I recently won an item on eBay and paid for it. It was sent on the 6th from within my capital city. Shipping shouldn't take 10 days. If my item doesn't come, apart from filing an item not received form what can I do? If the item was lost in the mail am I SOL? I have talked to the seller and she mentioned it was sent to my address on the 6th. Thanks all.
I am unfamiliar with paypal's current policies with doing non receipt of goods.
I would wait until today's mail; if it does not arrive then file the complaint with them.
It could be just the mail system at work.
I have had items shipped from with in 3 states away take weeks and items from overseas that by packaging alone be subject to search arrive in 3 to 4 business days.
It depends on how far you want to push it and whom you filed papers with.
I have sent people to jail over items that you would think they knew better.
Did the item have delivery confirmation? Ask the seller. Even if you didn't pay for it, she may have included it because you can get it very cheaply is you buy postage through PayPal. Is it a "professional" seller (selling many items, appears to have steady business) or just someone getting rid of their old junk?
Whatever you do, be sure to communicate with the seller before filing any complaints with PayPal / eBay. She may be willing to give you a refund / partial refund if you don't piss her off.
Ask the seller their opinion on how you should proceed, if they want you to wait a little longer or what.
DONT assume this has anythign to do with the seller, and it really honestly hasnt been so long you need to freak out or blame anyone.
I'd say wait another business week before making a stink.
I wouldnt slam the seller (which you absolutely will be able to do) until more like 30 days though, to give the postal system enough time to reasonably prove to you they didn't send it at all.
Anyways if and when it comes time to question the seller sent it at all (now is TOO EARLY) you file non receipt with paypal, they'll give you a refund of whatever they can get from the seller's account.
You WILL win the dispute because the seller didn't put tracking on it.
If they don't refund you the full amount, you're out that money because you didn't fund the payment with a credit card and can't do a chargeback.
So... talk to the seller and voice your concerns about the item taking this long, but dont accuse them yet.
