One Unread Private Message bug

There's currently a big with the "add to conversation" feature that sends the message but then won't allow the user to see the message and leaves a permanent message notice. I'm curious as to whether anyone has found a workaround because it's driving me insane.

Making sure I've got this right, someone else added you to a conversation and you've never been able to read it?

I'll be a guinea pig; add me to a conversation and I'll see if I can get around it.

I had this happen to me earlier today (unread message notification in my inbox but no unread messages in the inbox). It was there for a couple hours and then it worked itself out.

It worked itself out on my end as well eventually. Good thing too, I was about five minutes from killing myself.

I've got this currently happening to me. I'm running a phalla over in Cf and so getting quite a few PMs.

it happened earlier when one of the other people in the convo replied back and then i could see it.

here's hoping that it fixes itself the same way again.

Shit, I've had a persistent notification for one unread message that doesn't actually exist for what feels like six months. People can get rid of those somehow? Hot damn.

well it didn't fix itself overnight for me.

in fact it's gotten worse.

I know show 7 inbox messages and I can't see any of them. at all.

One of my more savvy buddies just helped me fix this.


Apparently the messages are there, but they are at the back of the pile, so to speak. If you go all the way back to the very end of your inbox, the unread messages will still be there. You can read them, and then if you reply to them, they will move to the front of your inbox and the red notification number will go away.

@38thDoe helped me with this solution.
