I find the idea of a little boy who transforms into a bulky adult male with a large endowment to be incredibly disturbing.

Even more disturbing, it's a copy of his dad's body and therefore his dad's penis.

Are they really making a Captain Marvel movie?

    Why?

There are so many other, more deserving heroes in the DC Universe to cover.

I was being facetious about Vixen.

Black Canary is a much more appropriate choice.

Instead of a Captain Marvel movie they should just do a JSA movie.

Maybe they'll finally clue in on this after the Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern movies. Have a big crossover film with Superman and Batman. And Captain Marvel, why not. Have them fight... hell, I don't know, Darkseid.

    Yeah.

Well, apparently all the major Avengers characters' film rights are with Marvel's movie studio, so I'd think they could pull off an Avengers movie.

And I think all the DC movies have been through Warner Bros., so I'd almost be surprised if there wasn't a Justice League movie if they manage to get Flash and Wonder Woman into theaters.

I meant more Wonder Woman and Flash, who have slightly more mainstream presence than the other characters.

I mean, I can see them launching Martian Manhunter from it if they wanted to make a movie of him.

But a Marvel one would be pretty awesome too, so whatever.

Yeah, Ryan Reynolds is supposed to play the Flash. Which one, i do not know. But i think he could pull it off. At least, he wouldn't be the problem with the movie...

I'm glad Joss Whedon is off Wonder Woman

It took him like two years to write a script and he still didn't really understand what she was all about

    Anyway

Why is the Captain Marvel movie being developed by New Line if all DC characters are WB property?

It had to be said. Alex Ross does a scary Captain Marvel. That fucking smile just makes me curl into a fetal position and cry.

You realize that Ross uses models for all his paintings right?

Which means that the man with that face is out there, in the real world.

You're confusing him with Greg Land. The character faces look nothing like his life models.

although Bruce Timm would be best

I think Ross's designs would work better if they were going for a Golden Age setting, as the squinty eyes and cheese eating grin would fit perfectly. Timm's on the otherhand looked better as a modern version, well...it was.

Hawkman's origin makes perfect sense. Khufu and Chay-Ara are murdered by Hath-Set with a Nth metal dagger, and are doomed to be reincarnated every after each death, along with Hath-Set.

See, my first introduction to the Hawks was the Justice League show, where Shayera actually is Thanagarian and has real wings, but Carter is an obsessive nut-job with a wing-harness.

And then it turns out in the comics continuity neither of them are Thanagarian, and real Thanagarians don't have wings anyway.

    I guess I confuse easily.
