I used to post here a ton, but life is getting in the way. The thing about getting married and starting a life means that you simply have less time to spend hanging out on your favorite boards.
Not a nostalgia thread, but rather a thread to discuss the banality of life that plagues us all.
Getting married means now that you've finally settled on a life partner you can share all of your STDs guilt free.
getting married means that you've finally stopped "being selfish" and gotten around to the biblical imperative to extrude many small children from the ventral side of your torso.
which is basically the only time you're useful, is when you're overpopulating the earth.

I have six months of university left. Many of my friends have already graduated and have real jobs now. I keep thinking that I'm going to have to become an adult soon, but then I remind myself that I thought the same thing when I was starting university and I became nothing of the sort.
I'm still trying to figure out when I will feel like I am an adult, like my parents. I'm married, have a kid, am working a good job, and I still feel like...me. Not an adult.
I love how "getting married" is considered "starting a life"
Everything leading up to that, including whatever you accomplished in order to get to that point in your life is just invalid. Wasted time.
But hey, now that you're saddled with credit card debt, a mortgage, student loans, and possibly a kid or two, it's time to start living!
hey thanks! normal people might have gone a page without worthless political whining if you hadn't saved the day. phew that was close!
Political whining? No
Societal bitching perhaps
But Metal makes a valid point, there is definitely an overemphasis on Real Life starting when you get hitched, and for those of us who don't want to get married, can't get married, or tried and failed at being married there's this assumption that we've failed
It sucks and is stupid

Part of me wants to have kids so I can throw a ball with them in the yard, or play video games with, or raise and teach and love. The other part of me thinks I'll never be ready for children.
Also there's that nagging thought that if I die suddenly then I have pretty much fucked up the lives of one or more people.
