I was wondering what were some good seasons and specific episodes that people liked the most from Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Do a barrel roll.

Answers will vary depending on whether or not the preferred character is Joel or Mike. Personally I liked Mike better, but from what I gather that's not common.

Anyway, my point is that one of the best episodes involving Mike has to be The Horror from Party Beach. That episode is distilled awesome.

"Manos: the hands of fate" is another must-see. If only for Torgo alone.

    -Pod People
    -Quest of the Delta Knights
-Jack Frost (worth it just for the Tolkien jokes)
    -Invasion of the Neptune Men

I am also more of a Mike fan (Joel was just a little too sleepy eyed for me, I guess); my favorite villains are definitely Dr. Forrester and TV's Frank.

I was always fond of Riding with Death

"Alrighty, I'm coming up on your mudflaps at 67."

"Coming up on your mudflaps." People have such cute names for sex.

Mike: Ma' well-oiled chassis is comin' up on yer backside, now.

Servo: My rigid grill structure is bearin' down on yer unprotected cargo
    door.

Crow: My oft-complimented Peterbilt is rhythmically nudging that sweet honey pot of yours—

Mike: Drained and satisfied, I'm tracin' lazy circles on yer' supercab now.

The MST:3k movie is also a must have too.. if you can find it. It was caught up in some lawsuit and was pulled along with a few other dvd releases that year, and fetches well over $100 for a copy.

My VHS copy is under lock & key.. But great fun.

I prefer Mike a little bit more than Joel, but I think the writing was a bit better in the earlier episodes. Here's my list, titles may not be exactly correct:

Manos Hands of Fate (required viewing)
    Mitchell
    I Accuse My Parents
The Brain that Wouldn't Die (this was the Joel/Mike transition episode, pretty good)
    Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders
    Eegah!
    The Girl From Lover's Lane
    Time of the Apes
    Cave Dwellers
    Master Ninja 1
    Monster A Go Go (definitely!)
    Warrior of the Lost World

Be aware that this is quite possibly the worst movie ever made. As in, literally the worst. The director killed himself after making it, it was so bad. The MST3K version isn't that much better, partly because it's Joel, and partly because there's only so much that one can do to improve the worst movie ever made. If you really want to see it, do yourself a favor and stock up on alcohol before you do.

Funny enough, my Russian Folklore teacher showed us Jack Frost (the Russian one MST3K used, but unfortunately not the MST3K episode itself) in class. She said the first time she saw it was on MST3K, so I at least know she's a classy lady.

I know I'm repeating suggestions from others, but here's my favorites

    810 - Space Mutiny
    903 - Puma-Man
    907 - Hobgoblins -- REALLY BAD MOVIE!

I'm bound to have more suggestions later... If you want to watch MST3K online, they're usually a vid stream going on at Veneficus ( http://www.veneficus.net ). The stream's open to the public (Check the shoutcast video feeds in Winamp's media library), but you have to register to look at the playlist (what's coming up next is at the top of the list. What's playing at the bottom).

If you like what you've watched, jot the name down!

    MITCHELL, A THOUSAND TIMES MITCHELL

(Kid approaches Mitchell's car on a skateboard)

    Joel: Adam Rich!

Crow: Oh...(groaning sound in his voice)

    Kid: Hi.

    Mitchell: Hi.

Kid: Are you the man from the insurance?

    Mitchell: Nope.

    Kid: He came last night.

    Mitchell: Yeah?

Kid: My mother doesn't like you.

Mitchell: I don't like your mother.

    Kid: Why not?

    Mitchell: Why not?

    Kid: No, why not?

    Mitchell: No, why not?

Kid: Why are you repeating what I'm saying?

    Tom: Tonight on "Crossfire"...

Mitchell: Why are you repeating what I'm saying?

    Kid: I'm not.

    Mitchell: Well, I'm not.

Kid: You are. (Joel sighs and leans forward as if to lay down on his arms.)

    Mitchell: Buzz off.

    Kid: What?

    Mitchell: What?

    Kid: What did you say?

    Mitchell: What you say?

    Kid: Did you say something?

    Tom (screaming in exasperation): Aaaaahhhh!!!

    Mitchell: You say something?

    Kid: You said buzz off.

Mitchell: You're lying through your teeth.

Kid: You're lying through your teeth.

    Mitchell: Buzz off, huh?

    Kid: Buzz off!

    Mitchell: Buzz off, kid!!

Crow (as kid gets on his skateboard and "buzzes off"): The inspiration for cop and a half...
