1997 is when we first encountered Star Wars Special Edition.

Regardless of everything that Special Edition kicked off, being able to see Star Wars in a movie theater was the purest of joys for ten-year-old me

In 1997, two films that John Hughes wrote the screenplay for debuted: Flubber and Home Alone 3.

Damnit John, you needed to get back to directing.

real talk: Friends was pretty terrible

No, although it started getting steadily worse in 1997. Then again, I also like Sliders.

seinfeld might be the greatest show to ever run on television

do you watch Comedians in Cars getting Coffee

there are a few misses there but it's mostly great

the one Jerry does with Alec Baldwin is especially good

I watched Friends from the beginning and really liked it
But I can name the exact joke that turned me off forever

Someone was talking about the Ice Capades but they just called it "the Capades" solely so Chandler could make a joke about there being gravel Capades. It struck me as so lazy and forced it opened my eyes to how many jokes on the show were exactly that bad.

I said needed. Like, he should have done it. He could have been a great directing force if he teamed up with recent young blood.

But he no longer can, for he is dead.

Too bad there's no way to direct like you can write. Walking through the bookstore recently, I find a new book. It's a Doctor Who novel (sorta) written by Douglas Adams. Authors keep getting old unreleased material put on the market long after they're gone.

I get into situations where there is frequently comedy
Doesn't make my life a sitcom

I'm all in with my shitty, patchy beard. I don't know what a utilikit is, though.

I'm more at the "comfortable sweater, 1970's leftist" end of the beard spectrum.

    Fuck off and die.
