One thing I've noticed watching this show vs. previous iterations is that it seems to me like they're portraying the turtles as a bit younger than usual. The original comics Turtles might have been teens but they really didn't have the attitude of teens. The original cartoon turtles were immature as a whole, but they seemed maybe like 16-17 year olds mentally. Then the movie turtles seemed a bit older than that (although they're supposed to only be like 15 I think), and the 2k3 turtles definitely felt like late teens, some of that stemming from all the original comic plots they used. This is supported by a lot of the secondary characters being older, like the various Aprils and Casey Jones and other mutants and what-have-yous.
The new show has them as more early teens, perhaps 14-15. Just the way they act a lot of the time reminds me of that age group, like Leo's fascination with the Star Trek-like show and Don's crush on April, who herself is...I guess 15 or 16? And then Karai is probably around that age as well. I think it's a good way to differentiate this show and to put a bit of a new take on them.
One of the writers for the show has a tumblr, and answers questions sometimes. Some neat tidbits in there
Specifically this one
dantheownageman asked: How does Shredder know Yoshi took on the name Splinter?
In our minds, Splinter and Shredder took on their nicknames before their big feud and Hamato Yoshi’s transformation. These were their nicknames within their ninja clans, possibly even dating back to their military days hinted at in the photograph. For the sake of new and younger viewers, this just seemed easier than having to explain that Splinter used to be Hamato Yoshi every time we hear Shredder talking about him, etc. Two guys always talking about each other using different names than everyone else calls them because they don’t know about each other’s new names yet seemed needlessly complex.
I don't remember any issues with the voice acting in the 2000's toon.
It wasn't terrible, but it was pretty bland.
A lot of the voices were really generic and forced, in my opinion. Having been told that there was a small number of guys doing the entire cast, it makes a lot of sense.

Nothing happened with Korra, but the Korra thread is forever doomed to go on for pages about the awful movie rather than ignore it and actually talk about the show for longer than a few posts
That pretty much always happens when there aren't new episodes to talk about.
Regarding TMNT, I've been following the show on Nick's website, and to be honest i Find the quality of their videos to be rather poor
Not that I can't tell what's going on, but if you're going to have your own streaming service, I would expect it to look at least as good as the versions people upload onto youtube.
Instead the video quality is rather pixely, and ten it cuts to an advertisement that includes clips of the show that look better than the actual episode.
First video game is a downloadable title coming to PC, XBLA, and PSN. Here's a trailer. The art style is very distinctly NOT the current animated series. Looks to be a beat-em-up.

Not necessarily. I have seasons one and two of Transformers Prime on blu ray.
I have season one of Spectacular Spider-Man (after they released a bunch of collections)
They never did release season two, did they
Bastards
AAAAAAH
Well I meant for the eighties turtles.
Though 4kids did not use union workers and they have like 3 actors so actually yeah redub them too.
It wasn't so bad at first, but the 2003 show built up a pretty big cast fairly quickly, and it got really hard to overlook.
Thanks? It's sort of an acquired skill, I guess.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
two things
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
And they recycled the plot from the original cartoon and made it emotional and interesting. Kudos TMNT Staff

I fell behind on this show, because it took a break and I had no clue when it came back. I need to catch up soon because this show is awesome.

I'm not letting this turn into the Korra thread
It's depressing
Nick has to release it.
They have to.
Turtle DVDs do really well.
So of course they won't release them.

And she's adopted by someone else
This is getting very soap opera-y, but in a good way?
I can't wait till Casey shows up next season and breaks Donnie's heart
Donnie is totally the star of this series by the way. I swear he consistently gets more focus than anyone else.

When karai said "I know! That's messed up, right?" I couldn't stop giggling.
He's a total dick, and it's hilarious.
Good stuff!
Her?
Yep.
...Is that a problem? I mean, I think she's been doing a pretty good job.
Oh yeah.
Fuck. I haven't watched that show in a while.
