After finding a $50 EBGames voucher in my room, I went and bought BL2 for $19.95AU. And it came with premiere club and creature slaughter dome DLC! Yay! After watching a video of the Mechomancer, I'm soooo playing as her.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, I've killed the end boss 3 times for the story mission (twice on PT1 and once on PT2) and he only dropped 1 orange out of all those times. I walked back and watched everything blast out of his head after the last shot and no oranges.

The lava/warrior picked it up first
I once saw a Shock Conference call, and a leech(not at the same time) underneath him,i felt so sad that i couldn't reach it
But that made me find that exploit i mentioned in the last page,so its ok
Speaking of which, you can save right before you call in the airstrike and farm oranges with a buddy,of course they don't always drop, but they drop frequently enough
Question, are there any missable rewards when playing through the game? ie, can i miss on a a backpack sdu (if a quest actually rewards it) if i get passed a certain point/quest.
Also, with the SDU upgrades, are there any in the wild to be found/rewarded or can i spend my eridium on the black market and max out upgrades that way?
@BountyHunter you'll max out your SDU completely before the end of if you do all of the side quests. Then you'll spend all of PT2 hating eridium with a burning passion because it's totally useless.

Thanks for that. So eridium is pointless?? and all the AMMO/Backpack SDUs from the black market can be gotten from quest rewards? well thats kinda stupid.. makes me wish i didnt waste 4 eridium buying the backpack SDU when i got in Sanctuary..
So none of the sidequests are missable right? i get really paranoid about missed "stuff" when playing these type of games.
That gaige is overpowered and impossible to get killed?
pretty much
anarchy DPS increases PLUS a bot that kills everything PLUS a skill that refills your shields to full on-kill (we're not talking "powerful shield regen" we're talking second-wind-style full refills)
yep, new lilith :P
and HELLA fun to play!

nothing is missable. and even after you beat the end boss you can go back to anywhere to finish up quests.
And the game will tell you if there is a quest in a zone that you havent picked up yet with a ? On the fast travel stations, Its impossible to not get all the sidequests unless you activley try to do it.
all the sdu upgrades come from the black market, if you do all the side quests and open most of the boxes/lockers you see you get enough eridium on pt1 to get all the upgrades, so on pt2 it's useless and maxes out at 99.
Nah, you get enough eridium to unlock everything on the black market before the end of PT1. Throughout PT2, eridium is completely useless.
Ah i see, you dont actually get the SDUs are reward, you get eridium and get enough to unlock everything in PT1.. well at least i wont miss anything.. and ill still probably hoard eridium in hope some DLC will make use of it.. o-wait i heard they use a new currency.. :<

So, I started playing this game on release, and within the second day, I don't know how, I got a level 24 Bee Shield. I did not understand the significance of it, or any other Amp shield, at the time. I sold all the other amp shields. But this was one of the few items I had in my inventory when I unlocked Claptrap's Stash, so I just shoved it in there without thinking. It's got 700 shields, +3000 damage.
After I farmed The Bee from a quest at endgame, I realized it was a higher level of a shield I already had.
Now Gaige has my Bee. With her bullet reflection, Anarchy stacks, and general ability to just fire a gun at the ground and kill anything at a distance, I'm impressed.
But I have no idea where The Bee dropped at such a low level. It's by sheer, stupid luck that I stashed it in the first place; there are three white guns in the stash along with The Bee. It's like winning the stupidest lottery.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!
I found my first orange on my fifth character, a level 7 orange sniper rifle when I was level 8. I was useful up until about level 16, then I got something better. I can't bear to part with my only orange right now, so it's in my bank vault just sitting there looking pretty.

Is now when I say that I got the Bee on normal first time attacking the guy, but I didn't get an orange off the warrior?
What types of weapons are you guys using as Anarchy Gaige? Using a shotgun, sometimes I still miss point plank, and my stacks have never even gotten to 100...
Use a shotgun, and if you're playing anarchy, put 5 points into Close Enough. It gets to a point where your accuracy loss doesn't matter. I'd also suggest a shotgun with a high (greater than 10) pellet count compared to the 6 or 7 pellet count ones.
@Drez, do you have access to Opportunity just yet? For Mad-town experience without quests, do constructor runs.
The first orange I have is the infinity pistol from Dr. Mercy. It made the Hurly Burly challenge laughably easy.
I got my second from Boom when I was attempting to get the badass points from killing them without getting hit by Big Bertha. That's sitting in my bank right now.
speaking of oranges, farmed a longbow Bonus Package off of boom bewm. it's a goddamn air strike. i see enemies in the distance, pop zerk, do a double teleport toss, and watch the fireworks.

Speaking of nades that are fucking ridiculous. As a middle tree Gaige with boosted shock damage this little sucker is basically "See group of enemies... UNLEASH THE NADEN!" and it homes so I literally can't screw up the throw.
Death Trap with the on kill extension of his cooldown AND bonus meele damage is ridiculous btw.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Tentatively agreed. I feel like the game is a little too hard at certain points with the base characters, and a little bit too easy at most points with Gaige. Need a middle ground.

That's sorta her selling point, though, isn't it? The one thing I don't like about her is how much better her skills are for boosting elemental gun damage than Maya.
That is to say, she actually gets skills that give bonuses to elemental damage.
I mean what the hell, fire damage on FFYL is Maya's only straight elemental gun damage boost and it's like three different levels of freaking dumb. Gearbox, why'dju even put that there.
Edit: Oh, I just got that the theme for that is a phoenix rising from the ashes. Yeah, don't design skills based on cool-sounding themes. They usually end up doing squat in action.

Personally, She is different enough than the usual Borderlands Main Characters .. that is different enough for me to want to buy her.. but at the moment she is also makes the game stupidly easy.. (like you are in fight for life.? no problem. DT will get you second wind. off he goes to find a mob *somewhere).
Still, i like her enough that shes my second fav char (at the moment anyway).. maya is still my fav though.

Yeah, there's definitely unintended power creep in play here even taking her billed "noob-friendly" design into account. Lots of fun single point skills and less fillers than the other four characters. Better design all in all, makes the others look like chumps.

For those still wondering about Nomads issuing commands, I've just realized that they frequently tell other bandits to "Throw Grenades!" This means the're part of the reason bandits toss so many grenades at you, with that magical near-flawless grenade-tossing range and accuracy which all bandits have.
