yoga went fine, it's stuff thats related to warrior poses that seems to f with my knee but i tried to be more careful with them
all the symmetrical stuff is fine just hard
downside is on the way back from yoga is the best muffin place and its so good
Now that the fortnight long stint of debauchery and complete disregard for even the most basic of dietary standards that is the first couple of weeks of term back at university is over, I'm gonna start being healthy again.
All you can eat pizza hut for £8 yesterday was incredibly nice, but I won't be doing that again in a long while.
I physically recoiled at that, jesus christ I'm afraid to scarf down two pieces let alone... whatever the hell amount you ate.
Edit: To give this some more context. Gonna be working again soon, getting my ass up early and shit. Probably will be switching to doing my workouts when I get home from work.

Lots. I didn't keep count but it was more than 10 slices, and we had access to the "salad" bar as well so I had like 2 bowls of nachos, potato salad, salsa, sour cream, rice, risotto, cheese...

oh god it was delicious.
Just like... taking the general gauge of a large pizza.
You had 2300 calories worth of pizza alone, which also amounts to 8000 mg of sodium, give or take in both cases.
Edit: I'd like to note this is more so my brain can wrap around it than anything else, given how badly getting a hold of pizza fucks up my weight by making it bounce up 10+ lbs the very notion of taking in that much sodium almost makes me feel a little sick.

Most of the slices were from personal size pizzas, which are comparatively tiny. I'd probably ballpark it at around 2.5k including all the extra stuff.
I did go out drinking later on as well though, so probably a 4-5k calorie day overall.
the gym that i go to only has 1 yoga class on saturday mornings. But they offer more pilates.
I know the basic idea of pilates is core strengthening and breathing (which I really could use help with the breathing).
Have any of you found it useful?
Apply this same question to Zumba, since that is also readily available pretty much everywhere.
I started taking Pilates classes about 3 years ago. When I first started, it was easy - it is insanely difficult now that I actually know what I'm doing. Pilates is about knowing how to engage your core without external resistance (weights) and executing the movements with perfect form while keeping the core engaged. In my opinion and experience, most instructors do not teach the class in a way that is useful to anyone. That said, if you can learn to keep your core muscle engaged properly, it is an insane workout. Pilates often gets grouped with yoga, which isn't really fair. In yoga, it's about listening to your body, finding out how to make each pose fit your body, rather than force your body to fit the pose. Pilates is very regimented. There is correct and incorrect form. It's almost militaristic, in a way. It should be painful and ridiculously hard.
Basically, I think Pilates is a fantastic workout and I personally love it, but most instructors don't teach it properly.
Oh shit that reminds I bought a groupon for a bunch of free martial arts classes at a place in manhattan like... two months ago. The idea was that if I'd already spent the money on it I'd feel obligated to actually do it instead of being lazy.

I should probably do that at some point.
I did this with krav maga. Then never used the coupon, because people kept shaming me with Archer quotes.

yeah i don't think the classes are included. pretty sure that they cost extra at the gym.
which is one of the main reasons that i haven't already started them.
might see if i can scrounge up a good video or something first.

Take lessons.
One thing though.
It's not really an aerobic workout. It's a flexibility and stabilizer muscle workout. You aren't going to see big weight loss gains from it but you will get health benefits from it. It's a good accompaniment to your workout. Not a replacement for one.

12 minutes to the gym (average is 15), 30 minutes crazy cardio on the treadmill, 30 crunches on the swissball thing, 10 minutes back from the gym. 5 trips to the gym in 4 days.
Gonna try and drop about 20lbs by christmas. Lets do this.
20 lbs in a little over 2 months? Yeah, I still think you have a pretty unhealthy relationship with food. You seem to bounce between gorging yourself and starving yourself.
edit: I'm not saying it can't be done, but your approach seems rather unhealthy in that you seem to go on diets temporarily to lose weight quickly instead of scrapping the idea of diets and actually changing how you eat and exercise long term so it looks to me like any weight you lose will probably just be gained again when you get tired of dieting

Actually yeah christmas is a bit sooner than I'd realised when you say it like that. More like... the end of january. And hey man, you're totally right, I got issues for days when it comes to my body.
That said, I think 20lbs in 2 months is a totally reasonable thing if you just don't eat shitty food.
continue to not eat shittily, not drink ridiculously heavily and do the same amount of exercise that I do all the time, if not more.
I don't yo-yo all the time, I just partied VERY hard this past few weeks because it was pretty much the last chance in life I will ever get to do so, and now I'm paying for it.
I've got about 160pts till I level up in Fitocracy. Do I do something else today to do it, or wait till my workout tomorrow? Also, I've got a question about the distribution of "Props" I get them a lot, but I don't give them out that much. That makes me a bad person, doesn't it?

You've never gorged yourself before? I don't think. You can say the man is going to struggle to diet after going balls out one time
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better

I'm looking for an additional thing. I know I still need to do the cardio and the weights and things.
I also just need a little bit extra, I feel. Just another push in some areas.

As a reward I would like a flat stomach.
What do you mean that's not how it works?
