For backpack upgrades orange is the top for ammo, can't remember if it was for bank/backpack itself though, long time since I upgraded those now.

Shimshai: Yes. I have multiple shields for different effects, a bunch of weapons at any given time too for testing, stuff I'm holding onto for my alts to use when they get high enough level because my bank is already full etc etc. So yeah, 27 is way too few slots.

edit: Also, in BL1 you kept collecting money even when the counter maxed out (9,999,999 if I recall, at least they added an extra digit this time) so it's possible you're still collecting eridium past the 99 mark even if it's not showing it.

Nah, if you spend four for terra it's at ninty five.

Aww, bummer. Not like I've got anything left to spend the stuff on anyway though so I guess it's no great loss.

I'm at the Firehawk worshippers quest line, and I love the writing in this game. Everyone is just hilarious talking back and forth. Though it makes it even funnier when my friends and I are adding our own quips and one-liners to it as well.

i like that this conference call justifies spending eridium on shotgun SDUs way more than the torgue triple ammo consumer i've been using

this thing spits out a lot of bullets very quickly

    How do you...
Stop the Sawtooth bandits from blowing up the flag generator in 3 seconds flat on Capture The Flags mission? PL1, Level 30 Assassin and Commando

Tried a few times with no luck at all.

Borderlands 2: Why you sure seem pleased with the Conference Call! Would you like a Hyperion Allegiance relic that enchances reload speed and accuracy?

Why, indeed I would, Borderlands 2. Indeed I would.

I doubt that's possible without 3 or 4 overleveled players and a bit of coordination.

Hah. I did not know Firehawk accidentally gets a cult. Heh.

I need to get some fire resistant shields. Those nomad flamethrower guys are a pain. Also, I need to bone up my Zero's melee.

the problem is that resets the waves of bandits attacking it.

luckily i was a maya and ccing some of the bad guys and used some singularity grenades to slow them down enough to snipe em, headshots if you can get em off quick enough is fantastic

edit: speaking of what are ideal spots to farm to upgrade gear (generally everything)

Ive tried lynchwood (running sheriff the 2 car trunk chests and 4 toilets) but it has had really disappointing yield.
Ive tried the warrior but it seems to be a real shield fest
Ive tried the madam bartleby and ledge chest in tundra express that yielded an orange smg (guaranteed baby maker) but i really dont care for it that much.

i guess i would like a nice elemental smg (so scorch) and a sniper rifle, and pistol... so suggestions?

I distinctly remember running out of bad guys in a couple flags after several times breaking and repairing and then just waiting a couple minutes of total peace for the flag to go up. So it doesn't quite reset them.

    Steam ID: Right here.
  • SoundsPlushSoundsPlush yup, back. Registered User regular
He asked about stopping them from blowing it up, so I'm not sure if he realizes you can repair it. It's not like there's a badass challenge for preventing them from blowing it up ever, and the flag's progress isn't reset, and the bandits focus on the generator anyway so more of them isn't really an issue.

Maybe Gearbox decided that ammo regen was too widespread in the first one, and nobody used anything else.

Either way, I guess you can continue complaining about it or play Sal.

see the reason why everyone used it is because running out of ammo sucks

if anything, that means you scale that UP, not down.

Yeah, it's not like Gearbox makes more money if nobody has ammo regen on an item, but it's definitely less fun to have to deal with buying ammo constantly. Heck, items with ammo regen would mean the etech stuff would immediately become a whole lot better since the increased ammo consumption wouldn't be a problem.

As for something good being too widespread, then maybe they should've just made it universal instead of pulling it out of the game? If that many people used it that much, then just make it standard. We have regenerating shields and ways to regenerate health, so why not give everybody an ammo regen skill as well? The less time people have to spend going to retrieve ammo and the more the time they can spend just playing, the better.

You guys are telling me you don't find it an exciting denouement to every fight scrounging through fifteen miscellaneous boxes with thirty button presses trying to recover some of that ammo you spent?

    Tedium is fun, right?

Finished Playthrough 1. Couple of questions:
    1. Is Conference Call a guaranteed drop, or was I very lucky? I got one from the end of PT1.

    2. I sprinted through the first six or seven chapters of PT2, but I'm stuck at Bloodshot. Could not get past Mad Mike. I'm level 37 or something. How am I supposed to survive? :(

    3. Is it worth farming a Bee Shield in PT1?

Does a level disparity between characters in a party cause monsters to give less experience to the lower level characters when killed by a high level character? For instance, if a level 20 character killed an enemy, would a level 10 in the party receive less experience than if another level 10 character had killed it?

    1. you basically get one guaranteed legendary drop from the warrior when you kill him via story - you were pretty lucky that it was a CC, but his list is actually pretty short of things unique to him

    2. You need to do sidequests - if you're trying to save shit for PT2.5, just do all the sidequests that don't give you blues or better

    3. Really depends on your playstyle - you are the epitome of glass cannon going into PT2 with a PT1 bee, but it will help you wreck shit (if that is your primary concern)

This is the future. This is what we built. This is what we wanted. It must have been. Because we all had the fucking choice, didn't we? It is only our money that allows commercial culture to flower. If we didn't want to live like this, we could have changed it at any time, by not fucking paying for it.

So let's celebrate by all going out and buying the same burger. -transmet

At this point I literally cannot kill some enemies, like Super Badass Maniacs so I guess I'll go do that... ergh.

How do story missions work in PT2.5? You can reset them at any time?

I need to test out something in someone's 2.5 game. I'm going to grab a low-level quest that's been bumped to 50 while in their game then come back to mine and see if it stays at 50. If so, I may go around in someone else's 2.5 to grab all of my Undiscovered quests.

Wasn't it only 42 after DLC?

That said, I feel like I can't store ANYTHING. It sucks.

What Gearbox should do is give us The Wall. Like that Fallout 3/New Vegas mod: Underground Hideout. If they don't want us hording weapons, then make it annoying to transfer weapons to and from The Wall, but some kind of permanent storage would be nice.

I'm fine with having ammo be a meaningful resource system. The UI around it could use a lot of smoothing: ammo vendors need a one-click "fill all" option, and you should probably gain ammo per-kill instead of finding it in tiny little boxes.

I actually thought I'd be getting a second set of upgrades on playthrough 2 from the black market. Imagine my disdain at finding out you don't, thanks to this thread. Guess at least my expectations have already been shattered and I won't find it as jarring as I would've done finding out for myself.

  • RamiRami Registered User regular
My main UI issue is probably not auto looting money and ammo from chests. If you could just press to open it then any money/ammo inside just flies out to you automatically it would make quite a difference in the long run.

  • DrezDrez Registered User regular
I mean, let's compare Diablo 3 and Borderlands 2. I feel like BL2 throws far more loot at you than D3. Most of the loot you find in D3 isn't even usable by the class you're currently playing as. In Borderlands 2, loot is more universal and overall more useful. I mean, in D3 you're pretty much looking for DPS. In BL2, so many items offer vastly different playstyles... And in D3 you can carry and store a bajillion items, most of them useless. In BL2 you can barely store anything, most of it useful.

Maybe I'm being a little unfair to Diablo 3 but I feel the inventory management in Borderlands 2 is really painful.

I don't mind looting ammo or money.

I think my main gripe, aside from the low inventory/storage, is that some ammo types are really strict. 108 sniper ammo is nothing when you have a sniper rifle with a high fire rate, high magazine capacity, a bunch of skills increasing your sniper reload speed/magazine size, and can basically reload in a half-second.

    I know it's a balancing thing but...
