I think there is some very effective psychology at work here. It seems very powerful to re-frame the discussion so that working class whites feel like one of the oppressed instead of one of the oppressors. It takes away a lot of the negative emotional backlash that comes into play with discussions of race in America (from a white perspective).

The YouTube comments are of course even more attricious than usual.
Nobody likes being told they're part of a majority group that has it way better than anyone else.
Or that they're being blatantly used in obvious ways.

This was immediately followed by him arguing that guys don't always overreact when confronted about privilege. Literally in that order.
Also, I imagine a lot of Tim's logic about creating a racial divide in the working class probably also applies to the conflicts between democrats and republicans. But that's a discussion for another time.

Two things, 5:06 is eerie, I just rewatched The End of Time today. And 8:40 is one of the coolest things I've seen in a game in a long time.
