Ha, I just cleared out New Londo - took my time with the ghosts, got the key to the seal, etc. Then I remembered I didn't get the ring yet... I REALLY want to do the new content w/ Sif first so I can see the different movie. Guess it's back to Manus. I may just level up to 100 before the fight, cause that shit is hard for me. If anyone beat him melee / magic - let me know if you have any tips.

Just dodge his attacks instead of trying to block them all and tag him a couple times when he whiffs. He really likes to keep the pressure up, so you won't have any time to counterattack if you try to hide behind your shield the whole time. The flip ring might help, although I don't know how feasible it would be for you to get down to 25% equip load.

Having the npc summon helped a lot, to occasionally distract him to give me time to heal up. If you can get a human summon as well that would make it a lot easier, just as with all the other bosses.
For melee, try to keep back from him. Your main opening will be when he smashes his fist down in front of him, keep just out of range of that then hit his fist a few times with your weapon. This tactic will also keep you far enough back to avoid his huge six-hit combo. Since you're using magic then that combo might give you enough time to cast a few spells at him as well, as long as you are out of range of the last two big hits.
Make sure you have the silver pendant as well, and use that when he casts his spells.
1)Kill the Hydra in Darkroot Basin
2)Kill the golden golem in the cave past it to free Dusk (probably will need to reload for it to spawn)
3)Summon dusk once (not sure if necessary, but it will spawn her set) from her sign on the beach (make sure the crystal golems are dead so they can't kill her)
4)Kill the blue golem at the entrance to the Duke's Archives to get the Broken Pendant
5)Return to where you freed Dusk and examine the purple glowy thing
6)Die horribly to the Sanctuary Guardian

Thanks for the tips. What weapon did you use? Cause my best spells and weapons did barely any damage. I feel like the fight would be a good 10 minutes, assuming I can actually keep up the dodges. I did grab the flip ring, so I can try that out since my sorcery isn't going to win the fight (normally rock the sorc boost ring for bosses).

I think I was using an Uchigatana at +10 at the time, but really whatever the best you have available. I don't think he's affected by bleeding or poison or anything. If you're mostly Int then basically whatever weapon you like the moveset of turned into a Magic or Enchanted. I'd suggest the Moonlight Greatsword, but if you wanted to talk to Kaathe and also see Sif's different cutscene then yeah...
Maybe the Moonlight Butterfly Horn? I've never used it, but it does straight magic damage and scales completely off of Int as well.

It's a bit lacking in base damage, which hurts its scaling - it'll never be a primary weapon, but it can shield poke, so...
Velka's is strictly better. I have seriously messed up an unbelievable number of zweibros with that thing.
Moonlight's is stronger in magic damage, and I suspect the int scaling is on the magic.
Velka's scales off three stats, gets more damage total with only slightly less magic damage (more after stat scaling is factored), and has a better moveset overall. It's a fantastic weapon that not many people use.
Is that whole "suck you in and drain humanity" attack even possible to dodge? As soon as they start the spinning animation, I start rolling backwards but he just rushes up to me and goes "haha nope!"
There was a steam sig here. It's gone now.

Yes, same with the undodgeable attack, you have to back up really really far really quickly. Its tough to avoid.
Man, there are no white phantom helpers available for the 4 kings ng+, but plenty of invaders.
I put on havel's armor and tanked it. They did surprisingly little damage, while couldn't stun me, so I just wailed on them until they stopped living.
That's what I did for
Smough & Ornstein. Havel's Armor, Havel's Ring, plus my haute couture Ring of Favor. Basically turned myself into a battlemech and slit them up a treat.[/quote]
"Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are." - Bertolt Brecht
Just beat the kings with my sorc, while wearing a dress (level 65ish though). Magic was hitting them hard, but my sword was too so I stuck with that. Much easier this time around. I just have the final boss now I think, but I haven't done the painted world yet so I'll probably clear that as well. I like the invader in there too.
They caught me with it once on NG+. Did about half my hp in damage wearing light, but upgraded, armor. My uchigatana+greater magic weapon made short work of them though, although I did have 2 up at once due to the aforementioned grab and suck which kept me from killing them. I think they are immune to the bleed effect though since I never did see a large jump in their hp. The first one killed me 3 times in a row with just a bad combination of moves, just poor luck for me really. Once I made it past the first one the rest went down almost without a fight, still had 10 flasks left.
In PVP news I joined the Darkwraiths since that was the last covenant achievement I needed and decided to get the Dark armor and try doing some invading. I guess at my SL I should have been better prepared. Got 2v1 literally the instant I spawned in Anor Londo twice. The second time they were both wearing full Dark armor themselves. The only time the player died while I was invading it was actually a Darkmoon who got the kill, I was running toward them when the player went down. So I left it and switched back to sunbro for more medals.
You'll see a lot of that in Anor Londo. I would say I was 1v3 70% of the time while invading there.
You'll have more fun in other spots until you're practiced enough that winning 1v3 is consistently doable.
Fought them about 10 times tonight. From what I'm gathering, it's a slot-machine boss. Get lucky and they do the dodge-able attacks? Hey, you might get them below half health. Unlucky? Hope you didn't have any plans other than rolling and drinking estus flasks, because that's all you'll be doing for the next few minutes until all 4 of them are active and overwhelm you.

This worked for me: get a ton of poise (to stop them knocking you out of attack animations). Keep yourself under 50% weight (because you won't be using a shield). 2 hand the meanest weapon you can (forget reach or movesets, focus on making big numbers appear). Use fire resin or a fire weapon (they really don't like fire). Hug whichever King you're busy fighting (all their moves except the death hug deal a LOT MORE DAMAGE the further away from them you are). If you're too busy rolling away from attacks, being cautious or drinking estus you will not win. You either go in hard with an overwhelming focus on offense...or you'll lag behind and face multiple kings at the same time. In essence you want to forget everything the game has taught you about boss fights thus far and treat this like you're playing God of War.
After failing a few times I finally managed to win wearing mostly Havel's + a furysword.
I've got 16 str and like 30 dex or something and I'm mostly putting the rest of the points in dex up to 40.
Should I start upgrading the Pharis' bow I just got or keep on truckin with my Long bow? I can't for the life of me figure out how scaling works in reality.
Is there any covenant that gives goodies an Int character would want? I'm currently sunbro because I like helping people and because I get to be homies with Solaire, but all these miracles are not exactly useful to a dude with 8 Faith :P.

Nope. I would just stay in the sunbros for the easier summoning.

If you're never gonna touch Str again, then Pharis will be your bow for the rest of the game. Slap that puppy to +15 and never look at another bow again.
If you're going to get your Str up too then you should look into the other two super bows. I'm almost at 40 dex/30 Str, then I'll do some comparisons. Not sure I'll be getting the DLC bow though, the dragon boss is a whoreson.
Sigh. Killed the Firesage and the Centipede, first try without breaking a sweat. Tried the Bed of Chaos 3 times. Jesus no. I'm not reclearing my way through a mile of shit of every time I want to attempt that thing. Game quality kinda dips near the end: I went from killing undead kings and heroes in super memorable battles to fighting a tree who's only noteworthy attack is the scenery.
There is a secret bonfire in one of the templey things in amongst the lava. From there you can basically run past everything bar the weird thingy that attacks you as you head up the stairs. It's about a minute thirty tops to run to bed of chaos from there.

I'll probably not put more in str, it was only there for the drake sword. The rest goes into Dex and later End I guess.
Thanks for the advice, Imma be upgradin like a madman this afternoon.

Ah well. I'll leave the sunbros for a while to open the Izalith shortcut (for obvious reasons) and then come backto them, then.
Also, considering going for Velka's Rapier, but having to put four more in dexterity is a bit of a pain. I'm still at 11 Vitality, hell's sake, I wanted to raise it!

Dammit, I was going to post this.
Yes, texture overrides are starting to pop up. Two notable ones from GAF:
Demons Souls' boss messages (The Demon Was Destroyed, You Revived To Human, etc): http://www.sendspace.com/file/lg5uxj
High Res Text Font (recommended!): http://www.sendspace.com/file/db2k57
There's also work to change the boss message back to "You Defeated", if you're that kind of person. Otherwise, can't wait to see what else pops up.

yeah, I think that's close enough. I'm actually level 42 or somewhere in there.
