Finished the Bunker quest with Angel, my thoughts in order (spoilers ahoy!):
First, oh wow Angel is a Siren that's neat. That's 4/5 so far that we know then.
She's Handsome Jack's daughter? That, hmm. He sounded desperate to save her but after Bloodwing and what he did to Angel I didn't feel guilty.
Lilith, why are you here? Angel told you not to come. This is going to end badly.
Yay Vault Key, I guess endgame now? Wait... this was all too easy it feels like I think something is going to-
NOOOO ROLAND
And you took Lilith?
Handsome Jack, you went from smarmy funny jackass to the worst (and therefore one of the best) villains.
Oh, huh. This is the next area? Yeah I'm getting Caustic Cavern vibes I'm taking a break.
What's the deal with launchers with bayonets on the end of them, anyway? They trigger a different melee animation than normal, like most bladed weapons, but it doesn't have the +50% melee damage listed on its stats. Is it a hidden bonus, or is that just for kicks?
My Siren is currently using one of those shields that adds a big chunk of damage to your next shot after your shield recharges to full, a shotgun (which applies said modifier to each bullet), and max ranks in the kill skill that recharges your shields. I'm two-shotting bosses two levels above me and one-shotting everything else.
What's the longbow grenade modifier do again? I vaguely remember it being useful in BL1.

Longbow teleports the grenade to the target location.

So I got this today, installed it, and uh it runs like balls on my machine. Not sure why. It also takes an extraordinarily long time to actually load. Menus are also very laggy.
I don't think it is the game, because I'd imagine I'd have heard about it.
I got a 3.6 processor, Nvidia 560 2gigs, and 8 gigs of ram. From everything I've seen I should be able to run this full bore without much fuss.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
So am I missing something or is rubberized still a big red "do not use" flag like I thought it was in the first game? I saw a really sweet grenade and bought it and then realized on first cast that I had ignored the title and it was rubberized and thus quickly ran away from the enemies. Why would you ever want rubberized over anything else?
So did the existence of Sirens ever get explained and I missed it?
Or do they just exist for no apparent reason?
Blurb from the guide for the first game, note that they later changed the number of sirens from down to 6 like Handsome Jack says in BL2.
So far only 13 people have publicly demonstrated so called "magical" abilities, all of whom are women. Due to the gender bias, these gifted individuals are often called "Witches" or "Sirens," although no official term exists. Studying the cause of these women's powers has proven difficult, as they are always prone to wanderlust and have little patience for extending scientific probing. Lilith claims her powers come from crossing the "Hotness Threshold." "Any woman as good looking as me can do what I do." Is her official statement for such inquiry. The other gifted women offer equally useful explanations to their powers.
So, a thing I do now is to always keep a Tediore in my quick-select. Even if it's a somewhat sub-optimal gun for normal use, in the event that I drop, I can just shoot once, throw, shoot once, throw, repeat at the nearest baddie. It has saved my ass more than once.(I shoot a few times with elementals, though, to try and get that sweet sweet DOT. Another thing that's saved me more than once.)
Also, sidequests this time around are better. I feel like I'm not drowning in them and they're just more entertaining overall. Doing all of them will overlevel you though. Not by too much, and not nearly as bad as the first game. I've just finished the Bunker mission and I've been doing every sidequest and I'm almost Level 32, which is a bit ahead of the curve.

Tediore rockets are the most amazing thing for this very reason. Bad Ass War Loader got you down? Spray a rocket every second for 12 seconds because fuck tha po-leese.
so what is e-tech good for? I just got a slag/e-tech SMG and realized I have no idea why energy weapons are good in this game or what they do thats different from normal bullets.
Really the more open maps I think is what makes snipers more viable, you are actually at ranges that make them worthwhile. Even the bandit arena lets you open up.
I sort of hate how good sniper rifles are in this. Its just pew pew headshot headshot headshot. Whats the point of going close in? Its safer and does shittons more damage not to...

Game finished. Very satisfied. Plot shit:
Not entirely sure how I feel about it. I liked it, but I feel like it could have possibly been more than it was. Handsome Jack was a great villain through the first two thirds, just an over-the-top smarmy asshole taken to ridiculous extremes and I loved every second of his taunting. But then after the AI core segment, he got really serious and actually kind of intimidating. It was jarring to see him go from silly to sobering, and I was really looking forward to seeing where they went with him. But then by the end he was kind of slipping back into the silliness (especially in his boss fight), and they kind of tried to straddle the line with him and it ended up being less than what it could have been. Oh well. Still my favorite video game villain this year.
Got me into so much trouble. Here there were all these mission robots three levels above me, but I just didn't CARE! What's that Mr. Badass Loader? You wanna kill me?
...WELL IT'S GONNA BE HARD AFTER I BLOW OFF BOTH YOURS ARMS A SHOT AT A TIME! YOU LIKE THAT ACID? DO YA?!! DO YA?!!!!! DRINK IT UP BUDDY!
I dislike robots either requiring a lot of damage or shooting their critical places... unless you have corrosive. F*ck em'!

In the low 20s now and I just cannot find a good assault rifle to save my life. I ran across several spinigun-type ARs up until around level 10 and now I just can't find any decent ARs; everything is either the "shoot as fast you pull the trigger" types that I hate, crappy ARs with no traits or good stats, or double/triple-shot ARs with crap accuracy and/or low damage.
On the other hand, I did just find this earlier:
So you might ask what the "Octo means 9" bit is for. Well, I have no idea what it literally means, but the effect is that you fire 8 shots in a block pattern that spread out and converge to a point like a wave, and they do that until they hit something. Oh, and it's fire elemental. And it's also a grenade-reloader, which explodes into fire elemental damage.

My friend says he had a rubberized grenade that did damage with each bounce.
Is there a reason multiplayer dies whenever Steam is down for maintenance? I don't ever recall TF2 straight-up dying like this, even during Mann vs. Machine launch.
Salvador is easy mode in co op since not everyone is shooting at you when you're gunzerking up close.

I do reeeeally wish Axton's turret had an AoE revive like in the first game. It was a useless skill for solo play in BL1 since your turret went away if you went down, but my turret constantly earns me my second winds now because it can hang around.
Wish it had an AoE heal even more, though. I haven't had it happen yet, but I can easily see it being an enormous problem coming across a tough solo boss with no minions and just not having the durability to make the fight not a pain in the ass. Axton with a turret can stay up pretty much as long as there are baddies around, but it's that last one or two where things get dangerous for him.

You may have noticed that most boss fights have waves of little bros.

A question on the Premium Club stuff, I pre-ordered the game on Steam but I didn't receive any of that. Was the offer only available in specific countries? I'm in Europe.

What is your exact processor? Some have issues with Steamworks DRM games (mine did) and required motherboard BIOS updates to function normally. What you describe is similar to my issues I had with a few games (all Steamworks), so I'd check to see if your motherboard's BIOS are up to date.

I'm sure this has been pointed out plenty already, but Pony pointed out to me that all of Zero's dialog is in Haiku.

The longbow mod for the turret is amazing.
I like it very much.

I can see a suicidal gunzerker utilizing the +Downed Duration to ensure he pretty much always gets up.
