I will launch my first Album in 2 weeks on itunes, ONErpm and 18 more music selling sites. It may be pressed on jully 2013, ...so, for now I just need the cover image faster as possible...
The first title would be Night Ride, then it was changed to Dystopian Future... and now my cover do not fit.
Concept that I have now
HELP PLEASE!
Well, I would say that throwing concepts at you would be the kind of thing one might expect payment for. Which is probably why you're not seeing anyone rush to your help over here.
Right now all I know about the album is its previous and current title, and that the new cover doesn't match the title, even with your changes.
No offense but it doesn't really look like you took much time in the planning/thumbnail/concept stage. Looks like a photo with some text slapped on. Covers should give the person looking at it a hint as to what kind of music it is.
The story of this album:
4 months ago I started doing a soundtrack for a game. But I still have the copyrights of the tracks, the soundtrack of the game will have other artists too.
I have a lots of visits and retweets about my soundtrack, one extreme-sports tv program bought the right to use the "Injection", now I am doing music to 2 indie movies (one zombie movie will use the "city escape" as the main theme) and one company here will promote one album in trade to use part the "Run" track in a Tv add.
So... I am not a visual artist. I do not do musics for living. I am a Dentist.
But I do nice songs.
The music is retrofuturistic, I think.
I use some 90´s style on all tracks.
No matter how much crap, grunge, torn and distressed edges you put on this cover, the concept does not work. Why do you insist on saving this, come up with a new concept. If you're expecting we're gonna develop a concept, you might have unrealistic expectations.
I suppose that you're not using the image of the game because of legal issues. But, why not change the cover image to your impression of a Dystopian Future.
With the track you provided, it makes the cover look like the complete opposite of what you should be going for. Perhaps go back to the drawingboard with a better set of objectives to get the feel that you want?
The text is giving off a really happy clean vibe, which seems contradictory to the subject matter. Also it looks like you just used a stock photo of a Ford Fusion, and threw some random effects around that I'm not really sure what they're supposed to be. The music is grimy and industrial so something in that direction would make more sense.
The car, and even the location you quote in that google search dont say "dystopian future" to me. But whats more interesting, is that the music doesnt say "dystopian future" to me at all. It has a very strong feel of cyberpunk and steampunk, urban post-apocaliptic, industrial, etc. But when I think "dystopia" I think first and foremost of a message, social critique, or some kind of cryptic warning. While all I can find the music is industrial/techno/grunge imagery.
If I was you, I would go for the overpopulated, post-apocaliptic, urban landscape. I am very sure that you can find some excellent sources of inspiration for that kind of enviroment in your country, wich would give you the advantage of knowing where to look, and how to conceptually use those images to wich you have full understanding of the background and meaning.
And two weeks is not much time to come with a professional looking concept, and then producing such concept into a quality image, not even for someone who works creating images.
Yes, with a quick verbal "boom." You take a man's peko, you deny him his dab, all that is left is to rise up and tear down the walls of Jericho with a ".....not!" -TexiKen
FANTOMAS
Man! You realy helped me here. In fact, I did musics to a dystopian world game, but the tracks, separated from the game, are not dystopian at all!
The tittle is the main problem!...
what I have to figure out is a techno/grunge/industrial title... to put instead of Dystopian future!
and still looks 90´s...
I sent the pic to the producer... that loved it...
The album is now on ONErpm https://www.onerpm.com/#/disco/album&album_number=202163926 and due the number of individual track buys at the last 24 hours it will be on more 83 (not 18 anymore) music sites (from itunes to beatport...) on the next month.
So... this post is just to say how it worked nice on the end.
Thank you again, and I hope I can have a nice idea to post on a forum and help other artist same way you helped me!
First time I listen your musics was on shadowrun forum.
Chum, this cover is FREAKING AWESOME!!!! Why dont you put a post on c4clube.com? They are all VTR addicts and a cover with a VTR image will make them favorite your post and facebook viralize and prmote your album!
And how did you do that nostalgious damage effects? They look so real! I wanna do it on my steampunk things...
@vector
I grunged a square of the same size and material as a cd cover (with papers of the same material but white, under the first black paper), then put greased fingers and did all damaging stuff. Then, merged two picks... it will be kinda lame if someone say that the damages are not realistic, because they had been done on real world. After merging, I did the yellow light damage to apply on all layers same way.
I create the tracks and launch it digitaly, other company here on Brazil will produce it on the promotion aspect and fisical press of the cd... they have a pack of service to indy artists...
Did you create the Vector99 account so that you could make it seem like somebody actually has something to say about this? Because your IP addresses are very similar and @Vector99 just happened to sign up for this forum two days ago and has only posted in this thread. And you both seem to have some issues with English.
What??? Are you sure? We are from the same country (Brazil), but not from the same city. I know that doing this kind of thing is your job as a moderator, but I can assure you that this thing did not happen. If you check a few comments up, I had already finished this tread. (and I dont find how I can close it... I do not need help with the cover anymore... and it is kinda disturbing seeing it asking for help "crywolfing" with my face attached... if you catch what I mean)... But as a moderator you can help me now. How I can finish the thread?

Thats just a starting point, not even near the final project.

Anyway, yeah. I'd start from scratch at this point.

Wisdom Teeth? Gum Line, maybe. Third Molar.
I need it to be dark...and grunge
and resemble the 90´s....
so... I decided to keep the old name. Night Ride, and I have a track with the same name...
Mayday, earthworm, toaster, supabeast, symbolsor, and Fantomas... each word helped me to finish it. Thanks alot!
