Now, I just finally started watching this show despite being told by @Keith that I should be watching it for over a year. I'm almost done with season 1 now so let's keep spoilers hidden please.

This show is incredible. One of the best written shows I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.

This show has a literal fuckton of amazing characters and I'm too lazy to put up pics for all of them. It's 5 seasons and ended in 2008. If you have HBO Go (like me) then you owe it to yourself to watch this show. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

    There are a lot of details in this show. Not the kind of thing you can watch while doing something else.

    You've got to focus.

    Also, this show makes me want to say fuck a lot.

    My favorite part from season 1 so far
    When Bunk and McNulty are working the crime scene from D's murder of the girl and the only word they exchange over and over is fuck. I'm amazed that scene actually worked and worked incredibly well.

    the ending montage is absolutely my favorite thing because every character's ending except maybe michael's (and i'd even argue in favor of his) is absolutely perfect

    I haven't seen season 4 of 5 yet but I accidentally stumbled on a spoiler about an event that kinda pissed me off. Still excited to see it but it simply won't have the weight that it would have had otherwise.

    was surprising and I wasn't sure how I felt about it only because I just didn't know how it was going to work with a character like that. Fortunately, I was COMPLETELY wrong to ever question it and Omar is absolutely awesome.

    I wish HBO had an interface more like Netflix where it keeps track of the shows I've watched and what episode I'm on. It's really cumbersome to use right now.

    Due to me putting this on while I played Minecraft, I only had a vague understanding of what was going on and got bored halfway through season 1. I feel like I have done myself a disservice and will probably watch it again

    The show isn't continious between seasons right? I could just start watchiong season 2 at the would be fine, right?

    No that is a bad idea. Go back and re-watch season one.

    What's really cool about The Wire is characters are introduced very organically and there's an ebb and flow to which ones take the main stage as the plot progresses.

    Each season has it's own arc, but they build on one another, so it's worth it.

    I still need to finish season 4 and 5.
