Man all this talk about the Valk not sucking like it did in SP. Look it up in the spreadsheet and lo and behold they actually gave it a weight decrease and a damage boost from SP right off the bat. The level I MP version does 15% more damage than the level X SP one.
With the tech/fire/cryo explosion changes, it's worth it to put at least a few points in Carnage.
I don't like putting more than 6 points in, because I prefer everything else more, but it's a nice way to finish off things after you chuck even a single grenade.
I put 3 in Fort and 5 in Krogan and maxed everything else for Radius. Damn, things were just exploding all over.

I like my 40% DR. Helps me stay upright regardless of the difficulty.
I'd really like a game that's just a lot of travelling around through the ME universe, stopping at tons of different worlds and generally having Mass Effect: The Road Trip
That was something I quite liked about FFX, for that matter. Gimme a big scripted journey filled with detail over a skyrim-esque vast, free-roaming, but shallow world.
And completely va-Ed too, right? No biggie
Might as well dream big dog
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
man there are so many games that could work well in a mass effect setting!
you could have a squad tactics-y turn-based game
you could have a massive open galaxy thing where you roam around various planets - probably wouldnae be able to develop any of them in too much detail tho
you could have a detailed sandboxy type game with roughly the same type of gameplay as me2/me3 but confined to a single large location eg one of the citadel wards (or at least part of a ward, theyre meant to be like the size of london or something, no?)
i think tho its probably best that theres not a massive departure from the type of game bw is used to making (ie something that is at least vaguely an rpg) just because any developers steps into a completely new game type tend to be a bit ropey until they get the hang of things
ive never been massive keen on prequels, a sequel would probably require canonising particular choices (which disnae bother me but i know lots of folk find it a bit of a pisser), so maybe something set during the reaper war would be a possibility?
So does the MP Collector Sniper Rifle stink as much as I think it does, or have I just not figured it out yet? My tactic is to point it at things and shoot. The result is generally they don't die, then kill me as I vent the heat from my gun.

this has been exactly my experience with it as well

You're supposed to fire it in short bursts, as the CSR does have a similar ramp-up thing as the Typhoon, with a twist: After the first 4 or so shots, it consumes 2 ammo per second instead of 1 - without getting a damage or RoF multiplier of any kind!
But even if you use it this way, basically trigger-tapping, it won't kill as fast as any of the other SRs.
Which it definitely should do as it's not exactly light...
So I finally ended up buying Mass Effect 3 when it was on sale a little while ago.
Didn't realize that the standard edition did not include the From Ashes DLC.
Is that worth $10? For that matter, is Levathan worth $10. Basically, what should I get for my first playthrough?
Also does EA ever put this stuff on sale? Should I just wait for that and pick up the DLC for cheaper?
General consensus is that From Ashes will enhance your game beyond the first playthrought, while Leviathan offers little after having played through it once.

Both of them are very much worth having. Javik is one of, if not the best squadmate in the series.
Leviathan is an excellent mission DLC, ranking only below Shadow Broker in the Mass Effect hierarchy, and it expands hugely on certain elements of the game's plot which will make the whole thing more palatable for the average player. Of all the mission DLCs I've played it does the most to frame and improve the experience of the rest of the campaign.
EA never puts this shit on sale that I can remember.
Ugh, the prospect of plopping down $20 more dollars to play this game has taken the wind out of my sales. What pisses me off was the digital deluxe edition was like $3 more on sale, and I didn't go with it because I didn't realize it came with DLC. I though From Ashes was like the Shale DLC and came free with ever copy.
I would love a series of totally distinct ME games that have absolutely random styles and mechanics.
An Asari based dating game.
A 4X space exploration and development game where you play as TIM developing Cerberus
A tactics based shooter with a squad of Spectres
A competitive multiplayer shooter of mercenaries fighting for a planet
A Fire Emblem/Suikoden style game of a mixed alien race squad torn in a galactic war.
An open world game like Arkham Asylum where your play as Turian Batman
I'd even buy a game that is just you making inane decisions for people on the citadel to see how they play out. Why yes, I will butt in and provide advice on how best to raise your child, confused relatives of a dead guy.

So has the Shadow been ruined completely with the latest patch? I was trying to Shadow Strike things in a game this morning and it seemed to fail 75% of the time. You cant SS Atlases at all and it was failing all the time on other targets. It was incredibly frustrating.

Nobody can Shadow Strikes Atlases, but no, it's still one of the most effective classes.

Maybe i was getting Russian lag, but i usually dominate with that class and i came in last. I could not SS anything it just didnt work.
Even if it were bad, which I very much don't agree with, it's better than waiting six seconds every time you do anything.
True. But I've played mostly as an Engineer in ME2, and as afar as I remember, the lowest cooldown for Incinerate was something above 3 seconds - which is just one second longer than the lowest cooldown in ME3.
whatever me4 is i hope they dont call it me4. just go with a different name or similar sounding one, leave the trilogy as 1 2 and 3.
mass reflect. star effect whatever. also hope they don't adopt the ridiculous novel/comic naming scheme. Mass Effect: Examination, Mass Effect: Post-Examination-Redemption-Salvation ugggh.
+1

Probably lag. I was kicking ass with a Shadow yesterday.
Well, when I wasn't shadow-striking an enemy that saw through cloak and melee'd me out of it first, killing me...
1. Krogan Soldier is perfectly Gold-viable at level 12, no questions asked.
2. Inferno Grenades are the best flame power; nothing wipes out two Banshees, two Brutes, and two Ravagers faster than a half dozen equipment-boosted grenades being dropped on them as they spawn, and then you walk away smugly while they all burn to death.
3. Firebase Goddess was made for bombing enemy spawns. One of my very favorite maps.

I would just like to remind you that a single level 3 Carnage will also detonate your inferno grenades now.

So they're even better.
It's true!
Since tech bursts/cryo explosions/fire explosions also do damage dependant on the priming and detonating skills level, I'd actually say taking 6 ranks in both inferno grenades and carnage is not a bad idea.

I just restrict myself to the Claymore, throw a grenade in the middle of a spawn, shoot off a carnage, shotgun the biggest survivor and melee the rest down.
Saves your grenades for the big stuff, like multiple banshees or whatever.
I especially like Firebase Goddess in that all the ammo spawns drop two grenades and it's real easy to make a quick circuit to pick up 6 of them in any given area. I came in on the very end of wave 6 in a Gold Reaper match and ended up with just under 90k points.

Not a bad idea, but it does hurt either your weapon and power damage or your health (either directly or indirectly from fortification).
As such, I'm inclined to leave it at just 3 points in.

Sorry, I couldn't respond on Steam. Kept telling me you were offline when I tried to.
I liked the Wrex video.
But aside from that, was good.

Sounds like something you'd buy in Zakera.
