Yeah, I'm doing Alkaizer runs with Stonefort at the end and the Keywarden is a superjerk with his massive bleed/slow spam. Running at MP4 right now and it's slow at times and Extra Health is a sticking point.
No legendaries so far but instasold an amulet for 40m after the first run. Now I just have to wait for the Zuni set to collapse.
Patch didn't improve the funking gittering framerate issue. May have to try moving the resource file to an external flash drive or something as someone suggested once.
This is annoying, considering I had no issues at launch.
Well, I guess hoping that backend loot-drop tinkering would make this game interesting wasn't realistic because... Doing a run of the same old shit is just as boring as ever. Maybe even worse because now that I'm used to Torchlight 2's much faster default runspeed I feel like I have a never-ending slow debuff on.
Everything so far seems fine for me in two runs. Except my inability to kill the Butcher before the floor all lights up...
Seems like MP2.5 would be about pre-patch difficulty. MP3 being marginally harder, MP2 being marginally easier.
Disagree, I tried out MP2 for Act 1 and it was taking me forever just to kill the green bat-belching things in Festering Woods. I couldn't even clear the room with the tons of skellies, the elites just seemed to have way too much health. MP1 seems roughly similar to how it was before, though even there it seems like I'm doing less damage. Just barely killed Butcher before the floor went pure flame, and twice wasn't able to kill a treasure goblin before he ported out.

For comparison, I'm playing monk with 31k dps.
Treasure goblins are interesting now. Couldn't kill the one I saw on MP3, barely killed two on MP2 by popping 7 Sided Strike while the portal was up.
Your preferences might've reset, I had to re-lower all of my graphics settings to get back to normal.
Yeah, I tried that. No joy. Seems a pretty common issue on the D3 forums. Everyone seems to find a different fix, though some just cant fix it at all. So I'll just be trying random things hoping one of them works. (Like disabling indexing, which I haven't tried yet.)
Still, its far more interesting starting a low level character and just kicking it up to MP3 for giggles.
Well I got 3 portal devices and 2 keys now. Act 3 keywarden is by far the biggest dick. Going to wait until tomorrow and do a bunch of boss runs with lots of people in the game. We'll have to see how high of a MP we can handle on them.
4 legendaries: A Skorn that sold for 2.5m, a Thing of the Deep, blackthorn's boots and some terrible 400 dps wand.
New identify time, item coloring and playing in all acts is pretty great.
Profile -> Signature Settings -> Hide signatures always. Then you don't have to read this worthless text anymore.
Alright, it sounds like Diablo 3's changed enough from launch to warrent another go-around with it, especially in regards to drop rates and class balance and the like. But what's a good class for what is basically someone's first character? I have maybe 100k gold to my name and basically no characters leveled far enough to even begin to matter, so I'm wondering what a good first 60 might be. Right now I'm thinking between Barb Wizard and Monk. Barb sounds awesome, but I'd REALLY want to be using a two-handed weapon otherwise I'd probably play something else. Are 2-handed Barbarians especially viable at the moment? Wizard because lasers and explosions. And Monk because kung fu.
Pretty much any weapon setup is workable for barbarians. The existence of Skorn makes pretty much any other good 2h weapon dirt cheap, too, so you can usually find something nice even if you're poor. Then, when you're not poor, you can buy a Skorn!

do you only get one shot after turning on the machine? i know you're locked into the monster power level you initially choose, so i guess you can't leave the game
Hot damn. I did a few test runs in A2 at MP2 and I'm getting slaughtered, even by white mobs. Do monsters move faster or is it just me? It's like I'm in Hell for the first time in D2, which is a good thing!
Though I must confess part of why I'm having trouble is because how much my build got gypped. Takes longer to refresh Diamond Shield, takes longer to gain arcane power therefore takes longer to recast tornadoes, takes forever to refresh Archon, Prismatic Armor doesn't mitigate as much, Reflect Damage still does a shit ton. Changed Stormchaser to Wicked Wind after the first run and things got a little bit better, but I probably should be looking for a different setup now. Haven't had any keys drop, but I did get a legendary for my trouble (my first ilvl. 63 too!). As I'm not familiar with quivers and it's still a pain to sort legendaries in the auction house, can I get a price check on this? Thanks.
You have just as little chance of finding a perfect set of archon armor too.
If you want to throw away opportunities that's your prerogative.
The weapon situation is a little more dire because raw DPS is so important, but I think most players would happily bite a small hit to armor for a lower ilvl item that comes up with the right mods.
on gloves maybe. if you take something like pants or shoulders where the primary stats are entirely defensive 200 armor is pretty much losing an entire item mod. a level 58 pants needs to be rolled much better than a 63 one to compete.
Finished up Act 2 inferno on my DH last night. Used a sentry build with custom engineering, ballistics expert, spitfire turret, caltrops. Was complete easy mode on mp0. Is it just me or does stuff killed with the sentries not use your mf? Even at 5 stacks I was only getting one or two rares an elite pack.

Dead Man's Legacy can roll from 10-20% attack speed, but otherwise has a narrow crit and stat range, making the attack speed adjustment one of the most important factors when buying. However, even bad rolls can be saved by a good skill roll or by good additional magic properties. Yours has a middle-of-the-road attack speed, the weakest possible crit, nearly the weakest possible stat rolls, a generally useless skill roll (I don't know a single DH who uses entangling shot, and those who do probably don't do so for the damage), and only one random modifier that I can see (gold find) - and not a highly valued one. All told, I'm sorry man, but you got gibbed. I bought, this weekend, a similar item that gave a %19 attack speed, moderate stat rolls (185ish) 9.5 crit, and a bonus to bola shot (critical in my new build) for 2 mil. I think you'd be lucky to get a few hundred thousand for yours.
If it's any consolation, the only 60+ legendary I've found was a completely trash Frostburn. (Seriously, it had four random mods: gold find, pickup radius, globe health, and I swear to God one of them had to have been light radius.)
They're gathered like wolves on the boardwalk below, howling for answers no wolves can know!
Tried out MP2 on Nightmare Act 4. Got rocked by a purple mob.
Might go back on tonight and lower it to MP1 or turn it off completely. That and get better gear.....

I thought Hatred regeneration was a pretty useful mod for DHs and that at least rolled max.
Anyone else notice that there are may more unique named elites showing up? Total elite packs seemed the same but way more of the ones that did show up had a unique named among them.
Also liked that the blacksmith event in Act 3 Keep not only added a NV for completing it but also spawned a unique name elite that it never had before for me.

I'll do the boss runs with you if you like. I have one device of my own already to use. We should get a monk along with us if at all possible for the overawe damage bonus. MP7 should be doable.
For those of you having issues with MP levels in act1 and 2, it is because pre 1.05, those mobs are below lv 61 for act1, and lv 62 for act2. Enabling monster power go mp2 makes them slightly less powerful than pre-patch act3 monsters, which are lv63. You're essentially fighting act3 monsters pre-patch when you do this.
On another topic, The shadow power/gloom "buff" is wonky. I feel like its actually a nerf. Yes, it lasts 2 seconds longer, but I'm now constantly killing myself on reflect packs with gloom active. Anyone other DHs have this experience with gloom?
I did 5 key runs on mp2 last night. I was surprised I managed to complete an infernal machine on those 5 runs. Only had to do act3 twice, the rest only required 1 attempt for the keywardens to drop their keys/plans. Came away with 4 legendary drops too! Nothing awesome though. I got 2 ageless mights, 1 gladiator gauntlets( 6th one I've found jeez), and a low dps manticore:(

ditch gloom, grab sentries.
(they don't reflect their damage onto you and cut things down *really* fast)

Sentries+caltrops with jagged spikes = good times
Trust me on this.
I'm running enginnering and ballistics passives along with sentry w/ spitfire rune and caltrops w/ jagged spikes rune.

I did plan on trying it out at some point. I might have to try it out sooner rather than later.
I don't think I'm going to attempt organ runs until I can at least handle MP5.
My thinking is they're not a bad way to do standard pLvl farming on MP1-3 anyway.
Speaking of quivers, I bought this on an 8M bid just before the patch hit--seemed a low enough price to be worth it (I use a Multishot-spamming build FYI):
Right now I'm just sitting on like 115M waiting for prices to drop on things so I can go past MP1.
Edit: By the way, I still use Shadow Power but I switched it to Blood Moon which works well for dealing with Reflect Damage.

No luck for me, still. 300% MF for two hours last night and not a thing. Le sigh.
2008, 2012, 2014 D&D "Rare With No Sauce" League Fantasy Football Champion!
so with my mate I can die a TON in mp6 but still come out with the gold in the green...so I went on to check out new amy's with +crit and I snagged one for cheapo with +9 CC and a wee bit increase in other stats (and a socket! bonus!)...but I gave up 38% MF. My thought behind this was that the cheapest amulet I could find WITH that 38% MF was 15mil...so I listed 14...I don't think itll sell...but man I hope one of you "returners" with some extra gold to blow buy it...
edit - forgot to ask; with MP4 I can solo..sort of. If I do act2 Vault I die so much even after selling I barely come out about 10k gold ahead; I'm a very squishy monk ATM. Well I went to Act 1 and gold was sprouting from the ground! It was awesome! I made 40k and got a pretty easy (but fun challenging easy, ya know?) 5 stack just at the cemetary. So have you guys noticed gold drops changing? in certain areas/acts? This was awesome! Also - why are the act2 MP4 guys so much harder than the act1 MP4 guys? I thought it was evening out the difficulties?

I had a legey drop and none of this happened! How do I enable this?!
Also. I HAD A LEGEY DROP!! it's only slightly more worthless than previous leg drops as 840dps for 2 hander is prime brimstone fodder but..YAY LEGEY!

To illustrate the new dropping system, I present to you my quiver that dropped pre 1.0.5:
It's not bad, only thing keeping it from being amazing is the lack of disc.
