Just tested connecting to people I had issues with before, and was able too. So if you have had issues with BL2 MP, give it a try now, might be working finally.
Is the BBB available in p1 AND p2? And if you fight the p1 version, is he scaled the same as in p2? (Not watched the vid, but a 7s kill of Mr. Boss would make me think "lower difficulty level" or something.)
He's available in P1, but his level and difficulty is the same in either playthrough.
It's just the way some gunzerker skills stack, and having very good relics/class mods that increase multiple skills +5. it leads to this crazy bomb of dps.

I was really digging the "no reason to reload" Gunlust build before my character was corrupted.
Fire every bullet (last one doing +800%), switch to next gun, repeat. With Quick Draw, it takes less time to swap out (most) weapons than to reload. You almost never stop shooting, it's pretty great.
That said, I'm pretty sure a Rampage build focused on constant Gunzerking would do more burst damage.

Gunzerking is already a lot of extra damage. Assuming equal DPS weapons, you get 2x damage from the dual wielding, damage reduction and hp/ammo regen, plus you'll eventually get up to +88% fire rate. And with everything unlocked, you're basically permanently in that state.
Combine that with the other +fire rate talents and you get uh... this.
lol I so knew this was going to happen. The moment they announced the action skills I was like...wait...one guy's action skill scales with weapons? and nobody elses does? :P not that it really matters (BL2 mp isn't competitive), but it's such an obvious scaling issue.

So I finished the Best Mother's Day Ever quest. And got two shields from it. I assume you always get the thumper shield as your quest reward, but the boss dropped this:
That's right, a disposable Tediore shield. This bastard killed me while I was fighting a wormhole thresher. It was hilarious.
Also I got the Sandblaster head for Axton from the boss, but I already have it.
I used the Biddy Grenades in order to keep slag on him so I could get a double damage on my shot. As for the multipliers..

Agreed. The big one seems like "800%" in there, plus the Amps. Amp mod probably shouldn't be stacking BEFORE the 800%. And please tell me the x17 doesn't mean the amp bonus applies to EVERY PELLET. Or the 800% to every pellet. Because holy no.

Up to Level 16 and by far the toughest thing I've come across:
Mad Mike. He shoots at me and takes out all my shields and health in one shot, despite the fact he's 2 levels below me. At that point one bullet from anyone kills me. Frustrating how I'm down with 2 seconds of that fight, relying on my turret to kill something because I'm down.
Mad Maw was the same, but at least it's a more enclosed space and ripping psycho's is easy with a shock SMG.

Sounds like the high +dmg skills may be applying to individual pellets, as well as amp shields. Both of those need a look IMO, I'd assume the intent isn't to turn shotguns into the godweapon of boss assassination. Applying them once to the entire trigger pull seems FAR more in line with other weapon types as well as written presumed intent.

Its nasty, not a lot of safe places. RPG loaders are ridiculous at killing you in the open. It also has the most waves of any round 5 in the game clocking in at 7! The last wave is one bad ass constructor, and one regular, at the same time with turrets overhead!

Wait. Slag is simply a flat multiplier to damage, 2x. You can't stack slag that way, to my knowledge. Something sounds broken.
