Good point about the geist, I forget that its legendary. I am on the fence with pillar vs spear, the pillars exiling is great but maybe its a sideboard card against zombies and spear for maindeck. I am trying to keep the focus on delver, pike and the instant/sorcery count to make better use of snapcaster. I was still playing with the mana base, but it does need another land if I end up running spear instead of pillar, syncopate and maybe cyclonic rift. Brimestone volley just seemed to always cost too much, but to be fair I haven't tried it yet.
If I went more white with resto angel and cloudshift it would probably be better at that point to just go bant with thragtusk which seems very good, but not quite what I want and it personally doesn't seem as fun.
Yea, Bant control is a thing that I see a lot of people trying to do, and it'll probably work (although I think tusk is a little overrated right now). I think you're probably correct regarding brimstone volley but again it'll really depend on how much mana you end up with. If you can run 24 lands, I'd probably at least test it.

I thought I entered a sealed tourney, but it was a draft!
I grabbed some of the rares passed to me because why the fuck not.
So I lost in the first round, but got 8 rares including sudden decay and blood crypt.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I want to build a grixis deck but fuck I don't wanna buy 8 shocklands.
Plus 4 more with the next set.
I would be hard pressed to run more then 8 shocks, since at that point the core set/inn duals end up probably being as good and much cheaper. Though hell even 8 shocklands still sucks, even though I know they will hold value its hard to swallow a $120 mana base.
Holy shit I totally forgot to look at the price of geist of st traft, my local shop has him for $22 and that is on the low end of prices which is nuts. I do wonder if he will come down at all in the next few weeks.

I would guess not very much. Delver is collapsing but UW is still very much a thing, and he's a staple of everything but the most controlly control decks.

Gah, guess I'm putting in the money for the geists, at least I'll get almost a year out of him. Really ups what I was expecting to pay for my deck but at least the majority of cards im picking up will likely hold their value.

So I figured what the heck, I'll get into Magic since this new set has everybody all excited. I've never put together a deck of my own, having only played one of the Duels of the Plainswalkers games on the Xbox before, but eh I'll figure it out. I got Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius to build around, so I'll be giving various combinations of blue and red cards a go and work from there. Should be fun!

So I got this foil Jace, Architect of Thought. I actually need Jaces since I'm building RWU Control, but I'm thinking that a single foil Jace might be turned into multiple other Jaces, or at least maybe a few Tamiyos, which I also need.
Would it be worth selling it now on eBay and waiting a couple weeks to hope that the price for non-foils comes down and I can snag a few with the profit?

so on friday i got a booster box for some sealed training. 36 glorious unopened packs sitting around all weekend because my friends stood me up. So i get feed up and grab six packs just now. opening them i think there may have been a collation error. in six packs i got a jace, tow dracogeniuses, overgrown tomb, and an epic experiment.
four relics in six packs seem normal to anyone? should i open the rest immediately? what are the four i have selling for now? im mostly an online player, this paper is new-ish to me.

I'd try and sell it on cardshark.com. I did that with my foil snapcaster and was able to buy a playset of snapcasters.

Also this is the most expensive meta I've seen in a while. A lot of these decks are > $600 in singles.
