game (Butchers, Mimics, Necromancers, etc) will automatically drop whatever it is that they carry when you kill the last one. The Mimic(s?) in the DLC areas don't count towards this one way or the other, only the monsters in the main game world.

Oh, so that's confirmed then?
Cool.
All I could find was a few commenters saying, "Hey, this seems to happen."

would anybody be able to help me figure out why dark souls won't work when it try to stream?
Anor Londo, probably. Either with the 6 iron guardians near the firekeeper's fireplace, or just wandering about before Howard and Costello. Getting summoned for those two should also be pretty good.
If you have a spell strong enough to one-shot them, you can make 4500 souls per ~50 seconds from the three sentinels between the entrance to Anor Londo and its first bonfire.
I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.

No.
He pointed directly at me.
I imagined it was like when you stare at someone and draw your finger across your throat.
He kinda just stood there for a while, and I decided to not wait around to find out what his deal was.
that actually sounds intimidating
maybe that's all he does
just pops in and scares the shit out of low SL characters

This is real fun covenant.
He did not seem to know how to dodge.
I'm sorry, dude, but there was nothing I could do to protect you from getting hit in the back as you ran.

I guess I'll go to sen's?
after you aggro CD, run all the way back to the fog wall
when you get there wait for him to do a jump and a fist slam
hit his fist like 6 times and he will die
congrats on a bunch of souls and sequence breaking

If that narrow flame spray hits you, you die. It breaks your guard and is pretty much a guaranteed kill.
