So Witch Doctor is pretty fun.
Anyone want to do ubers tonight?
I have three machines (and 4 or 5 keys for Acts 1 and 3. just missing Act 2)
Need to make some ringggsss
I'm up for some ubers at some stage. I think there is some downtime tonight so not sure whether it will be a go for me. Will be staying off HC until the maintenance is done though. I have some machines.
Based on something @randomengy said I worked Furious Charge in to my skills for low MP PL/item farming instead of War Cry (as I don't really need the extra armour/resists for this). Took a little bit of practice to get going smoothly but great fun! It really shines in certain places like the keep depths where everything is bunched up and you insta charge-kill a whole bunch of mobs.
I'm using the reduce cooldown rune which mostly equals no cooldown.

I'm down for ubers, I've got 2 machines to chip in. I've been itching to try out my barb on something other than MP0 farming runs. I feel like I have really good tank gear for high MP. I've been stacking armor and life regen on all of my new gear; with Inspiring Presence I should have 2200 life regen. Hopefully I'm geared enough to not get 1-shot by Magda's bees.
My monk was unprepared the last time I did ubers with PAers. We did MP9 (lol) and Magda 1-shot me at least 5 times with her bees. This was with 4500 armor, 650 all resist and 42K life. I ended up just running away popping Serenity and playing medic.

MP9 is a bit much without a CM Wizard freezing everything. Even then the Magda fight is easily the worst.
Do you sell blue exp items as well Bork, or just yellows?
I've only bothered with yellows. Blue rings with main stat/exp seem popular though, as are boots with move speed/exp, so they might be worth a shot.
Also might be worth mentioning this reddit post which has some interesting comments about items with gold find (in particular rings) or gold find + pickup radius. I sold some pants with pickup radius, gold find, vit and a couple of sockets for 2m recently - previously I would have just vendored them for not having any main stat or AR..

We had Big Red Tie perma-freezing everything with his CM wizard and I still got trounced. It was pretty embarrassing. That night I rolled a great STR Hellfire Ring and I've been playing Barb ever since.

Yeah - BRT's wizard is excellent but it seems hard to lock down the Magda fight (the others are trivialised into just standing there and going balls out dps).
I need to roll a good STR Hellfire Ring. I am still using the first one I made. It is quite astonishing to actually see how bad it is, and then realise that subsequent rolls were even worse.
Thanks to @HexDex and @TTODewback for the fun Über run tonight. I only had 1 death and it wasn't even one of the bosses. I ate it to that Desecrator Plagued Mortar Waller pack we encountered in that super narrow hallway in the crypts.
Overall I think I was less effective than I should have been since I used rend instead of hammer of the ancients. My 6% life steal and 1500 life regen was enough sustain so I will go with the higher damage attack next time. I did manage to keep WotB up for the last 50% of Magda's health though.
I got 2 organs and was able to craft a pretty okay INT hellfire ring. Average damage, 187 int, lightning resist, 9000 health globe bonus and life regen I think? Doesn't matter too much, it will still be great for my wizard and witch doctor alts.
Why is it important to do ubers in a high MP game? I still can't find anyone to help me on EU and I am up to 6 machines. Should I just run it solo on mp1-2?
The drop rate of organs increases with higher MP levels, same as keys from the wardens. 5% at MP0, 10% at MP1, then 10% more for each level of MP up to 100% drop rate at MP10.
If you can't find people to do them at high MPs, you're still better off doing them in a group on low MPs rather than solo (as long as everyone is contributing machines). You get to do more runs that way which partly offsets the lower drop rate.

Nope. The organ drops rates are 10% per MP level, so at MP7 for example, you have a 70% chance at an organ drop. If you're doing it on a low MP then you're practically throwing away your infernal machine.
EDIT: Bork beat me to it.

My internet fucking crapped out on me last night (and stayed out for at least an hour until I gave up and went to bed early). Naturally, it was while I was playing my HCWD. I couldn't even check this morning to see if he is still alive thanks to the fucking 40 hour maintenance for a mini-patch. This time it was while I was XP farming Crypt of the Ancients in Nightmare to get some levels built up for finishing out Act 1. There were definitely skeletons around, but I think my whole posse (templar, dogs, garg) was still up, so hopefully they clogged things up enough for my character to get kicked from the game before he died. I had just killed an elite, too, but I'm not sure if any of his minions were still up.
Not even being able to know if I was killed (through zero fault of my own) really sucks.

Yeah, US. I don't remember what my Btag # is, and sadly I can't check right now. I just have to hope for the best until tonight.
Now you can go back to collecting your 90% worthless yellow drops
90% worthless? its more like 98% worthless drops.
This is just a fact of life in Diablo, no matter how they tweak the stat rolls only the top 2% of items will have any value to players. Buffing drops just shifts everything upwards thus making the game easier.
I think the main thing to be done about it is to fix crafting. If there were something consistently useful you could do with salvage, then you would feel like you made progress even if you just picked up a hundred pieces of junk, similar to the reason they added Paragon Exp.

I held off playing my HC BD (she is female so I figure a swap from the W to B is appropriate) last night and will probably wait a couple of days in case there are any patch issues.
Thanks to all the raid/VP/CP resets on Tuesdays, my Tuesday-Friday game time is pretty WoW dominated. It's not until the weekend/Monday roll around that I tend to have much time for D3. I'll definitely check up on it when I get home but probably won't be playing again until the weekend. This pattern should serve me well if there are every any big server issues in the days following a patch.
What stats should I shoot for as a baseline for my barb to start doing ubers? And is there a calculator that can help me figure out upgrades on the AH?

It probably depends on the MP, whether you have a CM Wizard and who you are playing with. If you try to hook up with PA people just try and get as well-geared as you can and I'm sure you will be ok.
Otherwise 100k dps, 500AR (without Warcry) and 40k health might be something to shoot for at a minimum? With a good group this should be ok.
Or you could be like my DH and have 90k dps, 150 res all, and 35k hp, and die 5 times a minute , but if it's with PA Bros they will just laugh and res you so you can die again.
Fun times!

As an aside, we were out for dinner tonight and one of the party was a girl named Magda. Although the fact that she was a surgeon and very attractive was distraction enough, I couldn't help thinking:
(a) Where the fook are your butterflies/bees; and
(b) I've killed you sooooo many times; and
(c) I'm not going to be fooled by any distraction over sword pieces.
Well, after a short absence from D3 to play Arkham City, my return has been very unrewarding. 4 MP5 runs with 0 keys, and 0 decent loot with MF capped. It's not making me want to keep playing
Started a fresh run with a friend on MP10 and was shocked to finally find a legendary item in the beginning of Act 2. I don't care how bad the stats are, im just so gosh darn happy that one finally dropped.
HCWD lives to die to a disconnect another day! Although it was a bit hairy when I jumped into a game, as there was an elite pack right by where she loaded in the Crypt of the Ancients, and I was having all sorts of load-lag since I just came in. To be safe I just went out the entrance. Then in the woods outside there was an elite pack within aggro range, but I had more room to maneuver so I just dealt with that one and then TP'd back to town.
I found 3 Legendaries in a 7 minute span last night, all of them in Act II Normal while farming for Leoric's Signet. My Inferno Barb found a Storm Crow which looked like it had pretty mediocre stats. So 4 Legendaries is pretty good for one night, even if they all sucked.
I've still got 1 Infernal Machine if anyone wants to pair up for Ubers.

I really can't say enough how much better it is for key farming on MP8. @RandomEngy will argue the efficient way to do it is low MP like 4 where you can stomp it fast and be in and out, and he is not wrong. I think key / organ farming are about more than efficiency though. You want that key, or organ so you can feel like you are accomplishing something, and seeing that orange beam when the warden dies FEELS much better than not seeing it.
If you are key farming on MP5, I would say stop right now. Try to key farm on MP7, MP8 if you can manage it. Its much, much better. Message me, and I would be more than happy to help.

If I see you on, i'll definitely take you up on that offer. Seems you've experienced the squishiness of playing a DH on your own, so I was hesitant to pump it any higher than mp5. It just reminds me of that stretch where I did 10 mp5 runs with 0 key drops.
