    Here's a potentially useful stalking technique: http://www.redditinvestigator.com/

As reddit is one of the most popular websites, chances are your santee has a profile there. You might find out more than you want to know if you plug their name in there!

As a fairly net savvy individual I must confess... I have no idea what the hell reddit is.

As far as I can tell it's 4Chan with a veneer of respectability.

I don't think much of Reddit has that veneer, mind you, I've kept well away from it recently

Oh yeah. I'm lucky cause since there's not much outdoor climbing spots in the DFW area indoor gyms are pretty popular. There's five that I generally visit, with good differences between them.

Most larger cities tend to have at least one from my experience.

Yeah, definitely in the UK. There are three decent walls here alone in Leeds. I enjoy making crappy videos of myself and friends climbing at them. Or just myself. Lots of me's:

You can easily avoid the gross parts. I just use it as a source of news and a place to find adorable cat and dog pictures when I'm feeling down.

Also, I just found out I'm moving up in my company, so I won't be the bottom of the rung anymore! My wallet might not be quite as tight this year, so get ready Santee!!!

I was trying to think of what Flanders said but was sad that I couldn't remember it. So I figured if I was going turkey sandwich I'd have to pull out the whole thing.

Also that's ridiculous even for a troma movie. It reminds me of Thankskilling actually. Which I also can't believe I've watched.

Kindles are like apple products. There are so many I wouldn't know where to begin. I would love to get one but I've no idea how they work. Sim card needed?

Excluding the Kindle Fire/HD-which are really more tablets than anything else, it isn't too hard:

There's the 69 dollar Kindle, which is your run of the mill ebook reader. It's a good machine, light and small enough to carry around without much hassle. It also has button.

Then you got the 139 Kindle 3G with keyboard. It's bigger than the standard version, comes with 3G so you can download books on the go, and comes with a keyboard. Never really seen the point on this version. It seems too big to be comfortable to read, and no kindle has had a good enough browser that you want to use the keyboard.

There's the newish 119 kindle paperwhite, which I have and freaking love. It's basically the standard kindle, but has a backlit screen so that you can read at night, and it's touchbased. Such a cool machine.

You have the 179 Kindle paperwhite 3G. Same machine as the 119, but it comes with 3G.

Oh, and they don't need SIM cards or anything. Everything is stored up in the cloud-which I know can turn some people off. I personally like being able to buy an ebook and have it show up on my iphone, ipad, and Kindle, and then being able to jump from version to version and the machine recognizing where I left off.

This is awesome, thanks! There's a pretty cheap barebones one in the supermarket I work at, might pick it up after training.

After doing a search of my username for kicks, I have discovered I am, unsurprisingly, quite easy to find on damn near everything. 99% of it seems to be me, too. The one thing that popped up which I am not a part of was World of Warcraft. Never played it, so that isn't me.

Also, what kind of gift would be suitable for my dad? He's a good fellow, but I don't want to get him books like he seems to get every Christmas (my family does Secret Santa and I plucked the big man this year). He's one of those dudes who's very content in life and has what he wants, therefore a bugger to shop for :P

Is he an outdoors guy, or sports, or any other specifics?

For a generic dude gift, I always think fancy knives or flashlights are awesome. There are some flashlights that just blow my mind with brightness. It has become a weird hobby of mine, especially since I've started riding my bike to work in the dark, so it may not fit all manly interests.

I guess I'm behind schedule with my Christmas shopping. Normally I at last know what I want to buy for everyone by now. I can probably still make my goal of being done before Thanksgiving, though.

That's the primary reason I would kill to have an iPad. Unfortunately the wife has informed me that that is not justification to own another piece of hardware right now. I love my original Nook but if I could swap all my various portable hardware do dads and games for an iPad I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I usually don't like reading on a tablet (the backlighting gives me a headache if I read too long) so I haven't tried any comics. I have a few TPB's from the Indie E-Book Bundle, though, so maybe I'll give that a shot.

I get headaches too from too back backlit LCD screen reading (which is why I love my plain old kindle for books), but it never happens with comics on the iPad. I assume it's mainly because there's much less actual reading with most comics, so less eyestrain trying to focus on text.
