Why do I keep seeing conservatives saying that liberals are defending the rioters

Since when did "trying to figure out why they're doing it" become "defending" or am I looking in the wrong places

I haven't so much seen that as I have criticism of continuing to tie the killing of the diplomat in Libya to the Youtube video while evidence makes it a tangential issue at best. But then again I don't watch the news.

I thought they stopped doing that entirely and were calling it a terrorist attack

I read an article late last week that quoted the president was still claiming it could be related and that the "terrorist attack" was still being confirmed.

because "liberals" (the media) spent quite a bit of time trying to get to the bottom of the story about the video that sparked the unrest

the conservatives say "why does it matter why they're mad? they killed our ambassador and burned our flag. we should immediately cut off diplomatic relations and commence the carpet bombing"

    Yes, I am aware.

They are just a nice counterpoint to confusing angry yemeni fellahs with billions of other people.

because they kind of shoot dissenters and stuff

This is amusing because below the article I get a Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) campaign attack advertisement.

Iran has gone through its share of chaotic moments unbecoming of a totalitarian state. It's relative stability is more of a testament to how oppressive the regime is considering how much of the general populous absolutely despises its government.

well that's why I said technically

they have a good grip on their people and from what I read the government has a ton of support from their rural population (go figure)

They do have an educated class (as Iraq does or at least did before they were invaded), and they're either trying to leave the country or hoping not to get shot before the government is overthrown

Yeah, Ahmadinejad enjoys a lot of support outside of Tehran, Mashad and Isfahan, but the green movement elections in 2009 had a huge urban population turnout to favor Mousavi's reform party.

There's a huge disparity between the two groups.

I'm not sure Iraq's educated class ever recovered from their war with Iran. As I understand it the Iran-Iraq war absolutely decimated the Dinar and what was the Middle-East's strongest economy.

Today you can add "Why You Can't Open Windows On Planes" to the list of things Mitt Romney doesn't understand.
When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly. And you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem.
