The whole already-dead thing could be a problem, but John might just like a less vicious Vriska. Romance or not, John should meet Aranea at some time since she's an exposition cannon and if John is to be the one who figures out how to beat LE, he needs all the information he can get. Plus he'll get bonus boondollars.

At the risk of sincere analytical shipping, which is apparently as creepy as fantroll-generation around here,
I think that John's experience with Vriska will help him accept Rose in spite of her grimdark and sometimes mean-spirited nature, while Rose's experience with Kanaya's innocent nature will help her appreciate John more.
I was particularly moved by the way John and Rose sweetly interacted in Seer: Descend. Even though he couldn't understand a word she said, and in spite of her grim appearance, he was cheerful and friendly towards her just as her horror-inspired gibberish expressed affection rather than horror.

One unresolved question is what happens to a ghost who dies in a dream-bubble (aside from suffering E's reality-shattering attacks)? do they just re-set into another memory? Meenah's so fractious, I'm sure that she's had plenty of opportunity to get killed in her endless dream. Jake might have managed it if he had dreamed up some weaponry. Perhaps since any possible cause of death in the bubble is a mere memory, nothing is fatal unless it's a real item brought into the dream bubble.
