I am always amazed at godlike Gootecks is at Third Strike and how he could never get great at SFIV. He was one of the top players for the first two months maybe and then just couldn't keep up. I think it's just he never found a character that really clicked with him like Urien did.

nina, asuka, paul, a bunch of others have a move (usually b+1+3_b+2+4) where if you stick out a limb, they grab it and break it. That's a counter or reversal

Parries just wave the attack away, like wang's b+1, law's punch parry that I don't remember the command for, etc.
