So I've been unemployed for awhile now, having the shittiest luck finding anything out job related. I'm about to lose my apartment I'm estranged from my family since my mother died. I caught myself looking at bridges to sleep under in case of emergency. I live in an area that I know no one. I know I'm just like a lot of Americans jobless at the moment.
I really don't know what to do, my savings is tapped, I don't have a high level education I've got an associates degree. I feel so lost and like that rope i've been holding onto so long is about to slip away. I'm sure this'll get deleted since I'm not actually asking for advice I just wanted someone to spill it out at 2:30am with this massive stress headache.
The friends I've got which are great friends are scattered through-out the world and I don't want to bother them with it. Anyways I'll shut up now. Thanks for reading if you did so much more to tell but this headache is killing me and the screen on my phone is blinding my eyes.

I'd suggest that if you really need a paycheck, you are in decent shape, and are willing to move to try the armed forces. Maybe a stint in the airforce or army would give you the do over and/or experience you need to get your life going again. And if nothing else...if you are willing to put in the time the pension you can earn for timed serve in the military is not bad and can help out a bit. Its not for everybody obviously but it is worth keeping in mind.
of course it's not. not supposed to be something you live off of, just get by with. but they usually offer job placement programs at local unemp centers, or at least they've done that in nj. think of it like a temp agency but they don't take a cut. the work isn't going to be anything stimulating or much more lucrative, but it's work and you can still collect supplemental unemp if you're not making too much.
I know it's a crappy way to make money, but are you selling plasma?
They won't take you if you tell them you have asthma and you need to have sufficient protein in your system (eggs and peanut butter are cheapest).

yeah I'm not the healthiest person either heh. I'll figure something out I always do I think I just need more friends in the area that I can hang out with, have a beer with.

AFAIK people don't pay for plasma anymore.
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

Depends where you are. We have a local business that buys plasma, because there's a huge need around here. Back at the worst part of the recession, people used to line up outside the business as early as 7 AM and wrap around the building I heard advertisements for them as recently as a couple months ago.
For the OP: That's a shitty situation, to say the least. Is the reason behind the family estrangement insurmountable? I have a friend who has been estranged from his family for a while now after his dad died, but I finally got him to talk to his family and they realized that the bridges weren't as burnt as they thought. Without knowing your exact situation I can't say if that will help.. And if they feel you are just looking for a handout, then they will be less likely to help.
Have you looked into cheaper apartments? Or a storage unit for your stuff? Or, heck, even selling your stuff in a pinch.
As for bothering your friends: Again, just like your family, your true friends will be there for you. I had another friend who had his house burn down and he lost everything. I gave him $100 on the spot for emergencies, knowing he had insurance coming but he'd have to fight for it. I would've given more / offered a room if I could've. I don't want to see any of my friends homeless, and I'm willing to bet your friends are the same way. Hell, some of them might even have local job prospects if you can put together the money to hike cross-country.
Finally, keep in mind that there are a lot of agencies out there that can help you. Unemployment offices usually have listing of local employers and can offer assistance with hunting. Religious groups can give counselling and assist in the hunt, and places like the YMCA can even give shelter in an emergency. There are similar organizations for other religions or for purely non-religious groups.
Above all else: It is not a reflection on you to ask for help. If anything, admitting you need help is a sign of strength. You must take care of yourself first and foremost, and stay positive no matter how shitty things get. Everyone says "Fake it till you make it".. well, they mean it. It worked for me.

Well Maybe things will look up just got a call for an interview for a job in my field (advertising). Thanks for the advice it means a lot
You'll be alright man. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you feel need it though, it'll give someone a chance to feel really happy. Trust me, just keep your mind focused on the distance and relax in the knowledge it'll pass, because sure as shit it will. You'll be back to small worries in no time

I would echo the armed forces if this new interview doesn't work out. At worst, it'll give you some life experience, some physical training and fitness, as well as improving general health (always a plus), it will give you a roof over your head and income for a few years, and it can even lead to a new career if you find you enjoy it.
How did the interview go? Wish I got to this sooner to give you some pointer in advertisement and good talking points.

I hope that the interview went well, my man. I'm in a similar field myself.
But doing freelance for small organizations is a good way to get your stuff going. I've done stuff for dirt cheap for some close friends who have then passed my name along to bigger clients that's really helped out.
I only do it part-time and work at a pizza place for steady cash since this is just a very much still in the works young business.
I also sell plasma, it's usually a big thing in college towns but I know in this area they give about ~60 a week to customers. Pays for my case and a case of beer if everything else is taken care of.
I get you want to find a job, but if you're trying to make ends meet maybe you should lower your standards for the time being to find something that pays. It sucks to do certain jobs, but if it keeps a roof over your head I think it's worth it and those places are always hiring.
