all the problems and behaviors you get teh band for, are still there when it's removed
so if you get it done, put in low or no effort, and drop 100 or so pounds, you will probably just gain it all right back

oh i have no intention of getting the band.
only reason i would ever consider something along those lines is if there were a bunch of other issues. and only after other ideas and ways were fixed.
i know my thyroid is normal, so i can't blame that. I just gotta kickstart something in my body a bit more. plus work harder.

Everyone should watch The Weight of the Nation, it's super-informative about a lot of weight loss stuff.
And Shaz, as a freshman in high school I moved to another state. The curriculum differences meant I had to take basketball. Anyway the P.E. teacher was a nightmare straight out of a teen movie (creeper, asshole). My first day of class I was playing (poorly) and took a sharp turn and my foot didn't follow. My knee just made an awful popping and gave out. Guy didn't let me go to the nurse, so I just sat waiting til the end of the school day before asking to go to the doctor.
Then my knee was all purple and blue but the doctor said it was probably just twisted and would get better on its own. No note excusing from exercise, nothin, so I had to go back to limping through basketball classes right away.
Fast forward twelve years and I still have trouble doing squats and certain yoga poses. It clicks painfully on occasion so I have to be really careful jogging.
Yoga definitely has improved the flexibility and pain. But if it sounds like I'm being a whiny bratty person who can't get over her anger at her teenage self's doctors that would be

the dick doctor that my college health services referred me to told me my knee would be fine in like 6 weeks and i didn't need a brace or physical therapy or whatever
Also, if there were only 4 people in your yoga class and it continues like that, you'll get a lot of personal attention to your alignment and your body's needs (avoiding/modifying for scary knee stuff) during the class, so that's awesome!
Man, i felt so tired and sore during this mornings swim. Also a little cheated at is was supposed to be stroke but the fill-in coach only had us do mid-distance free.
In reference to college medicine, so I went to the health center my junior or senior year of college because I was sick for about a month and my neck had swollen. It took 4 trips to that clinic to for them to finally do a blood test and the "Nurse" they had to draw my blood was at least 85 years old and had the shakes. I have never been more terrified of having my blood drawn before in my life.
Damn right. People unfamiliar with it usually recoil in disgust. "Cheese in a can? Ugh." Yeah, usually I'd get that. But Cougar Gold is motherfucking bomb.

you are all being evil with your cheese tempting ways.
the low fat part of this nutrition plan has completely ruined my cheese loving moments.
well, made them hard to find.
there is one single brand of low fat feta that I can have on this plan. Everything else is right out. And it's not that good of a feta. so i've pretty much cut all the cheese out of my diet.
sometimes i don't notice, but others.... man what I wouldn't give to have a big hunk of a good cheddar or even some parmesan. or mozzarella with tomato and basil.
alright, time to go to the gym and work out this craving.
no carbs after 3pm, no food after 8pm (except after nights at the gym), nothing with more than 10g sugars/100ml, nothing with more than 3g saturated fat/100ml. Protein of some form with every meal (and snacks), 5-6 small meals a day, 3L of water a day, and 5+ servings of fruit/veg. Preferably 2 servings fruit, 3 veg.
it's not too difficult to keep up with, it's more a matter of knowing what products meet the sugars and the satfats. Which is the hard one.
On the other side, had a fucking awesome day at the gym, you guys. Did some pullups on the pullup machine, actually managed to squeak (literally) out 20 of them (10 reps each time). Did some lower pushups on the bar. But the awesome thing was my rowing.
Got onto the rowing machine and held a steady pace of 30sec/100m. last one of 4 that we did was for 1:37 and I rowed out 336m. I am damned fucking pleased with myself.
Also, i'll get the real measurement comparisons tonight, but last time my bicep was measured it was 49.6cm around, today it was 46cm.
Ok I am off to try yoga again, except being more careful and telling the instructor about my cripple knee. Also I am gonna wear my knee wraps beforehand to get em warm. Warm as fuck.

ok my dears.
somebody talk to me about Pilates.
the gym that i go to only has 1 yoga class on saturday mornings. But they offer more pilates.
I know the basic idea of pilates is core strengthening and breathing (which I really could use help with the breathing).
Have any of you found it useful?
Apply this same question to Zumba, since that is also readily available pretty much everywhere.

I love pilates as well as yoga. The workout that I do on my off-days is typically either the 30 Day Shred or an entirely pilates video. I like it because it doesn't take up space, most of the stuff in the ones that I do are body weight exercises so I don't need equipment, annnd I feel like I've gotten some nice muscle definition out of it.
I've only done zumba once and it was tons of fun but I didn't like it as much because there's no "Here's how you do ~~~" portion. It was all dance movement and no focus on doing it right so you don't hurt yourself. Probably good cardio buuut pretty sure useless for strength/muscle building.
It was basically like going clubbing for an hour and a half without the cute clothes and random dudes.

Keep in mind that that may be totally not at all what actual good zumba classes are about, but that's how mine was.

pilates are a lot like yoga but I guess they are a bit more active because I have heard people say yoga is kind of boring. I do the harder yoga so I don't feel it's boring because I'm doing 2 minute mega planks here fuck everything

Now that the fortnight long stint of debauchery and complete disregard for even the most basic of dietary standards that is the first couple of weeks of term back at university is over, I'm gonna start being healthy again.
All you can eat pizza hut for £8 yesterday was incredibly nice, but I won't be doing that again in a long while.

In the best way.
she's doing fairly well on it, has lost something like 79lbs or soemthing and it's been a few months.
but man... i don't think she's been doing any gym going or anything so i dunno.
I thought about it, but I so much enjoy going to the gym more.

when i got the injury, my parents were out of the country in the UAE for a wedding, otherwise they probably could have helped me find a better doctor

low fat and low carbing at the same time?
This sounds horrible and not very sustainable, if it's the case...
low fat the whole day, low carb at night.
well no carb at night.

Then I drink alcohol and eat deep fried pieces if potato covered in cheese and bacon.
This is my standard Wednesday night meal.
