A foil card that is a really good card is worth all the bananas.
Speaking of, our latest Commander league wrapped up yesterday, and I packed a foil Vraska. I had packed a normal Vraska in my Friday night limited game, and the guy who runs the league was coveting them, so I flipped them to him for a full set of Arcbound Ravager and a Mox Opal. Now my Legacy Affinity deck is complete. Vraska is going to drop in price, so when I want to build around her (when my UR Aggro deck goes Tango Uniform) I should still be ahead of the game. I'm still wishing I'd traded my Sorin, Lord of Innistrad back when he was over $50.
Also, thanks to having original Ravnica shocklands, I was able to trade my extras, along with some single rares that I didn't want to build around, for:
the 3 Steam Vents I needed,
the 2 Nivmagus Elementals I needed,
the 2 Vexing Devils I needed,
a full set of Grove of the Burnwillows,
and a Karn Liberated.
So now I'm one Karn away from my Modern GR Urzatron deck. I'm pretty happy with it.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't mean to sound douchey. I've just never been that successful at trading before.
Decay is at $25 but will drop to like...$10 probably, before the end of the format.

my ur "punch shit and stop you from stopping me punching shit" deck is almost finished. it's at a point where i'd consider playing it, but i'm waiting on a couple cards to swap in

Also, I wish Magic Workstation would stop being a crashy piece of shit, I'm trying to build a Trostani EDH deck here.
More insane trades today. Last week I got 3 ajani and 3 shitty-realms-liliana to complete those sets. This time (among other trades) I got 2 steam vents and 3 bonfires to complete those sets.

so in the process of talking to the dude i'm selling the new jace to i mentioned what shocks i have and now i'm trading him an overgrown tomb for a steam vents
God, that UWR deck is fucking nuts. I've been testing against it and Azorius Charm is just like "oh, you wanted to attack? I hope you don't want to draw anything for the rest of the game."
And even if you build a boardstate, terminus just fucks your shit up.
I want to play this deck so bad, stupid expensive Jace.

Yea, that jund midrange deck was not very streamlined and it still hit top 4. Should be really good if you can tune it.
