Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
That's how much computer puzzle games were when he made his last one, is my understanding.
Bless his heart.
Bless his naive little heart.
We're also spoiled by things like Steam.
And his other games actually hold up really well even now provided you don't look up the answers on the internet, so it's not like I doubt his track record in terms of quality or anything. It's just... $40 is a lot for me to spend on any game when I have so many to play and so little time in which to do so. I get that he's been working on it for ten years but... meh. That's not even getting into Puzzle games as a genre having pretty low replay.
The world of gaming just seems to have passed Cliff Johnson by, a little bit.
Maybe I can e-mail him to get it up on Steamlight and see how he does.

I am sure this game is fantastic, and I admit, I certainly want to give it a try. Admittedly, we are spoiled by Steam but the overall market has changed, and $40 is not a price point that the market will support for this kind of game. As a similar example, take LittleWingPinball here. They made fantastic pinball games for the Mac in the early 1990s and sold them for $20 bucks a table. Fast forward to 2012 and they tried to sell single pinball tables for $22 to $35 dollars a piece in an era that has Pinball FX 2 and the Pinball Arcade ($2.50 per table for great quality tables). It didn't work out very well for LittleWingPinball.
Gamefly Sale On Download Games
I believe a friend said Saints Row 3 was able to be "Steamed"
Extra %20 when you input BETATHANKS
Darksiders 2 for about $20 after discounts.
THQ/Volition have confirmed that all versions of Saints Row: The Third worldwide (including all digital and boxed retail) require registering on Steam. You can safely buy SRTT anywhere and be confident to get a Steam code.
Is the DLC cross-compatible from 360 to Windows (they both use Live, right?)? I picked up Minerva's Den for 360 when it was on sale figuring I'd pick it up eventually and then never did.

I'm like 1000% positive that you cannot use your 360 DLC on any PC game. You'd think with Microsoft being the PC Gaming wizards they are, they'd have something like that to incentivise multi-platform game purchases, but alas...
Ugh, I gotta stop being lazy and get my linux boot up after system wipe. Time to spend all night transferring files. Oh well, at least the install will be quicker now that I'm moving from gentoo to ubunto. Have to think up low resource games to run while I have the file system tied up. Wonder how spacechem will run.
Well, a 'gamer.' This guy, as pictured in an ad I saw on my Metro ride home from work today:
Is it just me, or is
his controller backwards?
That's a Dual Shock 3. The knobs between his fingers aren't the analog sticks, they're the L2 and R2 triggers.
Kind of insulting to "us gamers" though. Considering that man can afford a sweet couch, a PS3, designer sunglasses, a gym membership, and a gold ring I think it's safe to say that he has his financial planning situation taken care of.
Considering the prevalence of videogame ads where the consoles aren't actually plugged in to anything that ad where the models and photographer didn't know what a DDR dance pad was and assumed it was a Twister board, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the controller was backwards.
I got an e-mail from microsoft saying that there is a new offer for win 8 39 bucks to upgrade if i have win 7. Sorta tempting, but i tried the pre-release of the OS and did not like it at all...39 is pretty cheap though and i generally like to keep up on the times with this stuff.

generally, being an early adopter is a terrible idea. Early copies of software are often bug-ridden; cutting edge technology tends to be supplanted quickly by better and cheaper versions.
Windows is no exception. It's a nice price, but consider what you're getting.

I'd buy it at that price and just not install it until the all clear is sounded.

I now owe Cliff Johnson an apology.
And $40 apparently.
Maybe I'll wait for a sale.

Glad someone was able to get it besides me!
Deal is dead now, unfortunately.

Neat. I've got my fingers and my eyes crossed.
Should be interesting to see what the initial game lineup is.
Also, if anyone wants a copy of Airmech, PM me. I have two.

Getting thanked before I even sent the gift; this place is too classy!
Congrats to @Descendant X, @CorriganX, and @Stabbitystyle who won the 3 copies of BB:CE.
