A question on the Premium Club stuff, I pre-ordered the game on Steam but I didn't receive any of that. Was the offer only available in specific countries? I'm in Europe.
I haven't heard anything about it not being available in any places. If it isn't listed when right clicking and hitting view DLC in Steam, then you don't have it.
Respecced my Axton today, got rid of Metal Storm so that I could try out rocket pods on the turret.
Hoooooollleeeeee shiiiiiiitttt.
I'm a convert now. Was originally going to focus more on the gunpowder tree and less on the turret, but I'm totally blinging out that death machine. So awesome.

Ok, checked with my friend and he did get it. I guess it's because I had the pre-order through an Nvidia code that came with a graphics card. Oh well, I think I can live without the stuff heh. Thanks in any case.
So I got this today, installed it, and uh it runs like balls on my machine. Not sure why. It also takes an extraordinarily long time to actually load. Menus are also very laggy.
I don't think it is the game, because I'd imagine I'd have heard about it.
I got a 3.6 processor, Nvidia 560 2gigs, and 8 gigs of ram. From everything I've seen I should be able to run this full bore without much fuss.
What is your exact processor? Some have issues with Steamworks DRM games (mine did) and required motherboard BIOS updates to function normally. What you describe is similar to my issues I had with a few games (all Steamworks), so I'd check to see if your motherboard's BIOS are up to date.
It is an AMD 4100 3.6Ghz.
I will check the BIOS out. Not something I normally ever think of. Either way something is up because I cannot run this game smoothly without setting the graphics to 1999.

1.5 levels. So close, and then rockety death.
Anyone else noticing that speccing the turret for +accuracy seems to increase the amount of crits it gets? Might have just been chance, but...
Devout, you are fucking awesome. Thanks a million, dude. Just jumped back into my single player campaign and the quest is completed. Remind me to send you a puppy or something.

I'm really curious if there is any point in speccing for accuracy. The turret doesn't seem to have trouble hitting....and I'm usually distracted while it's murdering stuff.

That is the exact one I have. AMD's Bulldozer CPUs got BIOS updates at the end of 2011 that fixed the issues with Steamworks games. If you check your BIOS' page out, make sure what you get is from after December 2011, otherwise it won't help. You can aslo try Orochi-CEG, a program I had to use for a few months as my motherboard manufacturer took forever to release a BIOS update. Solved most of the issues, though I still got a performance boost when the real BIOS hit.

Got the AI core, did the whole thing, turned him into a shotgun, which is awesome and then immediately turned in the Splinter Group quest and got a shotty that vastly outdistances my Murderbot Shotty

Me and my bro got to the Hyperion circle of slaughter. Got two pistols that are pure bad ass. A Dahl pistol I got from a return quest to caustic caverns. It's flavor text is "Dodge This" Fires digitized bullets that home in and explode like the needler guns.
Then I got my melee Torgue Pistol of fuck you thats why. Blow stuff up and close the distance. Activate Deception and go for my high score for "Many Must Fall". So far its 5 guys in one Deception.
Also Torgue is the best gun manufacture. Their radio commercial confirms it.
"Did you know that 97.8% of people on Pandora are not exploding right now? FUCK THAT BUY A TORGUE GUN!!! (The statements of the president of Torgue do not reflect the views of Torgue Manufacturers.)"

Keep that puppy away from Handsome Jack.
Another fun night of robot murder, another night of no oranges. That said, I'm starting to see purples drop with some regularity and I've got more top shelf guns than gun slots so I can't complain. Need a purple artifact and class mod to trip the achievement.
Speaking of achievements, no sign of Michael Mamaril in my lvl 28 siren game so far. I wasn't looking in earnest until the mid 20's, but still. Can't find the dude anywhere. Played XBox last night and bumped into him the first time I got to Sanctuary and walked into Zed's (and got a purple from him!) Have other PC players found him?
Fuck Mad Mike and his rocket launcher in an enclosed space. My rage at dying to him repeatedly was only surpassed by finally killing him and watching a blue and a purple fall into the whirlpool underneath him. fffffffff

This exact thing. Happened to us last night. Kind of an odd set up of location and reward. Means the weak one gets brought out some other time for some other character I guess.

The guns in BL2 bring back fond memories of my weapon tweaking in Forge for Marathon Infinity. A plasma rifle with zero accuracy and insane firerate that winds up shooting you sometimes? Done. A shotgun that shoots 30 bouncing grenades? Done. A rocket launcher that fires Exploda-Bobs? Done. A machine gun that fires other, smaller machine guns? Done. A pistol that fires nuclear Juggernaut explosions? Make it so.
I don't think I have even one on my friends list yet. Like 90% of the people I know are playing Zer0.
I feared as much. I feel a bit bad for picking Zer0 due to that.
But I just want to solve shooters through melee. I beat most of the first Half-Life via crowbar (with some allowances for shotgun). I'm a punch vanguard in ME (punching down mechs is fun). I went around hitting things with my rifle and stomping on them in Binary Domain.
The moment I gained it everything became more difficult. I was still fighting level 17 and 18, but I was dying all the time. I had almost 30k, but now I'm down to 10. I don't know if I'm getting more penalizations per death or if I died during level 20 that I had in all my previous levels (which seems plausible).
I finally looted some decent upgrades, including a 127x17 tediore shotgun, which tore up several badass flaming threshers that surprised me and put me down. Then, mostly due to the UI, I accidentally dropped into a grinder.
That one hurt.
I'm going to call it for a while. Anyone know if it's possible to restore a back up save file or if such a thing even exists?

I have to say that Maya is working out really well in comparison to the siren from the first game. She has some decent skills and my smg reliant build works fairly similarly to the original Lilith (where I also used SMGs a whole lot). I like her action skill a lot and it cools down fairly quickly. Plus I like that they made it so that if you miss with it, the power has a short recharge and you can try again. Enough to be a disincentive, without feeling overly unfair.
The writing and quests are really good and help compel me along. I have become a huge maliwan whore.

Zer0 seemed like the obvious option, here.
I had a hard time deciding between Axton and Zer0, man. When I logged on and saw literally every person on my list playing Assassin, I immediately went Axton. I like Zer0 a lot, though. I'm not sure if he'll be my next character, or if I'll go with Maya. Salvador doesn't interest me much at all. I'm super-hyped about the Mechromancer, though.
Also, does anyone know how in the name of Zeus' butt-hole you get to that chest in the Crimson Raider HQ? The one by Tannis? I can't figure it out. I've looked all over for a button, or something I can shoot, and the damn thing just won't open.
been looking to see what sweet free guns he might have for me now that ive leveled up some, but i cant seem to find him anywhere.
Well, shit. If that's the case I'll have to wait until I start an alt to find the fellow. I guess it would make sense if he does vanish after that point. Too easy to farm him for higher level guns otherwise.
I am now officially addicted to Moxxi's slot. Slots. Slot machines.
maya seem like way more of an elementalist type than lilith was
you could eventually run an elemental lilith, but the corrosive and electric options in the skill tree were pretty feeble
maya still doesn't have much in terms of electric, but slag, corrosive, and fire are all prominent now
I'm tossing around the idea of playing Maya next. Could you give me some advice on a build? I found a Siren Class Mod that grants a +2 or +3 bonus to Helios, so I started thinking about how to use it. I've got enough points to pick up Convergence (Phaselock pulls in nearby enemies), Helios (Phaselocking causes a fiery explosion, damaging all nearby enemies), Cloud Kill (Shooting an enemy creates an acid cloud, dealing damage to nearby enemies), and Ruin (Phaselock also Slags, Electrocutes, and Corrodes nearby enemies). So it's a total AoE build; I pull everyone in with Phaselock, my Class Mod-boosted Helios does damage, Ruin triggers, I initiate a Cloud Kill, and then start ricocheting shots off my primary target into the secondary guys.
Seems pretty nasty.
It doesn't leave me with many points left over, so I don't have any real way to heal myself. I can spare a few points in Sweet Release, which would allow me to generate life orbs when my Phaselock target drops, but I'd miss out on Quicken, which reduces my Phaselock cooldown.

Get to the motion tree early on.
Faster recharge and convergance is super useful.
Then the rest is if you want to be a healer or just murder everything.
Reunited with Sanctuary. Jesus do they throw a lot of side quests at you. The map was covered with yellow markers. The Claptrap one,
was so depressing. No one came to his birthday. I wanted to give him a bunch of money or something to cheer him up.
man yea, they really hose you down with sidequests at that particular point. im just about done clearing them all up before continuing on with the main quest, but its taken me a while.
also, has anyone found other ways to increase your backpack size besides the black market in sanctuary? it caps out at 27 there, and that seems... not big enough.

that's more or less my plan
i'm going to skip out on the harmony tree and hope the various defense abilities in motion are enough to not necessitate any healing skill
with a short cooldown crowd control skill, and the option of using elemental DOT to fight conservatively, it doesn't seem like maya's direly in need of tank abilities
This game get stupid hard quickly if you don't find upgrades. God. Good chests are now scarce, vendors sell absolute crap and almost every purple I've found is hilariously bad. I'm level 21 using level 12 guns.
Not cool, Gearbox where did all the red chests go?
