Attempted to kick off my year of colors with "color study", tried to eye balled and adjust the colors to the best of my ability.

I think the hardest part of this session is trying to figure out the magenta portion and the blending between pink and green, pretty sure I didn't nail them but I couldn't really tell at this point. Gonna take a break and let my brain and eyes reset itself for a bit

This was not a sketch of the 3d model but a copy of a proko diagram instead, thought it would be better to learn from since it's much clearer to me. So many muscles in the forearm man, will definitely have to revisit this portion frequently

Only got the time to do the back for now

edit: Updated with copy of front forearm. Probably should learn how to do proper hatches

Another pose from Figuary, I kinda hate how this went to be honest. Tried to nail the proportion but ended up failing that and having really ugly and lifeless lines and gestures

Thank you so much! I sketched this last night, people seem to like it even though I didn't really managed to properly draw the chains. There were actually more and looked better in the reference but it was kinda driving me insane trying to replicate them lol

Feet bone study using Proko 3d models


I thought I could at least do 3 studies of the feet bone but trying to get the proportions is much harder than I expected and it took so much time because I kept getting it wrong, hope I don't wake up to see that everything is off tomorrow

Tried to do a bit of light painting instead of shading to show the form, hopefully it reads well

There are still quite a bit of problematic areas but this is the closest and the first time that I've been able to finish a drawing of a vehicle without giving up so it feels great. Still can't take it out of the bucket list though because I really wanted to be able to use Scott Robertson's method to properly construct the drawing instead of just copying which was what I did after being stuck

Final thoughts:
Too slow, took me 3 extended sessions which combined to be more than 10 hours, I have to push myself to draw faster

Still weak at drawing and identifying ellipses

Linework definitely could be better

Alright I think I have to put this on a backlog and come back to it at a later date. I didn't expect this picture to be the hardest thing I draw this year. On a positive side I think it exposed my weakness, I have trouble capturing the tilting angles as well as the wideness of the object so that's something for me to work on.
