It was a gorgeous game with a watercolor style that actually worked (suck it, Nintendo and Skyward Sword), it had an amazing soundtrack, combat was strategic and involved without being overly complex, the game had 45 playable characters that, while not all being completely unique, all had little personality quirks and speech patterns unique to them, the story was great
Shifting dimensions felt so much better than time-shifting in CT because everything was so wildly different in CT's plotline that it just felt like completely new areas rather than altered versions of the same
Battles were fast-loading and from an artistic standpoint I feel it's probably the best work Square ever did
It is just so. Fucking. Good.
But what do I know, I thought CT was massively overrated and thought CC was a great breath of fresh air

SSX 2012 was good fun but it just didn't last, and it was far-removed from the feel of old SSX games
As for why that enthusiasm isn't there anymore, it's because extreme sports games aren't good anymore!

wow what is the hate for resident evil. i thought resident evil 5 was amazing, i loved it.
granted i have not played RE6 yet, will be playing tonight. but my god i have never heard such hard ridiculous unfair bashing of this game.
the bottom line is BRAD SUCKS AT GAMES period. he sucks so bad that he takes his anger out on the game being that there is something wrong with the game that is the reason that it sucks. for example Deadly Premonition, fun little game, that Brad bashed because he SUCKS.

Batman is by far the best-looking character in the Arkham games. In fact I like this Batman better than all other Batmans. I get the criticism about the other characters, especially the females (though really all the males look okay), but if you're extending it to Batman himself, it's just not valid.

I liked arkham asylum well enough but didn't even bother with arkham city because I was just fed up with absolutely everything looking as stupid as it was possible for them to make it look
I found the art style more tolerable in Arkham City because everyone was wearing coats. Gordon looked ridiculous in Asylum. Cover him up with a poncho and he looks fine.

Their Batmanness completely soaks every single part of the games, it's completely ingrained in everything the games are. If you took the Batman out of them you would have nothing left.

I still say that I will be utterly shocked if they completely abandon the tone and style they've established with the Arkham games in the next game.
They used the term "silver age" (and I'm not even sure any of the devs have used that term, it was just the journalists reporting on what the devs hinted at), so everyone is assuming a more cartoony and "pure" art style to the game, but I think they'll want to retain at least some connection to the existing games. A complete shift in design would be strange, given how well the two games have done, despite some people not really digging on the character designs.
