It's official... A flux in their reality created in an epic battle between Yog-Sothoth and the Merch has caused the minds of Tycho and Gabe to switch, creating this bizarro new reality where up is down and fuck is hug... Everything I once knew means nothing... Merch will now shower me with gifts and the Fruit Counselor shall give me tips on how to get over my mindfuck... and EA is more eviler than ever... Heaven help us all...

It helps that I have zero interest in Medal of Honor but even if I did, I would be with Tycho on this.

How about if 3 million people buy the game, Linkin Park will be permanently exiled to an island completely devoid of recording equipment of any kind.

    That would move some units.

I am with Tycho on this one, despite the fact that we are probably in the minority of Medal of Honor players. We could try to organize an effort among the champions of good taste to prevent downloading the demo, but in the end, it doesn't even matter.

I am fan of Linkin Park (Fan as in like not as in 'Fanatic') and could care less about MoH since I haven't played any yet, but when I read this all I see is "EA holds back song from fans for ransom of download statistics".

I though can understand how allot of people don't like them as their early music gets played online (especially with geek culture) more often than people are killed on TV. Add that to people who were originally of no opinion in the first place and those who genuinely can't stand them or their style of music and you have the Nickleback Effect all over again.

By the way fan of theirs too.

Honestly not trolling or looking for flame war, but this is a forum after all...

I can't remember if they've done silhouettes like this in the comic before or if I'm just thinking of Face Vase Time.

Is intense hatred of Linkin Park still a thing, then? I was under the impression that most had stopped caring one way or another years ago.

If I were EA, I would be less concerned with Linkin Park, and more concerned with possible muslim extremist backlash since apparently they are releasing the Osama Bin Laden kill mission.

I know I'm supposed to be ashamed to this, but I kinda like Linkin Park. I just can't help it. A lot of their songs are just so goddamned catchy.

I don't think it warrants the energy of full blown intense hatred. More like disdain? Disbelief that they're still a going concern? Mild annoyance?

I will say I really, really hate Linkin Park. It's nothing about the group personally or their fans, I just find that every song I've heard of theirs is simply not for me. When I'm commuting it takes a lot for me to bother changing the station, but I find their stuff usually will make me flip.

With that said, I have horrible taste in music so maybe that means everyone should listen to them. When you have Bobby Brown Gold on heavy rotation I think you lose the rights to criticize other's taste.

Nickelback is just fun to hate. It's always, always, always fun to blame Canada for mediocre products*, no exceptions.

Linkin Park is one of the least offensive rock bands anymore. They seem to still have a reputation based on their angsty nu-metal of the early 2000's, but they've evolved considerably beyond that and deserve at least some credit for experimenting.

I mean wow are there are so many worse bands right now.

    How?

I remember back in college, when Adult Swim first started up, there was this one commercial for some compilation CD that would play about thirty times a night, and it had two Linkin Park song excerpts back to back that went "CRAAAAAWLING IIIIIN MY SKIIIIIIN, BUT IN THE EEEEEEND, IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTERRRRRRRR" and I know it was two different songs, but they were the exact same key, the exact same tempo, and it just sounded for all the world like one song.

Hybrid Theory was the first CD I ever owned! I loved Linkin Park in middle school; not so much anymore but I'll listen from time to time for nostalgia.

This comic is great though. What was the one where they mentioned LP before? Tycho brings it up in the news post.

I think people mostly started having a problem with Linkin Park after that whole scandal with the rapist got out.

Yes, yes there are. I do not hate them, I'm just a not a fan of their music and I especially disliked all the beef I got from my friends a few years back when I told them I never heard of LP and that I did not like their music upon hearing it, they threw a freaking tantrum because of my simple dislike.

I still like Linkin Park. Minutes to Midnight was kinda meh but all their other albums are pretty great, even their recent ones. Especially the latest one.

    Eff da haters.

I can't believe I have to ask for more context. You can't just say 'that thing with the rapist' and expect everyone to know. Details!

Also unapologetic LP fan here I don't go to their concerts or anything but I like most of their songs.

Yeah... Linkin Park was one of those things I listened to as an angsty teen. I don't really get actively hating them anymore, except inasmuch as I hate anything these damn kids are blasting on my lawn.

NIN was angsty teen music for like two decades. Korn I definitely listened to, but they had a briefer window of being relevant.

I don't know why bands that write the same song over and over again annoy me, but they do.

I thought it was pretty obvious that we have a rapist in Linkin Park.
