T-Mobile's going to have LTE up pretty soon, partly on account of acquiring metroPCS

I think I read somewhere they expect to have LTE areas up and compatible phones on the market by early next year

This is true. I wouldn't count on "early" next year. My bet would be summer for it to start rolling out in key markets.

Upside is that it'll be slightly faster than Verizon and AT&T's LTE.

Alright, so it seems like ever since I switched my iCloud password after getting 1password, I haven't been able to receive iMessages on my iPad. I've tested sending messages to myself, from iPad to phone and it's worked, but I don't seem to be able to pick up stuff from my contacts. (also just set up new iMessage on laptop and the same thing is happening there as well)

    Thoughts, anybody?

    Settings>Messages

Check the settings for Send & Receive to see which ones are on there.

Also, try turning iMessage off, then back on, or log out of iMessage (in the same Send & Receive screen, tap your Apple ID) then log back in?

If the app doesn't have a close button in it's menu you just hit home and then it'll be closed in the background or not.

Also also how do I get a better weafher and clock widget

Android's improved the memory/power handling for background apps a lot, so you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I think you just need to use a bigger background picture?

    Check the app store?

    No

I'm not sure what you mean by move? Do you mean like an animated wallpaper? Search the Play Store for "live wallpaper".

Sandra, all of your answers lie in the Google Play store. Just search around!

Holding the home button opens all background apps. Flick them to the side to close them.

I think the note has the ICS multitasking button, holding home is gingerbread isn't it?

Alternatively, exit the app by hitting the Back arrow until you're at the home screen.

TouchWiz doesn't have a multitasking button, you have to hold the Home button. Assuming it's like my S3.

My firmware for my s3 updated this morning.

And now I can have 2 separate apps open on my screen at the same time. Right now I have chrome open and the Facebook app open

I think this is a standard feature for the note 2 that they've started rolling out on other Samsung phones?

To enable it on my s3 I had to slide down the settings task bar at the top. One of the options to enable was called multi window. For me it was on the far right of all the things you can turn on.

Has some neat features if you use chrome in desktop (the synced tabs across devices is cool) but overall as I understand it it isn't as fast as Safari because its a web view and in iOS those don't have access to the faster JavaScript engine built into Safari.

    4.2.1? I don't have that option on 4.1.1.

I a multiwindow option but turning it on just brings up a little side tab and it's mildly annoying.

You drag the app from said side bar onto the main screen. Then you open the side bar again and drag another compatible app to fill half the screen so your main screen is split between the two apps

Google has a free app called Listen that's pretty alright, but Doggcatcher is really good and is $4.99.

I personally am not a fan as I find the cache really small and I am continually reloading pages, and I think the multitouch commands aren't very good.

Synced tabs are pretty darn cool though.

I personally use dolphin, if you're using and iPhone 4S/5 the speed loss from not using safari is barely noticeable.

My laptop is on death's door. I'm trying to decide if my Christmas present to myself should be an ultrabook, waiting for a Microsoft Surface with Win8Pro, an iPad, or a MacBook Pro or Air. I'm leaning towards the MacBook Pro even though it's expensive because it fulfills all of my needs and is beautiful. The Air and the Surface are tied for second place.

It really irks me though that I can't get better than integrated graphics on the 13 inch Pro. I can understand the Air being without discrete graphics, but the Pro should at least have the option.
