Harvest Moon: Truly A New Beginning [3DS]
Posts
You and me buddy, you and me. I mean sure, it's still gonna be about two weeks early, but it could have been sooner.
I got mine on Amazon so I have to wait an extra 2 weeks or so.
Is there anything I need to know to maximize my play experience when I get this new game?

A wonderful life i think. You start the game with those three little people that live in a tree up the road.

A Wonderful Life and Another Wonderful Life were okay but Magical Melody was much more fun even tho it ended up ending way too fast. As far as HMs go, AWL was middling. The big drawback was clunky controls and some weird livestock glitches. The weather was a little too complex as well; you had to monitor watering more then I'm ok with doing. I prefer the games where you just have to water once a day, not keep track of water levels and such. AWL had some pretty limited marriage choices also and the "wait for the merchant" selling system was pretty crap; I prefer the dump box.
It's more typical for Harvest Moon games to have a lot more going on, concentrated mostly over something like 2-3 years.
Fantastic vision, so-so execution. Probably my favorite of all of the experimental Harvest Moon games though as Save the Homeland and the Robot one are wretched.
It's a great one; one of the best. More Friends was a little better but I still like the first DS game the most. I would have liked it more if they'd removed the lame touch controls.
Like I knew it was out in Japan and Natsume was working on it but all of sudden it's out?! Holy moly.
I can't afford this and Layton and 999-2.
Not only that but it came out three weeks early.
So Animal Parade is actually good? It's sort of built off of Magical Melody right? I unfortunately missed it and only played ToT for about five minutes.
Yeah, the two that came after MM were really fun; Animal Parade and Tree of Tranquility (ToT being the better of the two). The graphics are ROUGH but once you get over them the games are really fun. They really get back to the simplicity of the great earlier games. The one downside is the map is a little confusing to get around in for quite a while.
Although both are good.
I really didn't like Save the homeland at first. It grew on me a lot as I played it though.
I may have those backwards. Whichever one came out later was better gameplay wise.
Animal Parade came out second. It was mostly the same as ToT, but had some improvements.
How does this game compare? I'm looking for a really - well, not basic, but fundamental-oriented experience.
Plush bigger than expected.
No, that's an awful thing to do. Damn.

Spring 25th.
Game changer.
I love the villagers so far.
The only negatives are that the game might take a bit too long rolling out features in the first spring and the 3D isn't great.
How are the load times? Some of the HM games have some pretty horrendous ones.
Just unlocked
EDIT: PFfffftt. I'm sorry, but what is WITH the character designs. Half the female characters either look too cutesy or generic, and the male cast range from "pretty-boy to bad boy" styles. Oh well, it seems like the stuff you can do to immerse yourself into the game is more... abundant.

I just got Sunshine Islands and Grand Bazaar for the DS in my bathroom... ahem... well, I've only sporadically played these, and does anyone remember what to do with branches and stones?
I've read that they can be converted into building materials, but I have no idea how, and they are taking up space in my rucksack (and so are herbs, which apparently don't stack).
