Thanks for your advice and tips as always acadia! I tried to focus more to get the proportions, I think it's much better and....a little wider? The eyes and the jawline always get me, they always seem to be much bigger and wider than the picture is. The spacing technique you shared made it easier for me to gauge though. Gonna try to use this as a base to try to paint values but I have to come back and see later since it will probably look really different with fresh eyes

Sometimes it's all about tricking your eyes into seeing what's actually there.

Tried to sketch the rotation of a head through various pictures I found using the quickposes website
Was going to just delete these but I thought I might as well post them in here

Wanted to draw some rocky rocks today, after sketching I tried to do some values limited to 3 tones except for the clouds, also tried adding some textures to another layer in the end. Overall I guess this is super messy looking lol

edit: Erased the cloud lines and the background lines, think it looks slightly cleaner now

Tried to sketch a photo I found on pinterest of a girl who seems to be really popular for artists to draw
One thing I noticed is that I have no idea how to deal with soft transitions using lines

edit: Tried to paint using the previous drawing, did a clipping mask on top and then tried to gradually reduce the opacity of the line as I paint until it fades away

Second attempt, it actually looks kinda similar to the first try, gonna find some time and really dig in for the next redraw

No details yet, tried to go for a cleaner look than usual. Drew lines on top of the original layer.

I won't remember these by the time I wake up but to heck with it man
Also there are too many muscles in the legs, can't we just have like 2 or something

edit: I noticed I have the tendency to draw a little bit tilted

    edit: I am using Proko's 3d models

I am not even half way there. how does the leg not explode from cramming in so many muscles

I have to draw the skeleton portion as a base layer for future stuff because I would go insane if I have to redraw it everytime I want to learn about muscles

I came across this and thought the composition and colors were pretty striking, so I attempted to study it. Grass was killer.

Working on the hamstrings, they seems to be much easier to draw and remember. Tried changing to a pen instead of pencil for sketching to see if it's better.

Wanted to wrap up the rest of the upper leg muscles tonight so I tried to just paint the shapes and use clip layers instead of drawing

Creativity is only the seed. Putting in the work to grow your skills are much more important to creating compelling images. Keep up the hard work!

The lower legs looks really weird, I don't really understand what is going on over down there lol

Not sure about posting the ref img since it's more naked than usual
    gyb7zklv3dd9.png

One thing I am not sure is if it's better to invest time in doing a single drawing or multiple ones with less quality for learning purposes. It's hard to tell but everything I posted in here recently usually took me more than 5 hours so I don't have much time left to study anything else

Really sloppy today, couldn't concentrate. One thing I am trying to also fix is how I couldn't never draw shoulders and the collar bone correctly and it's stopping me big time from doing a figure

I think quality is more important than quantity. At least in terms of observing things and trying to understand them. Also, try to mix in some drawings where you try to APPLY what you've been studying. It should help you figure out where the gaps in your knowledge are, and what to study next.

Over all, super good work in here. Keep it up!!

I did it, that's all the muscles of the leg! I am pretty sure I won't remember like 95% of the stuff by next week but I am feel weirdly accomplished for now I suppose.
