The best way to describe it is that each rank will require a certain number of "points"
there are certain answers that will gain you MORE points but you get some points from hanging out with dudes no matter what
there is a way to max out your social links in one playthrough but it requires basically taking the game out of the game and turning it into a spreadsheet
I am now seeing why everyone says you won't max all the social links on your first playthrough, everything is stalling out with the "you feel your relationship will become closer soon" and it JUST dawned on me that it's because I am answering questions poorly
Yeah. If you answer everything "right", you'll almost never have sessions where you just hang out. Most social links will just go 1-2-3-4...
is bi at most? He shows attraction to girls throughout, getting nosebleeds over Yukiko and Chie (:rotate: ) and continues to crush on Naoto. He just responds positively to people who don't treat him like shit, unlike most of society. It's probably inaccurate to interpret relationships at that age through the lens of adults - for adults sex is a large part of it, but at fifteen you might just be looking for someone who'll accept you as you are (and smooches). His dungeon is just an exaggeration of how he feels, and how he thinks society views people like him. I mean, no one is making the argument that Chie is a dominatrix despite how her Shadow manifests.
Except Kanji's dungeon and shadow obviously have a sexual theme to them whereas Chie's shadow doesn't at all.
At the end of the day, tho, and viewing him as a homosexual myself, I don't think Kanji is even bi, just a straight guy that likes some stereotypical feminine things and is overconcerned about how that will affect his masculinity. If anything, he's more of an knock to LGBTs then he is some kind of ground breaking character.

Chie's shadow
is in latex, carries a whip and is sitting on top of two girls! :P
Oh, and in Persona 3 I think having max Charm is an additional multiplier for social links, so max that shit early.
Fuuka and Mitsuru are available, but I need maxed Academics and Courage which I don't have yet, and I'm assuming I can get Junpei, Yukari and Akihiko at some point??

Girls in latex in anime is a given.
Other then that, she's sitting on SCHOOL girls in uniform more implying to me that she's using them to attain her vaulted social status which is something Chie admits to Yukiko. In any case, the sexual subtect is blatantly, verbally stated in Kanji's case; that's my point.

She's sitting on a bunch of schoolgirls, wearing a dominatrix suit, and has a whip. The fact that it being equally sexual isn't convenient to your point does not change the fact that it is a very sexual aesthetic.
Similarly, Rise's shadow is literally pole dancing for us. Sex still isn't the crux of the issue there though. It's just a convenient visual metaphor.
Jeanne D'arc is a retelling of the story of Joan of Arc by the Dark Cloud/ Professor Layton team wherein Jeanne and her friends are given magic bracelets that let them transform into Power rangers, La Hire is a combination between a lion and Chewbacca, there is a purple frog that acts as your ability upgrading system (by eating your previous abilities), there are orcs and goblins and dragons and also the prince of england is possessed by an actual demon
none of these are spoilers, believe it or not, this is all from like the first 2 hours of game time

I don't understand how you could call him a knock
The entire point of his character arc is that it's stupid to worry about what's "manly" or "feminine". That these things don't matter and you should just be who you are, that gender roles and gender/sexuality stereotypes don't define a person. He IS worried about coming off as gay, not as a knock against gay people, but because gay people are commonly mocked, stereotyped, and shamed in society. He's scared that people won't like him if they think he's gay or feminine, and that he won't be able to like himself. Then it turns out, hey, it's okay to be yourself. It doesn't matter how manly or feminine you are, doesn't matter if you like dudes or chicks, you will still find people that will judge you for the kind of person you really are, and you will still be able to find fulfillment with yourself.
While his story may not specifically about being gay, it absolutely sends the message that if he was, that would be perfectly fine and that the stereotyping and shame society shows that behavior is wrong.

No, my point, since it's been lost, is no one is comparing Chie's sexual subtext with Kanji's sexual subtext because Kanji's isn't subtext. It's TEXT, it's the main theme, it's stated overtly. Chie's is shown once and, as shown, can have multiple interpretations; all of which make sense in the context. And, again, her Shadow being sexual is a given. It doesn't even have to have any subtext to it; they almost HAVE to show every female in some sort of sexual quality to even sell the product now.
But, again, she's not really sitting on them, they're holding her up which, again, maybe just to me, is a completely different meaning. But then I've had to deal with a LOT of bondage porn in past jobs.

I haven't finished his Social Link yet, that's why I said "more of a knock". My opinion may radically change, for sure; since I don't have his whole story yet.

I think this is only in P3P.
Zay if you're playing the Male MC, you can only S. Link with lady SEES members.
If you're the lady, you can link with everyone.
Yukari should be available right off the bat. Mitsuru requires max Academics. Fuuka requires high Courage.
If you're a lady, Junpei is easy, Akihiko requires courage, and Ken requires more courage.
